Come on you slatterns, get your arses in gear, I stop posting for 2 days and you all start getting lazy................

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 27/12/2008 18:43

didn't see a single bump of a slattersn thread in the 2 days I've lurked. So here we are - a brand new slatterns thread to take us over to the new year (where I think we can safely say that one of our NY Resolution won't be keeping teh house tidy at all times )

I can officialy say that:

Paper lists of things to do are SHIT. They don't work, they don't tell you how well you're doing when you update to say what you've done, they get lost under the stuff still to be sorted, and they don't give you other unrelated banter while you're having a rest from it all

So - with that in mind.

Tonight (and I use the word quite loosely as I've slept the last 2 nights so suspect there will be little sleep to be found tonight) I need to:

  • Get my washing done
  • Dry it
  • Iron it all (it's taking over the dining room!)
  • Tidy and hoover the lounge
  • Clean kitchen worktops
  • Empty kitchen bins
  • Put dishwasher on

May add more stuff later as I realise it needs doing.

Ahh..

Perhaps that should be on your list for today then?

FAQtothefuture · 13/01/2009 11:19

it is...I just need to find the guts to do it .

I did send her an email th eother night, but I've had a thought that she's changed her email address and I sent it to her old one

KingCanuteIAm · 13/01/2009 11:27

The other week you forgot about working up to making a phonecall and just DID IT - the outcome was you found a great house with a great landlady and a great agent (the holy grail of house rental).

Sometimes good things happen when you take the bull by the horns - RING THE VICAR

JustKeepSwimming · 13/01/2009 11:28

ring the vicar
ring the vicar
ring the vicar

FAQtothefuture · 13/01/2009 11:29

ok I've rung her.

Asked if she'd got my email - she hasn't her computer has been throwing a wobbly when she tries to check her emails so she doesn't anymore.

I stuttered slightly, and said "You know on Sunday I said I would need a guarantor"........and she said

"yes - you want to ask me" LOL.

She's literally on her wait out when I rang, but is going to think about it and ring me back. Think she's a little nervous has her tenants (she's letting her house out that she owned before becoming a Vicar) owe her £3000 shock.

Explained that I had the money for 2 months rent, and that I would get the housing benenfits to cover all but £20 of it, and that I will be able to find that easily.....

So she's going to ring me back later ARGHHHHH

KingCanuteIAm · 13/01/2009 11:34

Yay for you!

Check with your agent but, my understanding of it is that they only have to cover unpaid rent in arrears so - if you miss a month - the agent would go to them for the money, they can say they are not prepared to cover any more losses than they have to and ask the agent to begin court proceedings at the earliest opportunity. This way they limit the amount they are ever going to have to cover IYSWIM. It may help your vicar to know this.

Speak to your agent, mine was happy to go through all scenarios for me so I could explain it well to the people I had to ask.

cikecaka · 13/01/2009 11:35

Round of applause and a pat on the back for you FAQ, thats the worst of it over, fingers crossed she will agree to do it

FAQtothefuture · 13/01/2009 11:36

I'll speak to him - it would appear that the refencing agency aren't going to send me the link by lunchtime so he'll be dropping the forms round here to fill in by hand (urghh).

I think I explained it pretty well - I can understand her apprehension if she's owed £3000 mine - think I'd have said no striaght away if I was owed £3000 by my tenants (if I had any obviously hehe)
