Morning! One of the neighbours was fixing a motorbike or something last night. Hear it revving, then it'd drive off, come back, rev some more etc. for about half an hour. Not impressed when I thought DS was going to be up early after falling asleep at 5.

No idea what we're doing today.

Well I had a disaster last night icing my cake put second layer of icing on too soon, and it all went down hill from there so off out this morning to buy more icing & get ribbon

Have dd's learning diary from preschool, makes the whole going to school thing very real! It's funny how some of their observations are completely different to how I see her, just shows how different they are when away from mummy!

DS has put a handprint on beautiful new free tv Must clean it off forthwith!

As the dc have the master bedroom the other arial point is in their room...I don't really approve of tv in kids bedrooms (only because I don't sleep well if I watch tv right before bed) but have decided to put the small telly in there anyway, tuned to cbeebies so they can only watch it during the day. Might mean I get to watch some grown up telly at some point too if they have their own. Will see how it goes...

Yeeeesss, although I have put it there I am not sure when it will get used...I will not allow them to shut themselves away in there watching it or have it on in the background while they are playing up there. Maybe on a sunday afternoon so I can watch come dine with me

We have a TV in our room, it is how I get showered and dressed most days because DS sits on our bed with some books and toys and Peppa Pig!
SIL's kids have always had TVs in their rooms and fallen asleep to them, since they were 2/3 years old!

Hey Cikecaka

Just got DD to help tidy the sitting room Do you think saying to her "If you help mummy put the toys away, you can have a sticker" is a good way of doing things? I think she is at the stage where stickers would work well, but not sure how to go about it.

With the potty training/public loo saga, managed to get DD to come and look at the children's loo at the childrens centre quite happily. It is a huge first step!

DH got an energy monitor thingy delivered today. Tells you how much electricity you are using. Feel i may get a bit obsessive over it

got Migraine, brain all blurry. sneaking a quick mn while DH out, or he would be taking the computer off me.
Ice cream recipe
2 tblsp water
2tblsp lemon juice
150gms castor sugar
recipe says 250gm of rasps, strawbs and 150 gms red currants. But I just bung in whatever I have.
300ml whipping cream

1. Heat water and dissolve the sugar and lemon juice then cool.
2. Seive the raspberries. keep the pulp.

whip up the cream into soft peaks 3.add the fruit pulp to the cooled sugar water mixture

1. fold this into the cream
2. put inot a plastic box
3. freeze for one hour
4. tip out and beat with a fork until thick and smooth
5. put back until frozen ( a couple of hours does it in my freezer).

get out power tool to chisel out of box, warm
your teeth, then eat

Re: TVS, we have one in our room, we watch Only Fools & Gavin& Stacey for 20 mins before Dh falls asleep then I have to get out of bed and turn everything off, I prefer reading!

My dcs don't have TVs in their rooms, but my friend who has twin boys has one in their room as they refused to sleep when they were little, so she used to stick a video on for them in middle of night, it is the only thing that got her through toddler stages!
