Everyone welcome!

Here you can, for one month:

  • repeat or start baby steps
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone
  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering

As Christmas is approaching I'll also post Christmas missions.

I'll post links early in the morning on the relevant day while I'm, making the coffee and brewing tea.

Good luck!

MM hope DS is ok. Great help from your parents.
Bright and early ellipac. DS had lie in today and didn't get me up till 7.45 - bliss

No Christmas mission today so babystep only today

Need to finish my list today so
15 mins lounge - tidy, dust, vaccuum
vaccuum dining room and kitchen
wipe down front door
try to get some more washing dry
iron what is dry (not a lot)
out for lunch
S&S
shine sink

Have a good Sunday everyone

Good morning, as promised a list from me to try and get me back into it ready for the week ahead.

Make Bed
Pump milk done
S & S
Washing on
Empty DW
Prepare casserole for dinner
Ironing
Take hedge clippings to tip
Sort home insurance
30 mins decluttering loft

and of course read papers and drink coffee

Ellie Arrrgh still trying for time alone after 6 years - yikes

MM V/scary for you - blood is horrible. Glad he's OK, sends a shiver down my spine!

DWM Morning, well done on your first week, marvellous job (not that I paid much attention to the links ) Have a good lunch out.

elliepac · 08/11/2009 11:11

Mid-morning check in. DH must have read my whinge about time on my own because he took DC's to the park earlier and has now taken them out till lunchtime to visit FIL and then on to visit MIL. Result . Must remember that Mnet now has magic powers so if there is anything I want I will just post on here and it will come true...starting with a lottery win please .

Am having a quiet 5 mins and then going to get on and fly this morning so when DD goes for her nap, I can put my feet up. It's so much easier to get things done when no-one here.

So to my list:-

DW on doneandunloaded
Washing x lots 1done/indrier
General tidy donedownstairs
Change beds
Hotspot
Missions
Cook SUnday roast started (chicken in, stuffing made, potatoes par boiling, veg prepped)
S/S bathroom done
Trip to skip - have delegated this to DH so might not get done

DWM have a lovely lunch out and I second what HAG said, triffic first week proved by the HUGE amount of posts .

elliepac · 08/11/2009 11:12

Still pondering what SC is getting up to

droitwitchmum · 08/11/2009 11:42

Thank you ellie and hag

Not got as much done this morning as I would like as DS is actually playing in living room rather than watching tv! We have gone through some toys together though and found some that can go to MILs jumble sale collection. That is bagged as is the heap of shoes I took out of the shoe mountain ready to go to shoe bank. Just have a mound of bags now to go through before I can find my living room floor to vaccuum.

I've given up and put a few loads in tumble drier otherwise I'll have wet washing around for days. Oh and I've cleaned my front door.

Will get DH out of bed in a minute (its easier with him out of the way{grin]) and then will go for lunch.

Hi everyone, hope you're enjoying your weekend. I've had a very good day flying so am feeling on top form.

Today I have:-

Stripped and washed DC's bedding
Swept and mopped all bedroom, landing and bathroom floors
Tidied mine and DC's bedrooms
Swept and mopped kitchen, hall and dining room floors
Made banana loaf
Listened to DS1 moan about doing homework then helped him with said homework
Dinner in oven

Tonight I must:

Bath DC's and get them to bed early
Ironing while watch TV

And maybe, just maybe, if I get DC's into bed early do some of my assignment.

I too am wondering where SC got herself off to.

Glad you're feeling better DWM.

To all of those jealous of my boulangerie, it is great for lovely croissants and baguettes but unfortunately I've gone up a size since moving here, so not so good on the weight.

MrsDinky · 08/11/2009 17:49

Hi everyone.
Well, sounds like everyone has done well today. MM - sorry to hear about DS's head.

Not much housework today, but have sent DH to the tip with another load of stuff and set aside quite a big pile for charity shop. Also tackled a hotspot (desk drawer, the one full of sellotape, old receipts, bits of broken toys etc). Have put baskets inside it and arranged everything neatly after chucking a fair amount away.

Plastic baskets are my key tool for tidiness. Over the last year or so I have gradually put them on or in just about every shelf cupboard and drawer in the house, and it really helps keep things tidy.

Will post a proper list tomorrow. Ironing tonight. Have a good evening everyone.

droitwitchmum · 08/11/2009 20:14

Hi everyone
MrsD the decluttering may not feel like housework but it sounds like you have done a lot of it and it is part of the flylady routine so keep at it - the cleaning part will come later.
wtd well done on your list. Just one thing - have you done any of your assignment yet?
Wonder where SC went and has she come back yet?
Had lovely lunch but 2 large glasses of wine so not much done this afternoon apart from a pile of ironing.

15 mins lounge - tidy, dust, vaccuum did 15 mins but didn't find enough floor to vaccuum. Spent most of the time going through the bag mountain that ended up in there yesterday when I decluttered the hall
vaccuum dining room and kitchen no have asked DH to do them tomorrow as he's not at work
wipe down front door done
try to get some more washing dry nearly all done
iron what is dry done
out for lunch *done
S&S done
shine sink

Think I've had enough wine for today = see you all tomorrow!

Morning morning morning. Just dropping in for croissant a catch up!

I think SC has been abducted by aliens! When do we call the space police?

Does anyone actually loop things on to them? Would you answer the door with something looped through your pants - ok trousers, with a tabbard on? I would hide under the table if there was a knock at the door!

Right this morning I need to very quickly dry the school uniform for today.
Unload DW and reload breakfast things.
Wipe down surfaces in preparation for the next layer of dust.
Do weekly food shop before work.
Get to work at least sort of on time today!
Investigate alien abduction.

Have a good day everyone.

walkthedinosaur · 09/11/2009 07:24

Morning all, boo it's Monday and a dismal and foggy Monday here too. Today I have:-

Me and DC's dressed
Made beds
Done breakfast and cleared away
Unloaded DW and reloaded
One load of washing on
S and S
Sink and kitchen sides
Made a coffee!

To do:-

Paid work
Clean out oven on range
Clean cooker top
Mop kitchen floor
Make DC's dinner for tonight
DS1's piano lesson
DS1's home work
Do an hour on assignment when DC's are in bed

I did two hours studying last night so if I write it down here and then people remind me I actually get it done.

I really want to know where SC has been for her weekend away.

OK my work is on my desk so the sooner I get started the sooner I get finished. Have a good day everyone.

optimisticmumma · 09/11/2009 07:28

Morning all... Tea on, coffee on, pastries warming in the oven ( I can dream can't I?).

Hope you all had a good weekend. Must admit my flying involved flying around dropping off and picking up my 3 DC in 3 different places!!

Today :
Go to work!
Marking (bound to be some)
Morning routine
Mission
Christmas mission ( I for one am looking forward to belt looping in pants!!)
Take sheets for a service wash at launderette(still don't have a tumble dryer - coming on Weds!)

Have a great day. Look forward to hearing about SC weekend

elliepac · 09/11/2009 07:34

Morning everyone,

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

This morning I have:-

S/S bathroom
DW on
Washing on

Tonight I must:-

Mark coursework
Cook dinner
MIssion
Evening routine.

Somewhere amongst all that I must go to work on a horrible, cold, foggy morning...booooo.

Come on SC don't keep us in suspense any longer . Have you been with the aliens as per PA's theory?

StillCounting · 09/11/2009 08:25

Morning all!

The aliens have landed !!

Thanks very much for thinking of me everyone!! I missed you all!! Hope you had good weekends too ....

Ended up in a lovely little "hostellerie" in the Ardennes - wonderful autumnal walks in the woods (trees are amazing colours this year - dd came home with half the forest; stacks of leaves, twigs, acorns and "fairy cups", which have now been laid out to dry on newspaper in the kitchen), roaring fires, horse riding and fabulous grub, although I did pass on the pan-seared calves udder (a local speciality) that was on offer and opted for the casserole of wild boar instead!!

Got back yesterday around 5pm only for dh to tell me that a friend was passing through town and was coming to dinner and he'd forgotten to tell me!!! Friend arrived at 5.05pm ... but fortunately we had done some "farmer's market" type shopping in the morning and so we basically ate the contents of our car boot washed down with copious amounts of alchohol... friend didn't leave until 11.30pm so this morning was a bit of a mad scramble and dh and I are feeling slightly worse for wear but fortunately still able to feel the benefits of the w/e's healthy country air!!

Also, thanks to Flying and the support of you lovely lot, house was in reasonable state when we left so spontaneous trips/dinners now easier to accommodate!!

Thanks for coffee and pastries and for posting steps Droitwitch ...

What's all this about tying bin bags to our trousers???

Sorry to hear about your ds's accident MM hope you are all recovered now

Late for work so forgive me please if I just wave to Elliepac Optimistic HavingaD (well done on your cracking start this morning) POA (good luck tackling the dust today) and Dreamteam (hope you are feeling a bit better), Mrs Dinky, Pluto and PushmePullYOu (hope you are OK)

After work must:
-tidy and clean up sitting room (finished tidying kitchen at 1.30 am this morning)

  • DO WASHING
  • the bed-making we didn't do this w/e
  • look at today's zone/mission/baby-step etc

Goal for this month: sort home office!!

Bye all and see you later!

Pluto · 09/11/2009 09:57

STGH How lovely. I am very sounds like a really good weekend.

Here on Pluto no housework of any substance got done over the weekend. I did a roast for friends on Saturday evening, had a very late night and too much to drink so yesterday was a complete write off apart from loading the d/w about 5 times and watching stuff on the Sky+. I feel better today but I am definitely going on a detox and must aim for 3 runs this week. I've got DB's puppy later this morning so want to get a lot sorted before she arrives.

Here's my list...

d/w loaded done
w/m on (first of 3 loads) done
kitchen tidy and shiny sink done
dressed to shoes and beds made done to do
s/s
make shopping list and meal plan
shop
post weekend tidy up everywhere
bottle bank [wearing cloak of shame - did we really drink that much?]
dry and sort laundry
plant spring bulbs into pots

If I get all this done I can have a real treat morning tomorrow as babe is going to the c/m - so I really want to clear the decks.

MrsDinky · 09/11/2009 10:57

Morning all, SC - sounds like you had a lovely time.

Electricity has been off here this morning, so have had to adapt todays list somewhat.

S+S - done
Clean kitchen worktops and floor - done
Empty DW and reload - done
Half an hour of sorting out old bank statements etc for shredding later - done (going to count this as tossing 27 things)
Cooker hood, yes, it's pretty bad
De-cobweb ceilings
Go to Lidl to buy cheap Lego subsitute
Hoover

havingagiraffe · 09/11/2009 11:01

Morning all, bit of a late start here today as up for a couple of hours last night and so DS then decided to have a lie in until 8:30.
Keep telling myself the sleep is more important as I need it to function, but still a little gutted as Monday morning is usually a good start to the week for me.

Never mind! List for today

Make bed done
Express milk done
Clean bathrooms usually done by now
Breakfast for me and DS done
Empty DW done
Tidy kitchen done
Wash nappies & hang out done
Mission
5 min room rescue - dining room

Actually I feel a bit better now as have done more than I thought. Time for a coffee then

Pluto at your trip to the bottle bank - yes you really DID drink that much. I have to say your Sunday sounds lovely and you will make up for it by running - you crazy wonam.

SC What a great weekend. Fairy cups? Are they empty acorn bits? Sounds like a lovely sunday evening too. I know it's not organised but don't you think it's nice to squeeze every last drop out of the weekend.

MrsDinky · 09/11/2009 11:37

Cooker hood done (grid bits in DW, rest of it thoroughly degreased with Kitchen Power), feeling a bit icky from the fumes, yuck. Off to find my feather duster (have to hide it so DCs don't use it as a tickling stick).

Pluto · 09/11/2009 15:12

Ha ha - just seen today's mission. The new charcoal liner for the extractor has been on the worktop for the last week. I just couldn't face the grease. Looks like the fairy has finally caught up with me.

tibni · 09/11/2009 15:38

Hi all,

I've been at work today and when I got back dh, puppy and I had a lovely walk up the castle.

Just waiting for dd to dawdle home and ds to be dropped off by his taxi.

Loved the xmas mission link - the thought of pants made me look! LOL

Managed to s/s and get beds done this morning before leaving at 7.30am. Last night I was actually organised so all the dc's bags, lunches, forms, home/school diary was done so dh only had to push them out the door.

Dh has hoovered downstairs and tidied around so brownie points for him. Bedrooms need a quick look at but not too bad.

To do

Roast dinner - assuming dd feels ok, she had tummy ache last night

pack lunch, bags

tidy master bedroom

mission!

Waves to all - sorry no time for individual posts but taxi just arrived!

elliepac · 09/11/2009 17:18

Evening all,

SC sounds like an absolutely wonderful weekend

Just peeking in before I get going although have already put dinner on (making chicken soup..get me..domestic goddess that I am )

Have brought coursework home which is a first because have been deliberately leaving it at school so I don't have to do it . So am determined to break the back of this (so to speak) while watching Flash Forward tonight.

Will check in later to report lack of progress.

optimisticmumma · 09/11/2009 17:54

Evening all - what a wonderful weekend SC. We were all a bit envious of you to say the least!!

Elliepac know what you mean about putting off the marking. have bought a load of Science books home to check through....

Tibni dog walk sounds lovely and so does your DH. Have to say this flying thing rubs off doesn't it? My DH now making the bed to flylady standards!!

Hi to Pluto+, Mrs Dinky, HAG* sounds like you're all going great guns!

PA hope your wet room is coming on!

Gotta go - all three DC need to use computers tonight for homework (Elliepac - DC1 doing history A level - eek!)

Catch up later - need to do missions etc first....

optimisticmumma · 09/11/2009 17:56

Whoops - didn't mean to miss you off Walkthe D!
Hi to anyone else I missed...

havingagiraffe · 09/11/2009 18:57

Ahh ellie and OM I see you have bought your work 'home for a visit' - the phrase I use for bringing work home and then taking it back the next day. I'm sure you will both do it though - I'll be checking tomorrow

Tibni Sounds like DH is in the good books - bless him. Has he broken something expensive?

Mrs Dinky I am very disappointed in you, I hoped everyone would ignore the cooker hood thing so that I could and you've done yours already and got pluto on to it too - no excuses for me now.

Done pretty well with my list today and have just shined my sink (first time for while).

Make bed done
Express milk done
Clean bathrooms done
Breakfast for me and DS done
Empty DW done
Tidy kitchen done
Wash nappies & hang out done
Mission done
5 min room rescue - dining room done
Sort new mortgage rate done
Get home ins quote done

Going to get my clothes ready for am and get in my PJ's

Mum coming over tomorrow so at least the house will be OK so she'll only have to moan about the Baby-led weaning (Giraffe chants "must stay calm and positive over and over!!)

MiniMarmite · 09/11/2009 19:55

A bit scared to post today as I see some of you are cleaning cooker hoods - you are too good! Well done

I finally did my ironing last night and actually it was ok. Isn't that like most things?!

SC your weekend away sounds wonderful. Glad you had a good time.

As you say HAG remain calm at all BLW comments!

Just had a long day at work so haven't had time to catch up on all your posts but a big 'hello' to everyone and thanks for asking about DS - he's doing well thanks. How's DD's stick injury ellie?

Anyone heard from GoldenSnitch? Hope she is ok. Must be due quite soon.

I left home early this morning but did a quick S&S and made the bed. Now need to clean kitchen,
hang washing out,
sort clothes for tomorrow and get all bags packed as I have to go into the office and DS to CM,
Babystep and mission
Belt loop thing
shine sink

That should do it.
