.... here. Jools & Jamie have had another baby.

Am I being unreasonable (although this is not the AIBU forum) but how ridiculous (or other words I can't think of) are these names?! Buddy Bear takes the whole thing to a new level...

Grin that has made my day, thank you Jamie!

PositiveVibes · 16/09/2010 16:46

Jamie Oliver is a God and can do no wrong in my eyes! Ok, his kids all have daft names, but it's not as if they are ever going to have normal lives like the rest of us is it?

HalfCaff · 16/09/2010 16:49

Buddy FINE, even Bear passable, but Buddy Bear ridiculous. Buddy/Bud has always been one of our nicknames for our DS and it's very affectionate.

GothAnneGeddes · 16/09/2010 17:05

'miserable coven of cat's bum mouths.'

Love it!

It is a rubbish name though.

katerum · 16/09/2010 17:05

Shouldve played it safe with Jonquil

I love all their childrens names Smile

taintedpaint · 16/09/2010 17:28

Truly horrible name. Poor child.

bebejones · 16/09/2010 17:42

Think Buddy is fine, Bear is fine...actually I love, naming after her late father is a lovely tribute. But all names together (esp Buddy Bear, very Winne-the-pooh/Tigger) sounds very silly. However if they had gone for something 'normal' after their previous choices wouldn't we all have been disappointed?! End of the day, their child, their choice!

missmoopy · 16/09/2010 17:54

Buddy Bear is cute now on a newborn. On a grown man??? Bleurgh! And B.O for initials!!?
They really are the smuggest pair. Can't bear them!! (see what I did there...?) Grin

Hulababy · 16/09/2010 17:55

If they like them, then so be it.

Buddy is not to my taste personaly but I have heard a lot worse.

Nothing wrong with Poppy or Daisy IMO.

KorrallKrabba · 16/09/2010 17:56

Oh Jamie and Jools, so very nearly the ultimate culinary faux pas

Has this been done yet? Yummy Twizzler for #5

strandedatsea · 16/09/2010 18:00

They are a gorgeous family. The oldest looks so like Jools. I am no huge fan of Jamie, although I do like some of his recipes, but good luck to them, they are pretty harmless compared to some celebs. And Buddy Bear suits the family,

Cyclops · 16/09/2010 18:02

Well the obvious one is Buddy Olly, then there is the food (chef) link to Billy Bear processed meat slices Grin

Cyclops · 16/09/2010 18:03

ah, KK, just followed your link, great minds!!

PosieParker · 16/09/2010 18:04

What is wrong with
Poppy?
Daisy?
Petal?
Buddy?

Honestly some of you lot are just so dull.

SecretSquirrel193 · 16/09/2010 18:06

Realistically its only going to be the papers who use their middle names. At home they will be Poppy, Daisy, Petal and Buddy, and those to me are perfectly acceptable names (if not to my personal taste)

Jonathan Ross's kids all have weird names but Betty Kitten is now only refered to as Betty, so its same thing!

Willabywallaby · 16/09/2010 18:08

How lovely they got a boy.

Booboobedoo · 16/09/2010 18:11

I quite like it.

Although if they have another boy I think they should call him Matey Bubbles.

Feelingsensitive · 16/09/2010 18:20

I like Buddy. The Bear bit is a bit daft but Buddy is quite cool.

bluebell4 · 16/09/2010 18:27

I wouldn't choose it, quite like it & would defend anyone's right to call their children names they like. To be honest I've heard a lot worse. I think Jamie & Jools are fabulous & I'm chuffed to bits for them.

saywhatmuthafucka · 16/09/2010 18:37

Buddy Bear is a lot better than Pilot Inspecktor(Jason Lee-My Name Is Earle)WTF...

Northernlurker · 16/09/2010 18:45

I wouldn't use it but it's perfectly fine and a total no-issue anyway Hmm. What's really important here is that mum and son walked (or were carried Grin) out of hospital today in good health and went home happy with their other children/siblings. Across the world women just like us die in childbirth every day and children just like ours die before their fifth birthday from preventable causes. If you want to get irate about anything - maybe save your energy for that?

KERALA1 · 16/09/2010 18:56

He can always change it to James when he older if he really doesnt like it.

Donnavito · 16/09/2010 18:56

I think it's intirely up to them. Everybuddy(sorry, I had to!) has a name idea that other people hate.I have people raise eyebrows at my childrens names- mostly Cole. I personally think that its a lovely name-my choice. My sister is called Harriet and she hates it but I love it. If i had any more girls I would have Harper as a name or Piper. Most people hate these. Some names we know well today were probably thought of as weird back in the day. PS i love Jamie!!!
