Over here everyone!

OP posts:
pushmepullyou · 19/10/2009 21:14

minimarmite was checking in after the weekend and saw your post. So sorry to hear your news

droitwitchmum · 19/10/2009 21:18

minimarmite so sorry to hear your sad news . I agree with everyone else - take things easy and let your friends look after you rather than the other way round.

droitwitchmum · 20/10/2009 06:34

Good morning early flutterers. Coffee is on

elliepac · 20/10/2009 06:39

MOrning, droitwitch strong with milk and one sugar please. Am sat here trying to decide whether to go to work or not. Still feeling grotty with bug (have had a relapse) but feel terribly guilty if don't go. On the positive side, tis my wedding anniversary today, 8 years .

minimarmite hope you are as ok as you can be.

DevilsEnticeMadness · 20/10/2009 07:10

If its alright with you will have to pass on the coffee. Need to leave in about 10mins and need to get up.

Thankyou to eveyone for the warm welcome. Sorry to here about your loss minimarmite.

Didnt do even half of list yesterday not going to post a list as it will be heavy on paperwork writing and light on cleaning today. Will try to catch up later as not about during the week days.
congrats on wedding anniversary ellie

droitwitchmum · 20/10/2009 07:15

minimarmite I'll be thinking of you today

ellipac stay home and get well

Coffee (or tea) in hand we all need to get motivated after yesterday's sad news so short list from me this morning - parents evening tonight so no idea how much I'll get done

dressed done
washing on done
unload DW
DS up just
breakfast now
mince out of freezer done
put clothes away in bedroom
15 mins declutter dressing table
dining table hotspot
shine sink

Back later

havingagiraffe · 20/10/2009 08:33

Ellie Stay home, no-one thanks you for struggling in IME and if DP is anything to go by if he goes back before better the bug hangs around for ages, or is that just applicable for men.

Coffee over here please and maybe a pastry too?

Must get on as DS and I slept in today which is lovely but want to get kitchen done plus rest of morning routine before his nap so I can go shopping when he's asleep.

As I'm going out later I am dressed to my shoes but not really attired for kitchen cleaning - mmmm starting to wonder about the tabard Please someone slap me!!

walkthedinosaur · 20/10/2009 08:34

MM thinking of you, hope you're keeping well. Stick your feet up and watch a bit of brain rot on the TV.

"DWM" I'll have that coffee on an intravenous drip if you don't mind.

All going horribly wrong here, not a stroke of housework was done yesterday apart from my morning and evening routines. Got half of that wood stacked, but I'm paying the price today I ache everywhere, particularly hands and wrists which isn't good when I type all day for a living.

DS1 now home and curled up on the sofa sick they're really terrified of Swine Flu here so his teacher virtually had me pinned up against the wall yesterday questioning me, it's just a chesty cough, but he's a mini man he's programmed from birth with man flu. He's gutted he's missing school (as am I) but it's just a sports day today so he wouldn't enjoy it if he's feeling rough.

Still got more of my wood to stack and another full day's work so I doubt any housework is going to get tackled today. Fingers crossed by the end of the week everything sorts itself out.

Have a good one fledgling flyers.

elliepac · 20/10/2009 08:52

CTGH must be a busy lady today so seeing I have decided to take day off work, I might as well make myself useful somewhere

Zone 4

Today's mission

Today's baby step

HAG, I must be a man then because I think that is exactly what has happened to me. Soldiered on all last week when if I had just taken a day off then would be better by now. Muppet that I am. Anyway, am going to snuggle on sofa and watch some trashy tv.

CHeck in later.

nightmareteamgirl · 20/10/2009 09:02

Morning all
Bit of a headache here too- partly self inflicted, partly start of something

Tea would be lovely thanks DWM - I think you are right. MM's news did rock me a bit too, so i think you are spot on to start with caffene and a regroup. Thank you.

Didnt get yesterdays list done- life overtook me somewhat...

Happy anniversary Ellie. I tend to agree- stay home and snuggle up warm. Will do you the power of good.

I am dressed to shoes, bed made, bathroom swished and swiped, DS at school and me nursing 3rd cup of tea whilst I contemplate the drive the work... Sigh... I feel so LAZY!

HavingaG I am sure you can find a funky Cath Kidston or something tabard to make you feel you havent totally lost it!

WalktheD I think you are excused housework after shifting 5 tonnes of wood- take some anti inflammatories for your joints and loads of extra water to flush things through. Even just ibrubrofen will help. Just try and do 15 mins somewhere so you stillfeel in control maybe?

DEM I find it sometimes better not to post lists too, but paperwork is still part fo flying

Anyway, I realy must drve to office now, so see you all later

nightmareteamgirl · 20/10/2009 09:03

Oooh and HAG hope DS is better soon, and well done to Ellie, was just thinking the same

FullMooniMarmite · 20/10/2009 09:20

Morning All

Just checking in briefly to say hello to all you lovely ladies and thank you all for your kind words and support.

I dropped DS off at the childminder today and her own child is sick at home so, after speaking to my Mum, have decided to bring DS home again as I don't want him to catch anything. Mum and Dad are going to come over earlier now and look after DS and me while DH is at work.

Thinking about everything I said and did yesterday it was really a brave face day, just trying to keep going for DS, but it has really hit me this morning.

That's all from me today. Keep the thread bright and cheery, you all make me smile . Oh that's cheesy and unmumsnetty just like all the lovely hugs you've been sending me!

Elliepac happy anniversary and get well soon.

pushmepullyou · 20/10/2009 09:58

Morning All - I'd love a coffee thanks DWM. Mmmm

MM I think it's to be expected that it's really only hitting you today. I had a mmc a few years ago and it certainly took me a while to get it together in my head. Sometimes there's a problem and it's just not meant to be. Doesn't make it any less though.

Ellie sorry you're feeling so rough again - a snoozy day on the sofa sounds ideal!

WalktheD does shifting wood not count as housework? Surely it is a form of decluttering and the garden is an extra room? It certainly will need to be in our house otherwise we won't be able to get out the back door by next summer

to everyone else

List wise I've done my morning routine (still no swish and swipe though ) and got a wash on. Today's list is

Empty living room bin
Empty bathroom bin
Empty bedroom bin
Declutter bedroom
Put away clothes
Change bed
More washing
Hoover kitchen stairs
Evening routine

Shoppingveggie · 20/10/2009 16:39

Hi everyone

Sorry not posted for a while, trying to keep things up to date with house, but not doing too well really.

Am planning on getting back on track tomorrow - thank you for replies on swishing and swiping and CTGH did you find the pedicure number?

Countingthegreyghouls · 20/10/2009 18:11

Hello all

Thank you very much for posting the steps Elliepac particularly when you are feeling so rotten - I hope you manage to beat the bug soon. Happy anniversary to you and your amour x

I'm terribly sorry about this morning everyone

I was typing until the early hours last night on a document that needed to be sent off today - and I work up this morning with a terrible migraine or sinus-type headache behind one eye; couldn't move my head or face looking at a screen until now - so, apologies.

Fullmoonmarmite - it's natural the full force of events should hit you today. It's a tough time. Cosset yourself and take it steady. It's good your parents are around. Thinking of you and your dhx

Hello to ShoppingVeggie - no I haven't - but I WILL - I WILL - good to see you back and don't try and do too much tomorrow - do one small thing and then reward yourself with small treat - I'm not doing brilliantly at the moment either and it's always good to go back to the 15-minute timer method if you are feeling demotivated - works for me most of the time anyway

Well done PushmePullYOu for keeping going so consistently

Couldn't agree more about WalktheD's log decluttering exercise ...it definitely counts!!.. well done!! WalktheD - sorry you are suffering with your wrists and arms - is there a burly pair of 13 yr olds near you who you could employ to shift the wood next time for a bit of cash and a piece of cake? (Hope your ds feels better soon too)

Nightmareteam - I hope your headache is better and that you are not feeling any worse at leat (fresh pineapple good for cold/flu prevention taken early enough)

Waves to HavingAG (you've got me thinking of tabard's now too Droitwitch DEM tibni and anyone I have missed

See you tomorrow everyone as lots to catch up on here!

droitwitchmum · 20/10/2009 19:22

Managed to get this morning's stuff done but nothing yet this evening thanks to parents' evning. DS has been doing really well . I've managed to book his birthday party today and we've been to the venue (bowling) to pick up the invitations etc as well.
So far today I've managed:
dressed done
washing on done
unload DW done
DS up done
breakfast done
mince out of freezer done
put clothes away in bedroom
15 mins declutter dressing table
10 mins room rescue in spare room
dining table hotspot
shine sink

PMPY I haven't added a swish & swipe yet either

Hi Shoppingveggie. Just do a babystep tomorrow and shine your sink even if you manage nothing else

CTGG take it easy and get an early night if possible. You can't beat a head like that you may as well give in to it and go to bed. I feel the need for a glass of something this evening - back later with cork screw

optimisticmumma · 20/10/2009 20:26

Hi all

Just got on here after work. I've had 2 'relapsed' DC here too elliepac so I think it must be particularly nasty bug! Roll on half term!

DH has gone away until Friday so I'm going to try to get more flying done than usual.

Today I've only managed to declutter bedside cupboards and came across old photos and cards which slowed me down but was lovely to look through!

minimarmite I'm sending you another big hug and hoping you're feeling slightly better tonight. Look after yourself!

CTGG Walk the d - take care of yourselves!

DWM well done to DS for being so great (presume it was his parents' eve??) and mine's a large pinot please...

See you all tomorrow...

ParanoiaBigPumkinDestroyer · 20/10/2009 20:33

DWT PMPY I only swish and swipe every other day Obviously if the loo needs doing that doesn't get overlooked!

Babystep today is getting the laundry into the daily routine. I find this is the undoing of me. There is always ironing to do and clothes on the airer (I only use the tumble drier in absolute emergencies). My best intentions are to put a load on early in the morning so I have time to hang it up before the school run but this is a rare event indeed. I hate the whole laundry and ironing thing.

Bit fed up today. I can't really put my finger on why. I think it's the autumn creeping up on me and realising that mat leave will soon be over - so can I join you with that drink later DWT

Hope you are feeling better CTGH

droitwitchmum · 20/10/2009 21:17

Corks are popped! I've given up for today - shined my sink and done my hotspot but that's it. I'm either really tired or getting a cold so I'm on the Bailey's

OM It was his parent's evening (yr 1) - large pinot coming your way.

I'm already doing the laundry every day and it is helping. I'm not worrying about sorting the washing - everything is going in together if I haven't enough for 2 loads. Invested in some washing balls & I'm really impressed. They even shifted some beetroot I had lost down my bra

Everyone else - help yourselves! I'm off to bed with my Baileys & Pride & Prejudice DVD

DevilsEnticeMadness · 20/10/2009 21:23

evening. Hopefully everyone is ok. I am not going to get anything done cleaning or tidying wise. have however done:
attend parents evening
constructed class list/register/mark sheets

Just got left to do:
construct power point file and definitions/explanations sheet.
Sort out clothes for tomo
make pack lunches (if not to late)
Sleep.

big aim tonight is principle 1:
early night, early rise.

pushmepullyou · 20/10/2009 21:57

Evening

Haven't put away clothes or done my evening routine, but think I'm getting a cold too so I'd love a Bailey's if there's one going.

Hope everyone who's feeling rubbish gets a good night's sleep and feels better in the morning.

elliepac · 21/10/2009 06:21

Morning all....my turn to put the coffee on this morning. DH had to go to work early so am up at stupid o'clock. He did say I could stay in bed, but he's not good in the morning bless him!

Am feeling a little better this morning and think i am going to brave work this morning as I have my Year 11's and don't really want to miss them.

Must be the time of year for parent's evening as I have DS's (YR2) first one this evening. Fingers crossed. . He lost his first tooth yesterday and was very excited about the tooth fairy coming to visit so can't wait to see his face this morning.

As far as flying is concerned haven't done much over the last few days due to poorliness but have to get back on the wagon today to get ready for visitors at the weekend. I also found out, through another thread, that the fat fairy has a whole section, including control journal, especially for teacher so notonly can she control my home but also my classroom

Hope everyone who is feeling poorly/poorly DC's is starting to feel better. 3 days till half term for me, i can feel myself getting better already .

wtd lordy at shifting all that wood, you deserve to take it easy

shoppingveggie nice to see you back, just do a little at a time

droitwitch well done to DS

minimarmite hope you and dh are as ok as you can be xx

See you all tonight.

droitwitchmum · 21/10/2009 06:34

Countingthegreyghouls · 21/10/2009 06:42

Good morning

MiniMarmite we are all with you in spirit at the hospital today. Thinking of you and your dh. Will you be back tonight? Please look after yourself and go very gently when you get back xxxx

Now MiniMarmite has asked us to keep the thread cheerful despite it being a very sad time for her, and lots of us seem to be struggling in various ways, so it's important we put in a bit of extra effort today and not give up!! And boy do I need to take my own advice ...!!

baby-step for Wednesday 21 October - catch up opportunity!!
