Keep getting decluttering hints popping up on my FB page!
I will be in the kitchen today. There’s less to do than I thought as I remembered I had a massive clear out a few months ago when I emptied the cupboards for a cleaner who never turned up. Got rid of loads of herbs & spices amongst other stuff. Probably start with the 2 cabinet cupboards. The cutlery drawer desperately needs a clean!

I'm randomly doing the CD shelf on my book case. Wish I hadn't as there are hundreds of cd and accumulated tat on there. Maybe I need a little box to put things in while I pull out a area. Otherwise I have to finish by school run. I don't normally pull everything out as advised by a slob come clean. But this shelf has things falling if you so much as look at it. Lots of precarious stacking going on

That’s another thing I need to tackle - the cupboard under the tv is full of cds & the drawer has loads of dvds.

Arrghh! I wish I hadn't done this shelf. There is going to be a little box of odds and sods to look at again as this is a dumping area by the door. So usb sticks, glasses, screwdrivers etc but it would fit into a 5" square box so not seems of tat. I'm just in the mood for ting things today. Would rather hit my 2025 target and catch up for Jan first. What a cop out

Partner moved in mid November, from a three bed detached house to my one bed bungalow. I have box city and a storage unit, some things were his parents. Tip run today in the rain. Two TV’s, a monitor, microwave, air fryer, lots of cardboard and polystyrene. Cookery books that haven’t seen the light of day. Feel good about this, but know that it’s going to be months before my main corridor is box free!

Shelves before and after. The whole bookshelf is still a mess but I will do another shelf tomorrow. In the end everything has gone back to its proper home

That’s amazing @IncessantNameChanger I think it’s ok to have a box of odds and sods - you’ll know where to put likeminded items when you do other areas of the house and then one day you can tackle all the odds and sods at the same time.

There was a time when I seemed to have camera memory sticks and usb sticks all over the house. I’ve gone through half of them and saved them to a computer but they’re all in one box waiting for the time I can deal with them all. They’re not adding to clutter any more.

One out today. I have decided to get rid of a particular shapeless long cardigan that doesn’t look good with jeans or dresses.

I finally managed to drop off a bin liner of clothes DH wanted rid of; it was riding round in the boot of my car for weeks!

None so far for me today but I have high hopes for a charity shop run later!

Ah, we went there in May and it's just so beautiful. Everyone looked so balanced and happy! Nice cafes and walks and dc was happy running on the beach. I always wondered what it would be like in the winter when gale winds blow

Evening folks - quieter day today but got a few bits done & have asked DD (again!) to sort out the basketful of her clothes. Given her a week. She said the other day that the Pokémon Monopoly has some cards missing so I might get rid of that. I didn’t start the kitchen cupboards the other day so still have those to do (non food mostly) & I want to tidy out the free standing medicine cabinet. I did sort the shoes out a while back but the hall is being taken over again so that’s another task.

Managed to list something on vinted but I failed to get to the charity shop, so no outs today. Good progress on tidying up and washing so I need to be kind to myself

Finished sorting through the school and artwork drawers. We each took a few favourite bits and pieces to be kept in memory boxes in bedrooms. Workbooks can go in cupboard.

🤦‍♀️ What a doofus 🤦‍♀️ I posted this late on Wednesday night on the wrong thread...

I completely forgot yesterday that a late Christmas gift arrived, so I undercounted my Ins and I've added it today. I have stalled a little bit and have missed my net target of 40 items per week. It's frustrating and I probably won't have chance to do much tomorrow, but I'm not giving up!

And that was days ago... I'm going in the wrong direction as two more parcels have arrived. One was a belated Christmas gift but the other was not 😬 (I hadn't thought about counting my Ins last year) A few things were ordered for others, but mainly it was a couple of gifts and a huge number of prints for our newly decorated walls, and stickers, and cookie cutters.

We put artwork on a wall and the oldest gets replaced when wall is full. You have reminded me I have some bits to put up I bought new bluetac for.

Fool - don't worry, it's sales season so the "ins" will even out soon. I have decided to charity shop most of my Vinted things today. It's all been on for a week plus except some kids wellie boots. They are so bulky to store wherever I put them. I just want one bag for life worth to sell. See how the day pans out.

I’m impressed with everyone counting “ins”. I’m not going to do that, I don’t think I can face it, but I would say my biggest problem isn’t new stuff, it’s just having too much crap that I’m keeping just in case or because someone gave it to me.

The other thing I’m trying to get better at is allowing one thing to replace another… new wellies, old ones belong in the bin (because tbh I would only have bought them if the old ones were in need of the bin!)

Finally made it to the tip today, bin bag full of textiles recycling, 2 bin bags of post Christmas rubbish, and a stack of cardboard mostly from pre Christmas purchases. It's made a big space in the conservatory!

Also sold an item on Vinted yesterday and gave away a wash basket we weren't using on the local free site.

I'm about to do a rubbish sweep of the bedrooms.

Finally made it to the charity shop. So had bags already counted under 2025 in there.

Had to buy dd demi pointe shoes (£50!!!! Doubt they will last a month as they have to be tightly fitted) plus a new air fryer to replace the one I tipped. Expensive day.

i took everything off Vinted to but I will probably just Iist more soon enough.
