Thank you Star - breathes sigh of relief, not to be one starting this importanto thread wrongly

I am flying on the other thread, but chatting on this one
well not really flying if I'm chatting must be told
in the midst of super efficient homebless

swanriver · 08/03/2010 09:48

I think Jas said she would come along and do the Zone link to kitchen? that would last the week?

Star, how are you today? Did the w/e suit?

Starbear · 08/03/2010 09:49

I'm a bit lost on the missions as Kelly is still on Friday. I think this week its the Kitchen. Could someone else post the week stuff because I can't find it?
Hey! Enough of playing on this machine I need to get on
Wolf & Swan Yes its freezing and I just couldn't get out of my lovely warm bed even though I was wide a wake! Our house just does keep the heat in. I don't what to look at our heating bills.
Back in a mo with a list!

Swan Yes, thank you. Again discussed with DH dropping Gymnastics for Ds. It cuts into the middle of Saturday and in Spring you want to be in the park or garden early or in the warmest part of the day not 4pm when the chill is getting to you. So DH has agreed that after Easter no more Gymnastics. DS is only do it for DH anyway now he is not a natural. I better plan some really active days out with friends so we really benefit from this.
JAS Thank you in advance. I think its a great idea so you can fit bits in when it suits.
need to answer the door back in a mo

Makingchanges · 08/03/2010 10:05

Morning all

Thanks for the thread star and morning swan.

Bad weekend, DD coming down with a cold. Knew she wasn't right when teacher said she was struggling to stay awake at group time. She has had naps each day this weekend (not normal she dropped them along time ago) and has been really grumpy cos nose blocked and tired. Tried to get her to bed early last night but she was up this morning at 6.30 so she will be tired again tonight. Had warned teachers as full day at nursery today.

We have ants in our kitchen, get them every year, all the houses in our little courtyard do but this year they have found my cupboards and drawers so have spent this morning cleaning, emptying and sorting drawers. Have now disinfected and hoovered the floor in the kitchen. Has been a good thing as it has forced me to have a good clear out or any out of date food etc in the back of cupboards.

To Do

Mop kitchen floor
Find something that will kill ants that is safe for kitchens.
Hoover and mop lounge floor and de-ant in there as we always get them in there
Washing - Not got much done this weekend so aiming for 4-5 loads today
Shopping - None done this weekend so need bread etc. Might find look at what delights are in the cupboards and use some of them instead of buying new stuff.
To gym this morning
Off to a seminar on nutrition this evening at the gym. I'm undecided, it will either be really good or rubbish but DH fancied it and as I do the cooking thought i'd better go too
Leg exercises and ice
Mission

Back later for an update

Makingchanges · 08/03/2010 10:07

Morning Evye crossed posts. Thanks for links. Looks like I won't have to do much of mission this week then

Starbear · 08/03/2010 10:45

Morning EVye & MC EVye I know my LB is ill if he naps. He never naps.
MC Have to make time for the gym & a swim as I sleep better then.
Lost Sunday down to DH wanting Little bear and myself to watch year 7 rugby. Catalogue of time eating annoying things.

  1. We only have one car
  2. Engineering works on the railway
  3. Little bear & I spent most of the day in the car.
So I had to drop DH off at school 35 mins away from home. Pop to the shops to get oranges. Rtn home. Make Packed lunch for DH and prepare oranges for team. Tidy kitchen in lighting speed. Go to Rugby Tourment 40 mins away. Turn up and need to walk miles to find the right pitch (not bad sunny day) Leave Little Bear watching Rugby to find loos. Rtn to discover LB not interested in watching rugby and all alone! Help DH re load kids in mini bus. Walk to our car 20 mins walk away. Get into Sunday traffic. Go to school to pick up DH! & return home. If he wants little bear to be interested in sport he has to stop waste his amd my time making him watch it and play with him a bit more!!! Sorry I had to get that off my chest as I know it will be an a big row with DH. I think it dawned on him by the end of the day. Okay back with a list.

star it seemed a pointless day, but it had various upsides. Dcs need to know that most of adult life is spent pointlessly waiting.
It's good that you only have one car, this was probably one of few times it had its disadvantages. Your ds probably didn't care how the day was spent as long as it was in your company. Our boring errands are their seeing the world.
You supported dh in what interested him, and supported the school kids too by supporting hm.

I'm always having days like that tbh, where just to get one child to one activity [why oh why have we spent the whole of Sat organising one child's participation in the preparation of tomato and bacon pasta?] we spend a whole day in transport contortions. Every moment of day doesn't have to be successfully deployed. You can have padding moments.

My parents are super energetic getting things done meet everyone, read everything, build everything, go out and have fun people - they seem to also do lots of tedious unproductive not very organised things that involve long drives, waiting around, pickng boring things up like one gasket, I could never understand it. But now I think it is the way they pace themselves and prevent themselves spontaneously combusting.
