Everyone welcome!

Here you can, for one month:

  • repeat or start baby steps
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone
  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering

As Christmas is approaching I'll also post Christmas missions.

I'll post links early in the morning on the relevant day while I'm, making the coffee and brewing tea.

Good luck!

Aw Thanks everyone! You are such a caring lot!! PA I was more knackered!

Well done to your DS Elliepac - writing always seems to be the bugbear of boys in particular in my experience but the golden board should give him a lot of confidence!

Nice to 'see' you again SC. You're entitled to a few days off after your manic few days before and with your guest!!!

Hi to everyone. Am off out to a comedy night later on so some RL wine for me!!

optimisticmumma · 05/11/2009 18:02

Forgot to say well done to PA on your dentist visit you must be so relieved.

Why is it that I want to use the to represent the need for a and not to say 'I have nothing to say on this matter'? This is going to get me into trouble I can feel it.

Also I think we should ask mumsnet for a wine emoticon to represent 'I want a big glass of something white or red'!!

Oh well...

positiveattitudeonly · 05/11/2009 18:08

On my computer looks like it did last night with the wiggly mouth. On my laptop it looks like a duck on red nose day? What is going on?????

Thanks for the messages.

MiniMarmite · 05/11/2009 18:27

Evening All

I forgot to say 'welcome' to Citybranch and Meltedchocolate earlier!

OM fabulous news about your DD, that's a real milestone.

Ellie well done to your DS on his writing, how lovely.

Glad the dentist was OK PA. My Mum had a phobia for a long time, certainly my whole life, until she found a really gentle and understanding dentist a couple of years ago. Don't feel silly about it, it is entirely understandable.

Well the good news here is that DS is MUCH better .

I am very confused about the biscuit thing - it has always looked as it does now!

Now I just need to clear away his dinner things and sort out some washing and strip bed.

Then dinner will be arriving from next door . Will definitely be having some RL wine tonight. Cheers everyone!

havingagiraffe · 05/11/2009 19:16

Haven't been able to read everything and now I'm dying to know what the 'porridge debacle' was, OM it sounds very exciting. Fantastic news about your DD. You must be so proud and relieved that she has made such a big step. Must be horrible for a teenager to not be able to keep up with their mates.

Surely the could mean a large glass of red/white as our noses would end up that colour if we drank that much of it in RL.

Proud Mummy points to ellie too, brilliant for a boy to be singled out for their writing.

PA Well done on the dentist and hope you are keeping up with the dustbusting.

MM NO way are you a fraud - you are like my flying heroine - (mmm giraffe wonders if MM really sits about in her slippers rather than flying brilliantly AND getting her DH to do it too )

Waves to everyone else as that's it for me - I am in my PJ's and will be going to bed very soon. Large glass of white for me as in RL it will be camomile tea.

I am much cheered up as met baby group for coffee and they were so sweet about my lack of sleep - loads of offers to take DS in day so I can kip - they made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

walkthedinosaur · 05/11/2009 20:29

Haven't had time to read through everyone's posts but it looks like you've all been busy. OA well done to you and your DD for your shopping day, I'm not really a shopping fan so 5 hours would have been too much for me - thank goodness for the internet is what I say.

PA well done on the dentist I'm not quite inspired yet to make an appointment to fix my broken tooth but you've made me think about it .

So not much flying done here today, just morning routine and then work. My lovely friends have had a bonfire party tonight so took DC's there straight from school and we're home now so I've shoved tucked them lovingly into bed and am now going to guzzle a large glass of wine. Everyone was drinking around me tonight but I was driving - this is what happens when your DH works away during the week, you're always the designated driver.

Sleep well everyone - HAG I hope you have a really restful night.

See you all tomorrow.

elliepac · 05/11/2009 20:36

Well after doing pretty well all week, have fallen off tonight. Had a very busy day, and got headache so it was take-away and pj's all round. Am currently mn-ing from under my duvet in bed . On a positive note, because i have been quite good this week it won't take me forever to get back on track tomorrow and most places are still tidy

HAG so glad to hear you have a good support network but please make sure you take those lovely ladies up on their offer won't you. DS was a terrible sleeper for years and I know how demoralising it can be.

MM glad DS is feeling much better. I really must get my neighbours sorted...they don't deliver...how inconsiderate and downright rude

PA glad to hear you fought the dentist and won.

Yo SC nice to 'see' you..sounds like you are enjoying half term.

Waves to everyone she has not mentioned afraid i haven't the energy to scroll back to the last page ...quite impressive lists again.

Drugs and bed for me tonight...so will have to pass on the wine which is very hard to do!

elliepac · 05/11/2009 20:39

oops x-posts with WTD sounds like you've had a lovely day and I hope DS enjoyed his birthday.

dreamteamgirl · 05/11/2009 20:43

Duck with red nose on my work & home laptops

Cant think straight so just hi to all, and well done to OM's DD and ellies DS
Well done and brave congrats to POA

Sleep vibes to the off spring of giraffe and DEM

Chest no better- thanks for asking SC and whomever else it was and a nasty pain round back when I breathe so back to bed- thank god for my au pair today. Being ill as a single mum is the worst time

EinsteinBentLight · 05/11/2009 20:59

droitwitchmum · 05/11/2009 21:34

Thank you for all your birthday wishes
As promised done very little flying today but feel I've been a bit lax all week so feel free to leave me messages while I'm at work tomorrow so I feel guilty and pull my finger out when I get home. DH is away friday/saturday so I'm planning to get those missions where you really need daylight done on Saturday afternoon. DS will be worn out after swimming and a trip to the library so I'll get some peace while I declutter etc.
All I'm doing tonight is clear the debris from the kitchen and S & S bathroom - DH has poorly tummy and keeps having to run in so it could do with a freshen up
Keep the wine coming. Anyone for chocolate cake?

OP posts:
EinsteinBentLight · 05/11/2009 22:01

I'll check in tonight for celebratory wine

OP posts:
walkthedinosaur · 06/11/2009 07:12

Morning lovely ladies how are you all today - just wanted to tell you IT'S FRIDAY don't know why I'm excited about it, my work isn't coming in till this afternoon so I'm going to be working all weekend but still, it's Friday and we've got through another week.

Didn't do much yesterday, so today I'm going to blitz the dining room and get my feather duster out as per the mission.

Clean kitchen floor
Mop bathroom floor
Laundry

And I must, must, must finish my studying so maybe a couple of hours with my head down and get my assignment sent off - when I started the course my boss said it's got to be finished by March and I said no problem, I'm so slow I'm not even halfway through and I want to start a French OU in February so I really need to get my finger out.

I think that's about it. Hope you're feeling a bit better this morning ellipac and HAG that you got that good night's sleep you need.

Have a great day everyone.

positiveattitudeonly · 06/11/2009 07:29

DWM - I am disappointed that I have to move abroad to be handed a drink this morning!

I will pour my own OJ!

Shouldn't be on here, so will cach up later. Must go and do sandwiches and breakfast for DH. He seems to be running late this morning, so I know he will appear in a panic in a moment!

I was encouraged that some of you all find the dentist really difficult. I thought I was the only one!!

Catch up later. Hopefully today will calm down a bit. I feel a crazy day approaching!

StillCounting · 06/11/2009 07:33

Morning everyone

Best of British tea for me thanks Droitwitch although dh has 'gone native' and drinks strong black coffee first thing ...but it gives me the shakes... Here are some freshly baked croissants and pistolets (light, white breakfast rolls)....

Thanks for the steps!! Bed-making is compulsory weekly family activity in Counting household (every Sat)!!

Hello WtD - good luck with your assignment.. (what are you studying if you don't mind me asking?)

Dreamteam - I hope you are OK this morning. Pain around back of chest sounds nasty ...do you think you should see doc? Hats off to you single mums ... I don't know how you do it ....

Right - having gone wildly awry during hols this week - I want things back in shape before the w/e so have a long list and only this morning in which to do it:

tidy and clean kitchen and shine sink
tidy sitting room and dust and hoover
tidy master bedroom and dust and hoover
tidy bathroom and clean
sort more laundry and do a couple of loads

The only bright side is that owing to previous Flying, the rooms aren't quite as bad as they would usually be after a week's neglect.

Back after lunch and will be Flying properly again from 9th ....

If you see me back on here before then, please chase me off with a broom and microfibre cloth!

Good luck with your lists today!

StillCounting · 06/11/2009 07:34

telepathic crossed posts again PA - morning!! [hands over freshly squeezed OJ]

optimisticmumma · 06/11/2009 08:20

Morning all! Thanks for the tea DWM. I need at least 2 cups this morning before I can get going!

Hope you are feeling a bit better Elliepac and DTG I agree with SC sounds like you need to see doc to me... Hope you had some lovely sleep HAG - makes everything just so much better!

Got to get a move on today as yesterday was a shopping fest, so today my list is...

washing on done
DW on
Boys to station with no arguing done
Change 3 beds
Do feather duster mission
Ironing again
Cooking - to empty freezer
Tescos
Post letters/bills
Get boots reheeled
Put away shopping from yesterday and write down what I bought for whom (?)

Have a lovely day one and all - catch up with you all later.

Thanks again for all your lovely comments about my DD. Life is definitely back to normal!

MrsDinky · 06/11/2009 09:13

Morning everyone, tea for me too, a busy day ahead. Am still getting used to who you all are and what you are doing, also using Bold in posts, so please excuse lack of individual greetings for now, the intent is there!

A longish list today, most of which is to be done in the next hour before socialising starts at 10 with friends for coffee.

Clear garden of firework debris and put washing line back up
Strip beds and wash sheets - done
Hang out sheets
Empty and reload DW
Sweep kitchen and hall floors
Clean bathroom
Go to tip again
Coffee time with friends
Hoover upstairs (been meaning to all week)
Online bankking
Re-make beds
Filing - as per mission. It's going to take a hell of a lot longer than 2 minutes though!

MiniMarmite · 06/11/2009 09:20

Morning All

Just checking in to get steps and mission...then I have to pick up all the shredded tissue that DS has put over the floor!

Freshly squeezed OJ, yummy!

Have a wonderful day everyone, will catch up properly later.

havingagiraffe · 06/11/2009 09:28

Morning all - cup of tea for me please, although hot chocolate and some of those french breakfasty things sounds lovely.

MUCH better night here. Just a bit of DS sleeping on me at for about an hour but OK as I watched piers morgan and danni minogue Question time. After that a couple of feeds but no big 2 hour PJ party - feel like a new woman.

I'm taking a friend up on her kind offer of help and she is picking DS up in 15 mins to take her for a walk in her double buggy with her DS who was born on the same day as mine. Am going to do a combination of flying and then sit and read my book with a coffee before meeting them at baby yoga- aaaaah!

Hopefully will have a chance to check back later and catch up properly.

DTG Get your pain checked - I admire you - I am knackered if DP is away for a night or two.

positiveattitudeonly · 06/11/2009 10:07

Quick peek while waiting for some printing to come off at work. SSShhhhhhh!!!!!!

Right, SC I am beginning to think that you are stalking me, you keep x posting with me!

HA Make the most of your time. No getting that hoover out! Feet up, coffee and cake, I say!

Mrs Dinky - I ahve been here since August and am still having trouble with everyones name, so don't worry. Halloween was a nightmare (ha, ha, ) when everyone changed names too. It doesn't take a lot to confuse me!

Morning went from bad to worse. Late grumpy DH, then new 6 pints of milk spilt all over my fridge and floor - sort of went gloopy mixing with the builders dust on the floor - YUCK!!!
Had to run hurry to garage to replace the milk for the workmen, which then made me late for work too!!!! I think my prediction of a bad day was prophetic. Can I go to bed now and wake up tomorrow morning??

tibni · 06/11/2009 10:24

Happy Birthday DWM - hope you have a great day.

I'm determined to have blitz day today. Things have been slipping a bit and I want to get back in control before the end of the day.

have a good day all

MiniMarmite · 06/11/2009 13:05

Hi All

HAG glad you had a better night last night. LOL at being your flying hero. I do spend an extraordinary amount of time procrastinating and eating chocolate in my slippers flying these days so the house looks like a pigsty very clean and tidy .

Ellie, yes you really MUST sort your neighbours out! Unfortunately ours are leaving us to go back to NZ permanently in 6 weeks time so we are . Actually they are too - not sure they are feeling quite ready for it yet after being here for 8 years.

DTG how are you today? I think we're all a bit worried about you.

My list for today (this seems to be the only way I actually get things done these days as I feel bad if I post here and then don't do what I've written!):

S&S - done
make bed - done
washing on - done

  • DW unload/reload - done
  • make lentil and sausage casserole
  • hang washing out and put another load on etc
  • vacuum rugs (again!)
  • shopping for weekend
  • babystep
  • mission
  • think about Christmas a bit
  • and please nag me about my ironing!
StillCounting · 06/11/2009 14:37

Hello fellow fledglings ...

[SC steps out from behind lamp-post from where she has been stalking POA and wonders why she feels conspicuous when dressed totally appropriately in denim tabard with three microfibre cloths in top pocket, lace up shoes, dark glasses and feather duster tucked behind left ear..]

Just checking in before heading off (late)for a bit of family time with dh and dd. Not sure what we are doing yet - just getting in car with an overnight bag and heading off!

Have great success to report!! Even though my house is still a disaster area in many places, my botched attempts at Flying for the past couple of months with the support of you lovely lot must be making a real difference because I have managed to get nearly ALL of my list done this morning!! Yippeee!!!! Can't BELIEVE it!! Would never have been possible a few months ago as would still be clearing paths in the clutter. Even better, it didn't feel as though it was a huge effort, it is starting to come automatically ... unbelieveable ...!!!

Waves to ShoppingVeggie Optimistic PushmePullYou and anyone I have missed!
tidy and clean kitchen and shine sink done- 'tis a bit cluttery but gleaming
tidy sitting room and dust and hoover done -looking spacious and uncluttered
tidy master bedroom and dust and hoover -done still a bit cluttered but much better than before
tidy bathroom and cleandone gleaming and uncluttered
sort more laundry and do a couple of loads - OK well I have only done one load today and I have had to pack us slightly wierd and wonderful clothes for our spontaneous trip but we all do have clean underwear!!!

MiniMarmite- how is that ironing pile looking? (And boy do I feel a fraud asking you that!!!)

Hope your blitz is going well tibni PA - I won't say "no use crying over ....etc etc" Hope your day gets better!!

So glad you had a good night HAvingaG

Hope your list is going well MrsDinky and I have a similar "filing" problem which covers 2 desks and considerable part of my office floor. Courage! We will get through it!

That's all for now except to say "Speak to us Dreamteam (if you are up to Mnsetting of course). How are you feeling? " I hope no news is good news and that you are having a good sleep

Take care everyone and have a good w/e if I'm not back before Sunday evening!
