Alibabaandthe40nappies · 22/07/2010 18:06

JKS there is a lot I'm worried about too. Puking for 2 months, couldn't drive after 24 weeks before because of SPD, could barely walk by 35 weeks because of SPD. Hideous labour and emcs. Not so much for myself, but for the impact that it might have on DS.
I am healthier and stronger though, and much fitter than last time. Determined to keep up the exercise and I don't think there is any reason why I can't keep losing weight slowly during 1st trimester - well if I get bad ms then there will be no choice!

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 22/07/2010 18:17

A silver lining to ms - positive attitude

I didn't have ms with either. the things worrying me are:

  • disturbed sleep (both when pg & with newborn)
  • tiredness + 2 DC
  • weight gain & the effort of losing it all again
  • the fight i'll have with the nhs to get a home birth post emcs (HBAC)

Ho hum. been doing OPKs the last 2 days, no line yesterday, a faint one today, so pretty sure it's coming, just have to catch that egg

JustKeepSwimming · 22/07/2010 18:18

oh and like you

  • will my SPD return?
  • will it be worse (as i was lucky and it was mild last time)?
Alibabaandthe40nappies · 22/07/2010 18:21

Ooh JKS good luck!

See I am not bothered about a home birth at all. In fact I'm giving serious consideration to an elective. A good friend of mine ended up with episiotomy, forceps, ruptured womb, emcs to repair rupture and not being able to even cuddle her toddler for almost a month post-birth when she tried for a VBAC. Gah.

OP posts:
wastingaway · 22/07/2010 20:50

Evening. HAd a right crappy day. A good enough walk to the supermarket and back though, but then all crappy after, I'm in such a grump.

Ooh, I didn't have full on SPD, but if I forgot and pushed myself out of of bed with just one leg, the front of my pelvis would feel like it was ripping. I could almost feel it just now.

JustKeepSwimming · 22/07/2010 21:17

OUCH! Wasting, my pelvis is cringing in sympathy!!

Ali - I totally get that, i think each to their own, as long as it's an informed choice. No doctor should be telling us what we can or can't do!

I think it's so important to be properly informed.

I'd consider an elective rather than risk an emergency, if baby was big and OP again.

Congrats again Ali, and happy birthday to your DS.

I had 4 CS's, 1st one I felt guilty about but the other 3 were elective and I bounced back quite quickly. Still reckon I would be waiting to have DS 14yrs on if they hadnt done it because there was no way I was giving birth naturally!!
