Come on you slatterns, get your arses in gear, I stop posting for 2 days and you all start getting lazy................

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 27/12/2008 18:43

didn't see a single bump of a slattersn thread in the 2 days I've lurked. So here we are - a brand new slatterns thread to take us over to the new year (where I think we can safely say that one of our NY Resolution won't be keeping teh house tidy at all times )

I can officialy say that:

Paper lists of things to do are SHIT. They don't work, they don't tell you how well you're doing when you update to say what you've done, they get lost under the stuff still to be sorted, and they don't give you other unrelated banter while you're having a rest from it all

So - with that in mind.

Tonight (and I use the word quite loosely as I've slept the last 2 nights so suspect there will be little sleep to be found tonight) I need to:

  • Get my washing done
  • Dry it
  • Iron it all (it's taking over the dining room!)
  • Tidy and hoover the lounge
  • Clean kitchen worktops
  • Empty kitchen bins
  • Put dishwasher on

May add more stuff later as I realise it needs doing.

Have Kitchen and dining area done.
Have to dress dd3 as I need to go down town as I have forgotten something for the lunch.
Hopefully my visitors will be late and I can get sitting room floor swept. Maybe if I didnt spend so much time on here I would have got a lot more done

pushchair · 31/12/2008 10:20

Can't do washing as there is a problem with water tank and DP has water off at mains stopcock.
Can't do drying as DP has tumbler pulled out to access water tank. Semi dry washing draped on all racks.
SO I can:
Dress DDs
Change DD3 nappy
Pack for potential trip to outlaws if tank gets fixed.
Phone swimming
Phone trains

-clean kitchen done
-dry laundry done
-wash another load of laundry (or two)
-put toys away done
-visit mum for lunch done

-have a shower today

Ok, I am hosting a little get together tonight so the guests will have to cope with me cleaning today!

Wash and dry several loads of laundry
Put laundry away
Tidy all bedrooms and get beds ready
sweep and mop downstairs floors
Shop for last minute bits of party food
cook party food
Chill champagne

I am sure I will think of more as I go along but I am off to get everyone dressed as a starting point

I haven't been doing lists (or jobs) for days as had loads of visitors/house guests.
So have fallen way behind on everything!

This is not a to do today list, just a general 'should be done in the next few days' list as we are having a lazy day today :

  • get dressed (all of us!)
  • food, naps, etc. for us & boys
  • laundry, laundry, laundry
  • any ironing as a result of laundry
  • strip guest beds & add to laundry pile
  • remove crap stuff from our room to reclaim it and find new homes for it (or get rid....)
  • tidy/sort guest rooms, find anything left behind & decide whether to post it on or keep for next visit (currently 2 pairs of slippers)
  • book cat feeder for when we are away next week
  • write list of what to pack for Center Parcs next week
  • get rid of lots of stuff we've cleared out to freecycle/charity shop/rubbish tip
  • ebay/freecycle unwanted presents (sorry, harsh but true), esp ones for the DCs as they have so much already
  • Xmas decs down & put away in loft
  • tidy post decs down
  • try and find new homes for all new things
  • spend some time playing with our own new toys (ipod docking thing, etc...)
  • get back on track with weight loss...

and so many more i'm sure......

Just so as you know how much of a positive effect you are all having on me - last night I tided up after my party, loaded the dishwasher, put out the rubbish and recycling - all before bed
I now have just got to;

Sweep floors - including under sofas!
Wipe round sides and tables
Quick run round bedrooms with hoover and bin bag

I am so proud of myself
(oh and not to forget the pile of washing from yesterday)

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 01/01/2009 12:10

oh well done NC - I decided to leave my housework and do it today/over the weekend - I'm child free so can do it in peace and quiet LOL.

I've only really just got up about 20 minutes ago

Today I must

  • Get DS3 dressed
  • Get myself dressed
  • Sort the DS's stuff out for staying at exH's
  • Load dishwasher and put it on
  • Put soup in the freezer (currently in the fridge as I could't be arsed last night
  • Tidy in here and hoover
  • Shower

Will add more later once I've woken up properly
