Come on you slatterns, get your arses in gear, I stop posting for 2 days and you all start getting lazy................

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 27/12/2008 18:43

didn't see a single bump of a slattersn thread in the 2 days I've lurked. So here we are - a brand new slatterns thread to take us over to the new year (where I think we can safely say that one of our NY Resolution won't be keeping teh house tidy at all times )

I can officialy say that:

Paper lists of things to do are SHIT. They don't work, they don't tell you how well you're doing when you update to say what you've done, they get lost under the stuff still to be sorted, and they don't give you other unrelated banter while you're having a rest from it all

So - with that in mind.

Tonight (and I use the word quite loosely as I've slept the last 2 nights so suspect there will be little sleep to be found tonight) I need to:

  • Get my washing done
  • Dry it
  • Iron it all (it's taking over the dining room!)
  • Tidy and hoover the lounge
  • Clean kitchen worktops
  • Empty kitchen bins
  • Put dishwasher on

May add more stuff later as I realise it needs doing.

OP posts:
cikecaka · 02/01/2009 16:20

Well deserved nap FAQ, especially with you having sticky eyes,
Have suceeded in cleaning dining area thoroughly while dd3. Could have had a lot more done if I hadnt been on the internet

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 02/01/2009 17:00

just wish I felt better for it, still feel shite, my eyes aren't runny/sticky any more, but they're sore, they sort of feel like a cross between having been crying for ages (I haven't ) or rubbing them (haven't done that either). GRRR

well it's sort of tidy in here now, enough for me to run the hoover round quickly once the DS's have gone anyhow

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 02/01/2009 20:14

well I've given up for the day, DS's stuff was packed before they went (obviously).

It hurts too much when I put my head forward (which does rather make most jobs rather painful), so going to have a lazy night flitting between MN and the Wii and then have an early night, will hopefully be feeling better in the morning so am (optimistically) going to do a list for tomorrow.

Think I'll go make another Lemsip to have while I'm making it- as it could be quite long

OP posts:
JustKeepSingingCarols · 02/01/2009 20:22

giraffes - a completed list? os that allowed? lol

Boys in bed - no bf from me for the first time, yey, the end is in sight
Been through diaries with dh (always a big job co-ordinating things).
And last laundry load (for now) in tumble dryer.

Just dinner, tv & bed.

Then tomorrow...
have friends coming for the day so not much going to be achieved then.
Sunday - mad dash to get ready for Center Parcs.
Then off on monday-fri.

so intermittent appearances on here.
FAQ - enjoy your child-free time

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 02/01/2009 20:25

yes completed lists are allowed, but no more than 3 a week otherwise you'll be turfed out the club

OP posts:
goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 02/01/2009 20:29

ok Saturday's list

  • Get up
  • Shower
  • Get dressed and dry hair
  • Empty dishwasher
  • Start drying clothes washed this afternoon
  • Put load of washing in
  • Iron
  • put away clothes
  • Finish tidying in here
  • Hoover
  • Lunch
  • Go to local shop and get some boxes (they're friends of exH's and mine, and they keep lots of unsquashed boxes in their storeroom all the time as they've discovered they're the only shop around here that regularly has boxes in, and of course people coming in for boxes often creates busines in the shop too
  • Start sorting out the boxes of stuff in my room properly
  • Dinner
  • Download Turbo lister onto this computer
OP posts:
cikecaka · 02/01/2009 20:30

Giraffes - dc2 isn't due till 27th June, but I need a lot of time to get organised lol!

Hope you're feeling better, FAQ. Welcome to all new slatterns!

-dry uniform for work done
-dry rest of laundry done
-have a shower and get dressed done
-wash dishes
-stuff the toy I'm knitting
-sort and iron laundry

Think the rest is probably going on tomorrow's list, as I have just worked 11.30-7.30 with a half hour break and I'm pregnant and tired and that's my excuse so there

pushchair · 02/01/2009 20:41

Hang up todays wash
Put on another wash
Empty litter tray
Visit friends-remember presents

On return:
Wash in tumbler
Hang up wash from machine

Carry forward:
Letters
Parcel
Hoover loft
Wash skirting board

thumbwitch · 02/01/2009 23:03

secretslattern - do you use brolene eyedrops or ointment? I could NOT cope with the idea of the ointment so use the drops instead when needed - I don't think they have the same effect of feeling like there is something in your eye.

  • collect paperwork to fill in spreadsheets for doing tax return
  • unload current wash and hang up to dry
  • put in next load
  • phone a carpenter to talk about adding a baluster rail to our staircases
  • clean the front room carpet (DH hoovered it but it's still pretty minging!)
  • put all bath and pedestal mats into wash (DS was a naughty little free-wee-er this pm while having his nappy changed!)
  • change bed linen
Whoops! Did sfa today on that list, ah well. Tomorrow is another day so I can add a few more:
  • make banana cookies to use up dodgy ageing bananas
  • pay Bookclub bill
  • take down DS's birthday cards
SecretSlattern · 03/01/2009 00:19

No, tis the eye drops. I don't know what it is but it feels like there is something wedged in the corner of my eye whenever I use them although they do work

bigbaubleeyes · 03/01/2009 00:20

I have it all to carry forward i averted crisis this after and got nowt done

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 03/01/2009 00:21
