Plum- I got caught out a few times early on trying to guesstimate postage

So now i weigh stuff at home on the kitchen scales and use the Royal Mail postage price finder to get an accurate price, then i round up just a little or down if it's only a penny so i am more likely to sell (eg, 1.95 i would prob round up to 2.00 but 0.81 i round down to 0.80).
I keep & reuse any jiffy bag-envelope things to save on costs.
Personally i prefer people to recycle packaging and keep postage costs low than worry about poncey new stuff all the time and higher prices.

The other day i hadn't realised the parcel would fit through the Large Letter hole so postage was less than i'd thought, i refunded some money but you don't have to. It just annoys me if i pay 2.00 postage and realise it only cost them 1.00 or something.

Hello Slatterns.

Weddig is over Am almost unable to type due to drunkeness.

I t was fine. I have been made aware by various family friends and family that they don't really have much faith in new SIL and think that I am quite right to be pissed off. Hurrah.
Was generally a bit tasteless and crap, but it is done and we are home.

Am v.v.v.drunk.

Btw - due to recent weightloss I looked fab and loads of people commented and said how lovely I looked. Most of them didn't really speak to SIL that much.

OP posts:
Alibabaandthe40nappies · 17/07/2010 21:37

Realise that all makes me sound a bitch.

Am not, just v.pissed and don't think much of new SIL.

Was hoping that I would suddenly be overcome with happiness when they were saying vows etc, but found myself totally bored by the whole thing and hoping it would be finished soon. That is not normal is it?

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 18/07/2010 07:41

Ali - was wondering how it was going to go. Sounds like you looked fab and have been proven right about her. I can't help but wonder whether it will last....and that's a bitchy thing to say about newly-weds but..!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 18/07/2010 07:52

Morning Went to bed very soon after I posted last night and I think drank about 3 pints of water during the night, so that combined with the fact that my Dad bought all the champagne and wine for the wedding so it was good stuff means that I don't really seem to have a hangover! Although I do still feel a bit squiffy and will definitely be going to have a nap when DS does later.

I'm so glad it's over, and glad that I went and did and said all the right things. Even managed to have a chat with SIL's Mum.
Poor DH got the brunt of me ranting and weeping and wailing the the way home, but at least I kept it in until then.
