Evye I was going to direct you to the colour analyst thread but have just seen you are already there - I found that really interesting. I'm not tired, feel strangly awake and alert which is not good so have been trawling the boards.

Must go to bed now as I have an early start for Physio tomorrow

Ruby I think mothers should all appreciate other mothers - definitely not OTT.

Started in a fuzzy mood and hope I can get back into focus..
Dh has departed to music classes with dcs, muttering/shouting, despite a warm welcome
Dts have to make first confessions this afternoon, and house still needs to be organised, today's meals have to be prepared with minimum of mess, children need to be taken for a run of some kind. I can see things are going to disintegrate rapidly - and we are all going to get thoroughly badtempered but big grin now pulls self together

Done
dw by dh
breakfast by dh
music practice x 3

EVye · 13/03/2010 11:08

Ruby - Fab idea! I would love it if any of my friends cared enough to take the time to do that and I'm not a single mum.

Ruby What a fab idea I wish I thought of it for my single Mum friends. It shows her you love her without being odd. The kids will come in when they are hungry.
Swan That list looks huge but I must do something like it so I can use the daylight more productively.
Re handbag, bag, phone & keys all live in the same place I come home, I shout hello but proceed to the cupboard and put them away before even a cuddle. It saves tons of time every day.
I off out in a mo to look for DH's present.
I need to check with him if it was okay to spend the money.
I have sorted & got DH to sort books to go to Oxfam. Cleaned & dusted the shelf strange stones and bits of a plastic toy hidden among the dust! I'm gooking to read Kelly's book while the boys are watching rugby!

ruby don't feel bad, you are great at birthdays and parties and presents (I am not). One oversight in 18 yrs does not make you slack.

To do:
banking
laundry
ironing

Lovely sunny day here. Have been to family fun day at the park. Embarked on a very difficult treasure hunt/quiz, in the end had to ask someone if we could copy their answers so that DC could get their stickers and we could go home .

Starbear · 13/03/2010 18:36

RR I'm rubbish at birthdays. Don't worry it not as if he is a child. My mum forgot my brothers 1st birthday as it was roughly the same time as my aunts wedding. He has been scared by it!
Scatty I love treasure hunts and orienteering but this time of year it gets very cold in the afternoon.
I didn't gook kelly's book or even look at it.
I have cleaned another kitchen cupbaord this one was worse it had 2008 barley & doge squash drinks from the same year.
Books & clothes delivered to oxfam. They have gift aid so you donate stuff and if you gift aid it they will receive extra money on the sale of your items so I'm wearing a halo now for de-cluttering.
Ran away from the pub & the rugby with Ds.
See you later disappointed that Wipe-out isn't on

Evening all I spent 9 hellish hours shopping for bridesmaids dresses. Can anyone sew?

Makingchanges · 13/03/2010 20:53

Wolf 9 hours I hope you got something you liked in the end.

Ruby Mothers day cookies sound lovely and I'm sure that the birthday will be fine. I can never remember what day my best friends birthday is on so her present is always either late or early.

Wolfcub · 13/03/2010 21:04

mc we got nuffin! I am frustrated, it's less than eight weeks until we fly out. PANIC

swanriver · 14/03/2010 08:11

Today we were woken by three dcs at 6.30, yes 6.30 desperate to give me breakfast in bed As dh said, their school has a lot to answer for . 6.30 is not when we get up here!! He heard voices, went down, and found ds1 and dd buttering me toast

Last thing, I went to wrap dd's main present which was meant to be an ELC camera. Only to find the cardboard box I has assumed contained a camera actually contained 4 packets of hoover bags. I had been keeping it in a safe place since XMAS!!Aargh. Luckily their RL birthday is not till Monday,so I think we will give main presents tomorrow not today as first planned. Just little presents today, and from grandma etc.

swanriver · 14/03/2010 08:16

Wolf I sewed my bridesmaids' dresses, all seven of them. They were only 3-4 year olds though It took a while. They had peacock green sashes with gold brocade overlaid, but were v. plain cream otherwise.
And peacock green ballet pumps.

What about buying the dresses you like and are good price, then getting the ones that you can't find in right size copied by a dressmaker? Or just getting a different style in same colour copied. Sometimes one style doesn't suit everybody.

Starbear · 14/03/2010 09:02

Happy Mothers Day everyone.
Wolf You have to now make a list of the ones you liked. How many bridemaids? Get the little ones sosmething you like. Tell the older ones to find something within the colour you specfy and then take one hour to get it. My sister looked lovely at my aunt wedding I didn't it didn't stop me having a great time. Hey! your going to have bags under your eyes and wrinkles on the day if you don't just go with the flow!

Get better soon RR Wouldn't be lovely if he could take them out to the park for a while. Well as DH has to do home we are going to the park with a mate. Going to dress up warmly as I don't fancy being cold at all. See ya later

Starbear · 14/03/2010 11:52

Happy Mothers Day girls .

ruby take it easy, hope you feel better soon.

wolf Can they buy their own dresses (Stars idea a good one I'd say)

swan lol at breakfast in bed at 6.30 .

star freezing here too.

We've been playing tag on the beech . I had to give dh £10 to buy me Mothers Day Lunch (hot dogs). Now I'm ironing.
Actually I hate MD, makes me feel guilty for being a rubish Mum (and a rubbish daughter/daughter in law).

swanriver · 14/03/2010 16:36

Ds2 Star Wars party over [went well with 10 kids - never the original ten I invited but t always works out in the end throw a few neighbours in and hey - in fact they are still here several hours later watching -yes - Star Wars!) Playdough planets, paint your own lightsabres[inside of wrapping paper rolls], sort of Jedi rescue/wink murder, find the Ewoks in the garden and some alien dancng all worked extremely well (tho' not in that order) Ditched the more intellectual games rapidly as it was a sunny (though muddy carpet] day. Ds2 was v. happy with it all, and his costume!

Scatty what nonsense
Star I am always cold in my party frock

  • I think I am shivering with nerves
Ruby you are better off in bed, I wish I could go there RIGHT now.
