Morning

Ali DD got a dollshouse for her birthday which she loved. She also loes jigsaw puzzles so we got her some for her 2nd birthday.

Busy weekend, but had a lovely day at friends house yesterday. DD is a bit tired and grumpy, so not sure what we will end up doing. We might go to a new toddler group for a clothes swap, but depends how DD is in the next hour or so.

Ali DD's birthday is in November, so needed to get her indoor presents. One thing she loved which could work really well outside too is one of those giant foam number puzzles that can be made into a hopscotch too. Thinking of getting DD the letters one actually.

Plum DD is always going on about tents, so we were wondering about getting her a little pop up one that could be indoors or out. But yesterday at our friends she wasn't interested in their castle tent.

Thanks for the dusting advice, that's what I do too but find it really disgusting the way the dust all clumps together!

Another dusting question (dusting is one of my "needs improvement" areas) when you dust do you just do the surfaces or do you do behind all the furniture, along the skirting etc. And what about room corners/ceilings/door frames etc?

Afternoon!

Kitchen is v. bad, so I'm going to get a Lemsip in a mo, then get stuck in while DS is watching the new Sesame Street DVD.

wastingaway · 17/05/2010 14:47

Wow Freaky, you're doing brilliantly!

If you think it looks bad you need to assess what it is that's making it look bad.

And then you have to remember that you've got small children and live in rented accommodation.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 17/05/2010 14:53

Wasting yep it's mostly the decor tbh- I can clean and clean but there is still chipped paint and peeling wallpaper (and layers of previous tenants dirt that seems ground in)

wastingaway · 17/05/2010 14:57

Are you allowed to decorate?

I can think of a handy young gentleman who might help you out and brings his own ladder.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 17/05/2010 15:01

I have to get permission...can't see him saying no cos it would improve the house.

But can't afford to atm (have gone way way overboard on dd's birthday and have holiday and ascot coming up)

Hmm maybe instead of using the unavailable handy young gentleman I could phone a few others to come and look at the work for me and -pick-- the most attractive

JustKeepSwimming · 17/05/2010 15:08

A new dating method Freak - ingenious

Having hung out a massive load on the line, then it got rained on, then as soon as I was inside with it all the sun came out, I'm sticking with Airer & Tumble for now, hmph!

Freak completely sympathise with house looking a pit reguardless of cleaning. I always feel ours looks like a students house with toys. Slowly getting there, just need to make these damn blinds!

Haven't heard back from the midwife yet

Need to do some jobs, DD is in the garden, so the sitting room is the obvious choice, but i find it so grubby and depressing

DONE
Get up
DD up
Breakfast
Get dressed
Strip beds (done first load)
Wash sheets (first load in)
Clear up breakfast stuff
Empty and reload dishy
Get DD dressed
Strip second lot of sheets
Wash second load of sheets
Hang out first lot (check weather!)
Rummage through the freezer for something for dinner tonight

TO DO
Tidy sitting room - most hated job!
Try to get DD to stay out in the garden (may take a bucket of water)she is in and out atm.
Dry rest of sheets
Put extra washload on (has mounted up last few days)
Wipe down kitchen
Do some washing up
Wipe bathroom down (another plumber coming 6.30)
Do horses
Cook dinner

DD is being soooooo naughty atm. Not just being a toddler, but actively misbehaving. Pouring juice on the floor on purpose, throwing all her toys about, emptying all her drawers, helping herself to stuff from the kitchen and laughing in my face when i tell her no. Need to spend more time out of the house i think....

PlumBumMum · 17/05/2010 16:19

Arrgghhh have not done much today, need to get cracking on dinner and ironing piles I WILL put it all away TODAY!!!!!!

Alice I think you are just more aware of what your body is doing in subsequent pg's although haven't read your thread yet if they are really painful ring mw (hours to late I know, I'm abit crap)
