I love my mini hoover/dustbuster
Esp as DS2 loves throwing Cheerios around.

Alice - hope you can take it as easy as poss.

OnEdge & Springy - hello

Re the washing up - can you try and 'retrain' your brain? Think of something you love, chocolate, etc.
Every time you wash even 1 thing up you have a chocolate button for eg. Sounds silly but it might just break that bad connection.
Otherwise, if it's that bad you may need to think about counselling/hypnotherapy as if it were any other phobia.

DS1 being ultra-clingy this afternoon which is no fun, i want him to get on with his own stuff to leave me to get on with mine, lol!

Alice take it easy! I had really strong BH with ds too, one time (must have been about 30 weeks) I was at an event and dd got grumpy so I took her out in the buggy to get her to sleep but left my bag etc with H. Walked along the seafront and got such strong BH that I was doubled over and still had to make it all the way back.

Alice the invisble I am a bit concerned about the BH. i have always had strong ones in my pregnancies, if i go over a bumpy road, need a wee or just standing up. Are they a risk? I am 24 weeks and begining to get them now. its like a squirming but i thought nothing of it. How amny weeks are you, how strong are they

Alicetheinvisible · 18/05/2010 15:37

OnEdge i am 28weeks, been having them for a few weeks, but on sunday i had them quite strongly and then had a few hours of having them so bad i couldn't breathe. Not too bad yesterday, but then up most of the night with an upset tummy last night. Seems to be whenever i do anything other than just lying down i get them.

SpringyWho · 18/05/2010 15:43

Hello everyone, thanks for the welcome

lordkensal, that advert is like my life

Alice, I had a similar thing - I went into prelabour at 33 weeks & was supposed to be on bedrest from then. It was impossible (given that even getting up to go to the loo set it all off, I tended to think 'what's the point?' about staying totally still), but I just took it really easy & was glad when it was all over! DS was born on his due date, so at least I didn't have to go overdue. I hope you avoid that too!

JustKeepSwimming - I could try the chocolate / washing up thing. If it all goes wrong, I can just comfort eat instead

Freakoid, sorry you're in the same situation too. I'm really worried about how I'm going to cope doing everything myself!

SpringyWho · 18/05/2010 15:44

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 18/05/2010 15:47

I have had a ten-minute power nap while DS was making his bears have a picnic, so feeling a bit better. The kitchen is clear and the dinner is in the oven.

And my average monthly spend is about £100 over my 'income' so need to really watch what i'm buying, areas i think i should be able to make a saving are toys (LOL!), stuff for the house & clothes (though i really don't buy that much but i could still buy less i guess).

Eeurgh! This virus is pissing me off!
I did manage some gardening though finally.

Ali, I bought the cheapo Argos handheld hoover thingy for the old house where it was just the upstairs and the stairs that had carpet, so I could easily do the stairs, when pg espesially, and it was so crap. Gone to the carboot. I imagine you get what you pay for though.

PlumBumMum · 18/05/2010 19:36

Evening all, welcome new slatterns, hands out cake and coffee, actually feck it I need a drink tonight

Will did all my usual busy Tuesday stuff but
but I'm feeling all tense,
the older children had a presentation this afternoon so all parents invited,
Anyway when I picked dd1 up she was looking fed up in the car, and I asked her whats wrong, turns out a boy in her class called her a F*ker, her class were sitting on a bench and he wanted more room dd said she couldn't move anywhere, and he was telling the girl beside her to just push dd, meanwhile he was pushing her and said she'd better watch he was going to lose his temper and that she was a f*ker
I am so annoyed because this particular boy has picked on dd before and I was only sitting 3 rows back from them and I know he has been bullied so why be horrible to someone else then[gggrrrrrrrrrr]

Plus I'm pissed off at ds's teacher as she sent him home with the wrong reading book, dosen't seem like a big thing but there are only 16 of them in the class and he has a reading record book

wouldn't mind so much but all I have done lately is defend the bloomin school to people knocking it because it is a small rural school,
I feel bad for ringing the school like I'm telling tales, but then again bad language isn't acceptable in my book.

I think I might have a glass of wine, so much for the ironing pile

wastingaway · 18/05/2010 19:45

Oh Plum, enjoy your wine!

Well done Alice.

Thanks CWWM, it's just sooo tiring.

Well my voice is back, but it hurts.
Reading 'Green Eggs and Ham' with a sore throat is hard work.

Springy my ex didn't really do much at home other than ironing, sometimes bathing the dc and sometimes doing some dishes in the evening so the workload wasn't that much more for me but I still worried about how I'd cope...tbh though the lack of tension I have now has more than made up for the energy I lose doing a bit more. I used to go to bed at 9 completely drained but now I can stay up until at least quarter past nine10.30 no problems and getting up with the dc isn't a prob now I'm not resenting him for not doing it. Of course it also helps that ds mostly sleeps through now...

Where I have made changes are showering at night after they are sleeping rather than in the morning, just a quick wash in the morning and I'm ready to go (and means I don't have to leave escapee ds unattended!), eating dinner with the dc every night instead of only sometimes then plonking them in front of tv/in garden whilst I clear up before getting them to bed. Oh and I now have to do the ironing
