Everyone welcome!

Here you can, for one month:

  • repeat or start baby steps
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone
  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering

As Christmas is approaching I'll also post Christmas missions.

I'll post links early in the morning on the relevant day while I'm, making the coffee and brewing tea.

Good luck!

Hi all

Bless you for worrying about me, thats so nice of you.

I am doing ok-ish
It is a chest infection- but luckily not pleurosy as helpfully suggested by my work colleagues (as I work in the NHS this was a little worrying!!) LOL

But anyway, I have antibiotics and DS has headed to his dad's for the night, so I can get lots more sleep and be super well

House is still looking ok. Hurrah.
And I home made chicken soup which is yummy!

optimisticmumma · 06/11/2009 17:47

oh DTG I'm so glad you got sorted out. I, too am on the old antibiotics for a cough that has been with me ever since I was ill about a month ago!!!Have a lovely restful weekend.

SC - how exciting! Going off without
a plan! Good on you and have a lovely time!

MMI'm with you on the 'post my list so must do it'...Have you done your ironing???

Am pleased I've done all my list bar the post letters and mission. In my defence I have done an extra 3 loads of washing!

Just off to take DD and friends to local bowlplex. catch up with you all later....

MrsDinky · 06/11/2009 17:58

Hooray - did everything except the filing (inevitably). I really need to go and buy a lot of files, and as I live in a small town that will mean a trek out somewhere (I used to get them in Woolies)- any excuse for a shopping trip!

DTG I'm glad you've got the anitbiotics and hope you have a good night's sleep.

MM and OM - I too agree about the list making all the difference, especially as it's public

I am sitting in front of a roaring log fire with two children sitting quietly eating ice cream and cake in front of the telly. Can't be bad! Have a good evening everyone.

droitwitchmum · 06/11/2009 18:22

Hello everyone. We've got 200+ posts already not sure if that means there's lots of flying going on, or just lots of posting messages
Day was staring well until 6.50 when DS announced it was 'dress up as someone who does a job' day at school today 2 changes later and a tantrum (me not DS) and he was sent up dressed as a gardener!
I'll catch up with you all later over wine

OP posts:
elliepac · 06/11/2009 19:15

Evening all, a rather busy day here. Forgive me if I miss anyone out.

DWM - a tantrum is quite understandable in those circumstances!

MrsDinky - I continue to be in awe of your filing. Snuggled up in front of a fir with DC's sounds like a good place to be right now.

OM am also a list poster. No list today....no flying done

DTG glad you went to the doctors. Snuggle up, get lots of sleep and eat chicken soup. Almost wish I was ill to give me the excuse to do that.

SC - have a fab weekend. How very exciting. Am very .

MM - have you done your ironing?

tibni - how did the blitzing go?

PA - oooh bad morning. Hope it got better and you are now sitting serenely in a not very dusty house imbibing wine.

WTD - I'm with you ...it's friday!!!! Nothing else matters

HAG - glad you got some sleep last night. Please tell me you didn't fly when your lovely friend took DS and that you put your feet up and relaxed.

WEll, feeling a lot better today. No headache, early night helped I think. So, DH and DS have gone to a bonfire party. I have stayed behind because it would be way past DD's bedtime and it is cold, wet and miserable here. (Didn't really want to go anyway because all I would have done is run around after DD). So have place to myself for a couple of hours and DD is in bed. So should I:-

a. Order a takeaway, open wine, watch trashy TV.

b. Take the opportunity to fly a little to stop having to do a lot tomorrow.

Head says b, heart says a. Your votes please

Have a good evening.

positiveattitudeonly · 06/11/2009 20:01

Elliepac - Is this a trick question? Do we get given a mark for the right answer? No contest even if I get 1 out of 10 for trying. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA every time!
Ok, so now I have failed the "suitability for flylady" test. Can I still post? Or do I lurk in the background?

Mrs Dinky - MMmmmmmm sounds good at yours.Could you give my Dcs a lesson? They are not too good at the quietly sitting down even now they are teenagers. In fact the time they are quietest is when I need them to get up in the morning.

DWM - Oh I remember those days well. Why, oh why do teachers do that dressing up thing? It has caused me so many tantrums heartaches in the past. One time I decided to make DD1 a mermaid outfit and thought her bedroom curtains would make perfect scale-like mermaid "skirt". We had some spare curtains for the bedroom - 3 windows, so took down first pair and made mermaid outfit. I was really impressed with my efforts. I then went to put up the spare curtains only to find they didn't fit!! The most expensive mermaid costume ever. It cost £120 to replace the 3 sets of curtains!

DTG - Glad you are on the mend. Take it easy over the weekend.

HA - Please tell us how you spent your time. Hope you are now feeling relaxed and ready to face the world again.

Mrs Doolittle - Are you OK? Come back, come back, wherever you are.

Can't really fly too much, more sort of crawl at the moment. So no list from me. Just ticking over for the next few weeks. Will take off when the bedlam has died down. But I'd love to keep posting here and keep up with everyone on here.

Is it my turn to open up the wine? I am celebrating dust! Does anyone want to join me? Red/white/rose take your pick. Any left overs I will claim!

droitwitchmum · 06/11/2009 21:55

Hi everyone - is there any wine left? Red for me please!

wtd have you finished your assignment yet?
MrsD how has the filing gone? I've LOADS to do but still decluttering spare room where it is lurking in a malevolent way
tibni I know all about slipping, I've been doing it all week! Getting back on track today/tomorrow though

I'll flip to next page and carry on

OP posts:
Pluto · 06/11/2009 21:58

Elliepac It is Friday night. You know the answer is a)

No flying whatsoever here of any description today beyond the really basic routines but the house looks OK. I have had a lovely day doing family things and being nice to DS1. DH is working late so we had a takeaway, Wii fiesta and snuggly bedtime stories.

Here is my weekend list:

Sort out birthday present for DS1
Ironing
Buy DS1 a gumshield
Meal plan and shop for weekend
Be prepared for cubs church parade on Sunday
Get a run in (not had a chance since Tuesday )

droitwitchmum · 06/11/2009 22:03

what's happened to the 'eyes' in the biscuit - looks like a nipple now! (Dare anyone to post two together

Sorry - to resume
SC I'm guessing you've gone - hope you have a fab weekend
dtg take it easy, no flying for a few days
OM you take things a bit easy too
ellipac hope you went for option a!
PAO we'll be happy just for you to keep in touch until you know which way is up! Keep the wine coming

ok my list for today
WM done x2
dressed done
breakfast done
DS up done
DW empty done
ironing done
couple of hotspots no but sorted out shoe mountain in hall instead - 3 pairs for mending, 2 pairs for jumble, large pile for recycling
S & S next
shine sink after s&s

Hooray - first clear list this week for me! Tomorrow I'll go through this week's missions as I should have some time to get them done. No time this week at all somehow.

Shall we do croissants for breakfast tomorrow?

OP posts:
droitwitchmum · 06/11/2009 22:04

Hi Pluto - x posted there!
Basic routines sound fine to me especially followed by a takeaway

OP posts:
optimisticmumma · 06/11/2009 22:33

Evening all . Ooh er wine and antibs DO NOT GO!!!

Ellipac it's a bit fat AAAAAAAAAAA from me!! Takeaway and wine and that lovely cosy feeling that DH and DS are doing what they want and you are doing what you want!!!

MrsD so of your fire. Please remind me again to order logs or at least buy a couple of fire logs!!

PAO LOL at the mermaid outfit but I'm with you all the way....DWM the one amazing thing about having teenagers is you NEVER EVER AGAIN have to provide a book week/tudor/victorian/2nd World War etc etc outfit EVER!!!! That is a big plus! My poor DS2 ( 3rd child) had to go as the third Captain Hook (outfit provided by neighbour whose 3 DCs had also worn it!) the third Harry Potter etc etc. He never got to choose...Imagine my horror when DS1's GF (17) had to dress up recently for book week at her SECONDARY SCHOOL!!! When I asked the perfectly reasonable question - why? It was in memoriam for an much loved English teacher's innovative idea way back in the 1980s!!!

No more flying tonight! See you over the weekend for chat only!!!

optimisticmumma · 06/11/2009 22:36

DWM

I dared......

optimisticmumma · 06/11/2009 22:37

Actually it looks like 2 eyes...

droitwitchmum · 06/11/2009 23:27

OM I'm so glad you're right

OP posts:
elliepac · 07/11/2009 07:28

MOrning all,

well you will be pleased to hear i went for option A and had a lovely evening . I love my family but sometimes it's nice to have some time ON MY OWN!

Today's list looks like this:-

Washing x lots (still trying to catch up on backlog
Quick tidy this morning
DW on
Take car to mechanic friend to fix for MOT
Meet mum for late breakfast
Tesco (bleugh)
Missions from this week
Hotspot on top of kitchen
Start gettign paperwork sorted by at least putting all in one place
Strip bed, wash bedding, re-make beds

Think that will do!

Have put tea/coffee on and as per DWM's suggestion croissants are warming in the oven. Help yourselves

droitwitchmum · 07/11/2009 07:37

Good morning fellow flutterers.

Family fun day today so no mission (unless you're joining me in catching up
There is a babystep though and this is a good one.
Christmas mission for those brave enough to accept it

So today I've made a good start with my home blessing - beds stripped and ready for washing - 1st load in and its not raining so I might get it all dry. I've got a huge list for the weekend but am hoping that in total I shouldn't spend more than a couple of hours doing it all as some will overlap

I want to do 15 mins in each of
bedroom
DS bedroom
bathroom (to include s&s)
landing/stairs
lounge
dining room (to include 3 missed missions)
hall/entrance (also to include 3 missed missions
kitchen
This will include home blessing (vaccuum, dust, polishing, getting rid of papers and emptying bins
If washing dries I will try to do the ironing tomorrow so I've got a clear run on Monday because on Monday we move into the Kitchen

Off to put yesterday's washing on the line - wish me luck...

OP posts:
droitwitchmum · 07/11/2009 07:38

elliepac thanks for coffee and croissants - yum

OP posts:
walkthedinosaur · 07/11/2009 09:07

ellie am not really a plain croissant fan but I love pain au raisins so I've just nipped down to the boulangerie and bought some AND THEY'RE STILL WARM - sorry I get a bit lary when I'm excited. They are delish though and are a meal in themselves, won't need anything to eat till tonight now.

Yesterday I did get the house blitzed so good going there, however I did not do my assingment I sat down with a coffee and watched Bones instead and then I had an early night, obviously I excel at proacrastination.

Today I have work to do, it didn't arrive on my desk until last night so I'm going to get my head down and finish it today and then I can have a nice time with the DC's tomorrow. I have however taken the bedding off my bed and stuck it in the machine.

Have a good day everyone! I'm really jealous of SC and her weekend away.

elliepac · 07/11/2009 12:47

WTD - how much would I love to have boulangerie to nip down to..I do have a spar shop..does that count? I would be excited too.

Not a lot achieved so far today and I am slowly losing the will to live. DD whingy and DS naughty (because he is tired, hime and DH didn't get back from bonfire till 10pm). Tesco was an absolute nightmare. Thank God my mum came round with us as I might have strangled the pair of them if not. She also spoilt them rotten while i was trying to tell them off. Clothes, chocolate and books...a grandma's perogative apparently. (although secretly pleased about clothes because they both keep being damned inconsiderate and growing...how very dare they..the cheek of it )

SO list so far looks like this:-

Washing x lots (still trying to catch up on backlog)
Quick tidy this morning
DW on
Take car to mechanic friend to fix for MOT done
Meet mum for late breakfast done
Tesco (bleugh) done
Missions from this week
Hotspot on top of kitchen
Start gettign paperwork sorted by at least putting all in one place
Strip bed, wash bedding, re-make beds

As you can see, no real flying done but still have afternoon so am hopeful and am thinking it won't be too bad this afternoon because I was quite good during the week.

DD in bed, DS curled up on sofa watching Ben 10, DH at work so am going to take the opportunity to put my feet up after my horrendous morning and resurrect myself after DD's nap.

elliepac · 07/11/2009 12:47

I am also jealous of SC - wonder where she's gone?

MrsDinky · 07/11/2009 17:14

Just thought I'd pop in before the week's flying starts to catch up with everyone as I've been a bit MIA this week.

Thanks for asking about my morning off. No I didn't fly (well not really) I had a lovely time, did a quick tidy up and then sat down with a coffee and my book - bliss, particularly as DP went to doctors so I was in the house ALONE, very rare these days. Felt lovely.

SC How exciting, where did you end up? I wish I could be more spontaneous, but like to have things planned.

PA Yuk about the milk sludge, sounds like a pig of a morning. Definitely keep posting while things are non-fly friendly - it will make slackers like me feel better

DTG Chicken soup is so perfect when you feel grotty. Hope you made the most of your child free evening and are feeling better today.

MM & OM I am also with you on the list posting. I mean I know it's probably of no interest to anyone but it does focus me. Perhaps that will be one of my goals next week; to post a list every day. In fact I may even post a list tomorrow ...in a sunday!

Ellie So glad you went for A; time alone is the one thing I miss now that we have DS, not much time but some is important. Something we are still working on here.

Pluto At least you did the basics which I still think makes a huge difference.

No flying today (as per the rules) but we did sort out some stuff from the Christianing list, which is in 2 weeks - yikes - Booze done

Hello to everyone else, hope you've got your pets in and are wrapped up if going to any fireworks displays.

I have another treat tonight. DP is doing bedtime so that I can watch Strictly whilst it is actually on - oh what a rare treat.

MiniMarmite · 07/11/2009 22:25

Evening All

Ironing not done yet I'm afraid but will get to it.

We had a bit of a disaster here last night as DS fell at cut his head just above his eye at bedtime so we spent a large part of the evening at A&E . Thankfully not as bad as it looked at the time distressing for all of us all the same.

DH had to leave at 5 this morning to go away for the weekend and my parents have spent the day with DS and me which was lovely and a huge help.

I've done a few bits and pieces today including putting 3 sacks of DS's clothes that are too small into storage.

My list for tomorrow:
S&S
Make beds
IRONING!!!
clothes ready for Monday
DW loading, kitchen clean etc
Laundry
babystep
vacuum rugs

Hope SC is having a fab weekend away - what a great idea, and hope you are all having a great weekend.

elliepac · 08/11/2009 07:31

Morning all,

Didn't get much done yesterday because I was incredibly lazy. So my list for today looks strangely similar to yesterday's

DW on done
Washing x lots started
General tidy
Change beds
Hotspot
Missions
Cook SUnday roast
S/S bathroom
Trip to skip

MrsDinky hope you enjoyed your girls night

HAG glad you put your feet up. Like you, time on my own is a precious commodity round here as well. Something we are also working on in elliepac household (and have been for 6 years .

MM Hope DS is alright. It's horrible when they hurt themselves. Friday morning just before we were going to childminders, DD was running and me, being bad mother, didn't realise she had a stick thing in her mouth. SHe fell and cut herself in her mouth. Cue an awful lot of blood although it looked worse than it actually was. She was fine but still quite scary.

Have a lovely day everyone.
