Morning I hope I've done the right thing

OP posts:
Simply · 11/03/2010 11:10

Morning all. Thank you everyone for not tutting at me for having Christmas stuff in the spare bedroom for two months!

dylsmum I read the posts and then can't remember much, too!

I'm feeling much better by today. Only a few sniffles left. I wrote a "to do" list before I went to bed. There are 13 things which I thought of and wrote down in just a few mins so I clearly have lots to get on with. I'll come back with a cup of tea once I've done 5 of them. See you later.

Makingchanges · 11/03/2010 11:10

Dylsmum I have just enquired at house of colour. Apparently have consultants around the country who work from home and you go and visit them. It is £95 (DH was at that) but at the moment I definately don't have 'teacher' outfits and I know that I buy things that don't suit me and then I don't wear so I'm seeing it as an investment. I don't know much else but the consultant is going to ring me to give me more information colour analysis - its the one that recommended on here

Makingchanges · 11/03/2010 11:18

Right I have spent the morning playing at school, house and holidays with DD so no housework done but a good morning. DD has packed herself a suitcase for holidays (Don't have the heart to tell her we aren't going until June) although I'm sure she hasn't got a complete outfit in there.

Jobs to do today

DD to nursery
Me to school
Address the letters to schools that I wrote yesterday and post
Post the forms for Uni
Write up sign language notes for last night. My brain was hurting after that session so I need to make my notes more understandable.
Books back to library
DVD back to blockbusters
More assignment
More washing
Buy Mothers day card
Leg exercises and Ice - Didn't do yesterday as too late when came home

I'm sure there is more, right best got on with lunch before nursery / school - Back later

swanriver · 11/03/2010 14:27

done
library work in morning - getting back into swing of it
various errands on train including buying icing ingredients, and ds1 music book
such a pleasure wandering around an old fashioned shopping parade instead of a supermarket although I did end up in Morrisons when I got home alas..

dylsmum1998 · 11/03/2010 14:29

MC I can see how that could be an investment- may look into that in a couple of months (need to save first )

Simply glad you are feeling better

quick update done
post ebay things
bank
dc to school
tidy
hoover
make butternut squash soup for lunch
clean bathroom
iron
15 mins in kitchen
application form for great school i looked at the other day

to do
mission
recycling to bank
dust

Engineer just been for boiler- its not good the whole flu needs replacing so we still have no heat/hot water. He did say we are the absolute top priority, phoned for parts while here and said if he can get them in time he will be back tomorrow to sort it. Its a big job as the flu is boxed into ds's bedroom with no access points. so he needs to cut away parts of wall to access it in ds's newly decorated bedroom

just waiting for xmil to finish work then will phone and beg to take me and mine to hers for a shower after school

dylsmum1998 · 11/03/2010 14:30

swan sounds ideallic walking round a proper parade to do shopping, I love the odd occasion I have time to go to seperate shops for our food

swanriver · 11/03/2010 15:57

Dylsmum - much much sympathy on the boiler.
It is still such brass monkeys weather as well. But still v. important to get it done, Ihad a friend with carbon monoxide boiler who didn't realise it for along time.

Starbear · 11/03/2010 18:36

just popped in DH is making me a cuppa. Being at work nothing to report will catch up later

Ruby Did you find that it was easy to apply afterwards. I really fancy it cos I really need to do something to look more presentable but I do worry that once I leave the session, I'll forget everything or will find nothing in the right colours. Will have a look at last minute.

Makingchanges · 11/03/2010 19:30

List updated

DD to nursery done
Me to school Done
Address the letters to schools that I wrote yesterday and post Done

You can see what I've been avoiding there. I've had an afternoon where I can't get motivated. Have probably spent hours on the internet looking at nothing. Right better get on with the college work

Ruby and Changes that colour thing sounds great. I had a friend at my old school in the North East who had it done. It radically transformed her into a stylish, chic lady - like you say it wasn't about how much she spent on clothes, just what she bought. Always fancied it myself. She did Colour me beautiful, think she had to pay for colours and again for clothes styles etc. She had to take loads of her wardrobe in with her to give the consultant an idea and she said it took over 3 hours!

Hi all
Went to work today! LOL First time for 2.5 years! I enjoyed it and enjoyed my time at home much more too. We'll see how it goes, as you know it's only temporary but perhaps it will lead to something or perhaps I will get a job now!

BB tomorrow

wendyhappysmile · 11/03/2010 20:01

Dyls sorry to hear about the flue for the boiler

Oh, and Parent eve very annoying last night - DS given two targets he could do about a year ago and teacher very unhelpful.

scattyspice · 11/03/2010 20:05

ruby at not needing foundation. This colour analysis is sounding like a very good idea.

Dyl Sympathy for the boiler crisis. What a PITA.

To do:
Buy jam etc
banking
laundry - done
dd to cheerleaders. - done

Cheerleading (cheercats) was excellent. Well worth the money to watch a group of 4-6yo girls trying to co-ordinate their pom poms .

Am very tired now and had a bit of a rant at DC (and dh) for not putting stuff away (esp when they insist I find a specific item for them at a moments notice ). Dh is hiding in the garage .

Wolfcub · 11/03/2010 20:15

evening all
hope all are okay I haven't really had time to read the thread this week. DS poorly and work very crappy.

EVye · 11/03/2010 20:48

oooh, just asked for colour me beautiful thingy for my imminent b-day

swanriver · 11/03/2010 21:27

made ds2 cake! Only two more to go this month

tiresome afternoon, now feeling better with half a can of guinness. Managed to be horrid to two of the kids, whilst overdoing niceness to third
Yes, Scatty, short shrift to those seeking more arcane objects in sea of junk. Today I had Ds2 searching in vain for a greenbear which had apparently "Well Done" written on it {although he is in my good books today]

Have planned all party games for Sunday, including craft activity though not yet bought the food, or the decs.

What were you teaching today Wendy? So glad it went well.

Colours, well, I am colour blind so not surprisingly I need a colour consultant, but then I suppose I would still get it wrong... Bitter choc indeed, what's wrong with brown? {too much choc cake mixture everywhere emoticon]

Wolf that's what is depressing isn't it, at the end of every day one is relieved it is over...
Once had a sales person come up to me in office and say, when the bookkeeper and I were looking forward to weekend - "Don't wish your life away" It was v. profound moment.

Starbear · 11/03/2010 21:54

Dyls Hope boiler get fixed soon. Depressing otherwise.
Wolf Hope Little one gets better soon. Little bear is on the mend but has a very sore top lip from rubbing his nose instead of BLOWING!
MC Did you get the work done? or have you brought a set of towels and researched pros & cons of leggings V. jegging
Swan The advantage of only having one, you can't be accused of having a favorite
Must must get my act together and go to the gym tomorrow. I have just brought size 14 & 16 clothes and parted with a few (not all) size 10 dresses to Sis boo! hoo! I must I must lose this weight & put the size 16 in storage & bring at least the size 12's out again. Don't think I can afford colour me anything at the moment.
Well I'm off to tidy up & then to bed See in the morning.

Wolfcub · 11/03/2010 22:17

star vaseline is good for snot caused sore top lips

Starbear · 11/03/2010 22:20

Thanks Wolf will do that.

OP posts:
swanriver · 11/03/2010 22:21

Star dd once asked me who was my favourite person in family, and quick as a flash I replied "Daddy". But this was no good, she was still furious at not being my absolute favourite. I didn't dare mention cat for fear of repercussions.

need to get up early tomorrow so that I can supervise the following homework (x 2):

"How to make a Jam Sandwich" - very retro . I have a friend who would get completely carried away and get her daughters to mention baking the bread, growing the raspberries, the sweet little jam pots.

scattyspice · 12/03/2010 07:42

Morning . Its raining.

swan Do all 3 have a birthday this month ? Good luck.

star DS asked who the favourite in our family was. I said 'I love you all the same'. He said. 'Dad is my favourite!' .

wolf I think its acceptable to wish your life away at work.

wendy Glad work went well. How brave, must have been daunting after 2.5 yrs (I imagine school kids don't make allowances for 1st day nerves).

MC and EV Report back on the colour analysis (and educate the rest of us).

To do:
Buy jam etc
banking
Lidl
laundry

No clubs/parties/activities today .

swanriver · 12/03/2010 09:28

Done
Up bright and early, scrambled egg and smoothie for breakfast,
violin practice
ds1 to school first thing (some outing)
then synchronised Jam Sandwich homework

however then it all went pearshaped, as Dd started trying to use blue piping icing on ds2's homework book [it was funny, and it wiped off tg , I/she lost her shoes etc etc.

Scatty not all in March, but all in next four -five weeks. This year I WILL ENJOY THEIR BIRTHDAYS, and not get in a state.
Hope your dd's party went well - I think it is the same time of year isn't it?

Now off the shops to organize more stuff.

Starbear · 12/03/2010 09:47

Morning everyone
Grey and boring over here today.
I think I have now got to start looking back at Kelly's website and doing this flying properly. I lurked on the other thread and it's too much to take in with so many people on it. So I am going to review & revise my Morning & Evening routines. If you don't mind I might share them with you here
Swan I get into such a state when planning a party. In the same moment I can feel like I'm going over the top then not doing enough. It then stops me doing anything. Swan I think I'm going to join you and just enjoy the Birthdays.
Scatty children are wicked creatures.
Wolf Don't you just hate magazine articles with women who say 'You must be true to yourself and find a job you enjoy, I love my work. My day starts at 7.30 am with a run, I shower (not mentioning dress, full make up and hair) then I have breakfast with the kids. (No mention of cleaning it up) I do the school run and I'm in the office by 9am!!!!! liar and its full steam ahead with directors meetings and events ... blah blah blah ops! must get on post a list in a mo.
