Everyone welcome!

Here you can, for one month:

  • repeat or start baby steps
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone
  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering

As Christmas is approaching I'll also post Christmas missions.

I'll post links early in the morning on the relevant day while I'm, making the coffee and brewing tea.

Good luck!

MrsDinky and sleepisnotoptional - I am in true awe of your filing. I thought it all went in a pile and then in a carrier bag in my cupboard of doom . I think you are going to shame me into action (that's a good thing by the way!)

Big waves to OM, WTD, PA, SC, DTG, shoppingveggie DWM and anyone else i've forgotten (there's bound to be someone...if it's you please forgive me...it's early )

droitwitchmum · 05/11/2009 06:37

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me etc etc

Good morning all - thanks for coffee elliepac

Welcome aboard citybranch and meltedchocolate! Just keep popping back, even if you've done nothing for coffee/tea in the morning and wine in the evenings

Today's babystep is here. You might want to put today as a consolidating one so those newcomers can have a bit of a catchup and learn how to dress to shoes and/or shine sinks as appropriate

Todays' mission is something I've been trying to get done for the last couple of days and not managed. Not sure it'll get done today either. Was going to have a day off for wine drinking etc

Finally Christmas! That deserves a

Have a good day everyone!

DWM Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear DWM happy birthday to you.

Hope you have a fabulous day and drink lots of wine

walkthedinosaur · 05/11/2009 06:53

DWM Happy birthday to you - you share a birthday with my DS2, bet you didn't look at your pile of presents, burst into tears and wowl that there's not many.

meltedchocolate you can do this, we're all very supportive, since starting this I now allow people into my house for a coffee. Never been done before in the last four years!

Morning all, back to work properly for me so I've got to get through all that typing before I do anything, also a friend is having a bonfire party tonight straight after school, so I don't think much flying is going on here other than my normal routines - but that's the joy of flying isn't it, you can have a day off and things don't get too crazy.

Have a good day every one!

EinsteinBentLight · 05/11/2009 07:03

DWM happy birthday!

Happy Birthday DWM - will you be touring your local supermarkets to see if you can get ID'ed.

Can't update anything else just checking in so you know I'm still alive.

Horrible in the giraffe household. DP has flu and DS sleeping has gone from difficult to down-right unmanageable.

I am officially a zombie, after 4 nights of it and totally fed up.

As you can imagine not much sink shining going on here

Boo Hoo!

optimisticmumma · 05/11/2009 09:02

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! DWM

Happy Birthday to your DS too WTD! Hope you all have a lovely day.

Ellipac and MM I too am a Spooks fan and all I can say about Malcolm is !

HAG so sorry everyone is ill/playing up! Makes life very frustrating for you! Do something fun and forget the flying.

Happy Birthday DWM. HA - Oh I feel for you and your sleep deprivation. Hope it all starts to improve soon.
I to Meltedchocolate & Citybranch.

A quick update from me this morning:

DW unloaded, loaded and on again
WM unloaded, loaded and on again
Tumbler unloaded, loaded and on again. (rain forecast is my excuse!!)
Kitchen worktops cleaned again! (I could do this 20 times a day and it would still need more, but I am trying)
Sandwiches done - only x3 today as DH off, DD3 not in school,I am off too and DD2 wanted money. So easy today!
Breakfasts done
Beds made
swish & swipe done.

Just trying to calm my nerves as I am off to the dentist.

This MN moves quick doesn't it? Wht happened to the "biscuit" emoticon from yesterday. I didn't get a chance to put that anywhere. so will make up for it with a ,

Massive waves to everyone. Sorry for my lack of personal messages. I ma just useless at doing all the scrolling and remembering. I do not want anyone to think it is because i don't care. I do!! Believe me.

Off to clean kitchen again. I have to say it is a lot easier now that I do not have clutter. I am feeling as if I am on top of it, only another 4 weeks and 2 days to go - if it goes to plan, but when does it ever?

Oh and thanks for the tip about the bank statements. Mine is all online, and I am changing my account next week, so very timely. Thank you to whoever that was. I will print them all out when I am at work tomorrow.

Have a good day everyone. I will try and join you all for birthday cake and drink later. - this looks like a chick to me? Is is supposed to be for red nose day?

MrsDinky · 05/11/2009 09:22

Happy Birthday DWM - you are not as old as me!

Hello everyone else and welcome MeltedChoc and Citybranch.

A question - how are you supposed to get out of bed get showered dressed etc before DCs hear you and leap out of bed demanding breakfast? Mine are way too young to get their own. So I get all our breakfasts, and make packed lunch, assemble all bags in hall, and make sure they get dressed before they watch telly play constructively while I shower, dress etc last.

Todays list
Unload DW
Washing on x 2 - 1st lot done
More shredding
Check how many of last years Xmas cards are leftover (going to Phoenix cards party, don't want to buy too many)
See if there are any more huge boxes of paper in the loft
Clean fingerprints off windows
Sainsburys
Boots to spend No 7 vouchers

Pluto · 05/11/2009 09:30

Snotface child did sleep a bit yesterday in the end, so ironing got done, hurrah!

All morning routines done and about to check today's tasks from the link. Will do my best.

Today I also need to do the garden - windy weather has scattered bunny straw everywhere.

dreamteamgirl · 05/11/2009 10:18

Hi all

well done Pluto and good news on DS

MrsDinky It IS very hard to get up before your kids if they wake when they hear you moving about. Mine I have to wake these dyas so I can jump up and shower before I go and nudge him. Are yours the awake and waiting for 7am so they are allowed to get up type?

POA I think it is meant to be like a gingerbreadman's face?

Waves to OM and stands near by in hope that DWM will think that cake is joint efffort from both of us

Happy Birthday to DWM and WTD's DS

HA hope everyone is better soon and well done on keeping going -this too shall pass and . Why is it WE never get to pass out?

Hi t DEM are you getting anymore sleep yet? Well done on taming the awkward year group BTW. You must have the right attitude to them if everyone else finds them hard

Waves to ellie and grabs more tea- had 5 cups and still not seeing straight LOL

welcome to meltedchocolate and at least you KNOW its your inner child rebelling- that has to be the first step

Done nothing except morning routine, feel like chest infection is about to take hold. Gawd why do I post here ... I feel like a fraud LOL

hellsbelles · 05/11/2009 10:42

DMM - happy birthday to you!

on track but DD won't give me time to type out list without getting in to mischief

MrsDinky · 05/11/2009 11:23

I have one of each type of child, DS wakes at about 6.45 and goes to the toilet, plays nicely till I get up. DD gets woken, either by DS wanting to play, or by me when she really has to get up. To be fair, they are very good, they stay upstairs and play till we emerge, at weekends this can sometimes be an hour or so (bliss) but, the second they hear a footstep on the landing DS wants his breakfast. So, in the grand scheme of things, could be an awful lot worse, but does stand in the way of me being first dressed.

I just went up to the loft to dig out last years Xmas cards and emerged an hour later with enough stuff to fill the car to the roof and take to the tip, yay!

elliepac · 05/11/2009 11:31

Hello, just a sneaky peek at work when I am supposed to be working....

Have already said happy bday to DWM but also a big happy birthday to WTD's DS. How old is he? Hope you are having a lovely day. Lol at what he said this morning...children never cease to amaze do they?

MrsDinky I am never dressed, showered etc. before DC's up. My morning routine is exactly the same as yours and the fat fairy hasn't put a hex on me yet so I think we should be ok. I figured as long as I am doing stuff it still counts as I get up, do morning routine/sort DC's out and then letwatch tv play constructively while I get ready for work

Hope everyone is having a good day.

MiniMarmite · 05/11/2009 12:38

Hi All

I'm also having a sneaky peek at lunchtime!

Happy Birthday DWM and WTD's DS, have a fab day.

LOL DTG I've been feeling like a fraud too but none of us really of course - just trying to do our best and it doesn't always go to plan!

Am working from home but have a few spare minutes here and there. Have done

  • S&S
  • made bed
  • washing on
  • kitchen/table cleaned and cleared and DW unloaded and loaded

To do:

  • washing out
  • fold away dry washing (and create ironing pile for tomorrow)
  • vacuum rugs
  • change bed linen

Our neighbours are coming over tonight and bringing us dinner (easier than us going to them because DS will be asleep)!

ok, back to work!

MiniMarmite · 05/11/2009 12:39

Hope dentist goes well PA

citybranch · 05/11/2009 13:44

Thanks for warm welcomes!
My tentative list....

So far I have:
Unloaded DW
set DW on empty with cleaner inside
Cleared hall of clutter
washed paintwork on banisters it was filthy!
Hoovered living room but have snapped belt in hoover so can do no more!

To do:
Order new hoover belts online
Clear toys away downstairs while DS at nursery
Put washing away
Shine sink

optimisticmumma · 05/11/2009 16:45

Just nipped on while I rest my weary feet.
I forget how tiring shopping with a teenage DD is - we were out for 5 hours but at least we got a load of Christmas shopping done. Luckily I could blame Grandma's age for the fact that 'we have to go home now!'

Actually I am so delighted to be able to do this with my DD now as this time last year she was in the throes of CFS/ME and couldn't even do 2 lessons a day at school. She was ill for 2 years and has been well now since March so today is yet more affirmation of her health

Sorry I just had to share my joy with you lovely lot!!

See you all later - better do some flying!

elliepac · 05/11/2009 16:53

Just peeking in after work, will be back later for a proper catch up but just wanted to thank you OM for sharing your joy and am so pleased that your DD is well again. .

Am a proud mummy tonight because DS is on the golden board at school tomorrow for his writing - never his strong point.

Anyway, must go pick up DD and fly.

See you later for wine

positiveattitudeonly · 05/11/2009 17:16

Just flying past. Have to add my absolute delight for you OM (and DD). Who was more knackered you, or her? Did you think you would be typing that a year ago? Mine's out to a firework display tonight! Enjoy your tipple tonight and celebrate.

Right, everyone else,

MM - thank you for asking about the dentist. It went ok actually. I have had a bit of a phobia about it and it was getting ridiculous. I always went to the dentist, but about 10 years ago I started to be sick with worry the morning of the appointment. It got worse and worse and by 2 years ago I was sick constantly for a week before my appointment and could not sleep. So I stopped going! Eventually, earlier this year I went to my lovely GP to ask for his help, cos I knew I needed to go. I was referred to a lady who specialises in idiots morons people like me! I ahve survived today without needing valium (not kidding here!) or throwing up. Big step for silly me!!

DTG - DOH gingerbreadman of course! But now it has changed to that weird looking thing again. . My favourite is probably, cos it is the way I feel most connection with when I read posts on MN!!

Right, nothing typed about flying. I am very impressed with all your lists.
I am just into dust management mode, but have just made some toffee with DS in exchange for not actually taking him to a firework display tonight. I told him he can sit toastie warm by the fire with hot chocolate and homemade toffee and watch for local fireworks out of the window. I think the words "party pooper" may have been lipread over the noise of the masonry drill!

have a good evening all. In for virual wine tonight as I am laying off the RL stuff to try and feel better in the morning!

StillCounting · 05/11/2009 17:34

Hello everyone!

Still in holiday mode here and we have been out of the house most of the time so feel as if I have lost touch with all that's going on here ...

What's all this about early morning baking and biscuit emoticons???

A warm welcome to CityBranch MeltedChoc and MrsDinky

Many happy returns to you Droitwitch - am glad your list is small today - hope you have a lovely day!! [Passes over glass of bubbly]

And happy birthday too to WtD's ds!! Hope you had fun today!!

That's a lovely post Optimistic - so happy for you and your dd!!! Congratulations to you both on getting through what must have been a very tough time indeed ....great you had such a lovely day.

Yo Elliepac - positivity bouncing off this thread tonight - congratulations to your ds too!

Dreamteamgirl hope you are beating that chest infection and if you feel a fraud posting here then I should be hung out to dry!!! I've only done very miminal flying this week on Mon & Tues - house has gone to pot since then - and I am feeling well so no excuses- have just got lazy because of holidays!!! So you are not allowed to feel a fraud - we all have ups and downs - take it steady until you feel better!

Please will everyone give me a swift kick up the bum stern motivational talk tomorrow morning because I want to get back on track before the w/e

Gosh you sound busy in your house PA - all that loading and unloading of machines. Well done!!! Hope it wasn't too gruesome at the dentist!! How are the builders bums ?

Courage to HAvingaG hope everyone starts feeling better soon and forget flying for the moment - cocoon and rest x

Heeellllllooooo to ShoppingVeggie - so sweet of you to keep reminding me!!! I'm still looking for that card!! I will find it ....!! Remember, don't try and take on the whole house at once - if it's anything like mine, it's too much to contemplate all at once and you'll get despondent. Remember the mantra.... 15 mins here! 15 mins here! How are you doing on the baby-steps? Have you started decluttering? Don't even contemplate cleaning until you feel you are OK with those two elements of the system. I feel a bit of a fraud saying this because I have fallen off the wagon a bit this week but have faith, have faith, we'll get there!!!

Hello to Hellesbelles MrsMarmite Pluto, Einstein (thanks for much needed accounts/filing advice)

I'm sure I must have missed someone, apologies, waves to them too!!

Back tomorrow morning.

SC raises glass to all of you who are celebrating

and to everyone who is struggling - a bit of cyber champagne might help!!

Cheers!!

StillCounting · 05/11/2009 17:38

Must be telepathy PA we have x posts again!!

Well done at the dentist!! I have dreadful phobia too .... how did you get over it? I read somewhere that if you hold a heavy object in your hands like a telephone directory, it stops the retching reflex (but could be an entire load of nonsense of course)!!! Well done for facing your fear and have a good night's sleep - you deserve it!!

Ohhhh this is the biscuit emoticon - fabulous
