Very keen to get some idea! Mine are currently thrown in a box in a cupboard. I am dreaming of them being organised alphabetically and orderly! 0

I have these dreams. My reality is a draw which isn’t tall enough to fit them in. And a husband who doesn’t care about alphabetical order!

SpiceQueen1 · 22/04/2024 20:45

These are mine - I bought the holders from B&M and am chuffed with them. I do a lot of cooking, and previously they were all jumbled in a cupboard and I had to root about looking for what I wanted.

If you buy Tesco spices (others are probably available) they come in a square bottle which nicely fits these racks! (But you can also jam round ones in as long as they aren't too big)

I have a pull out next to the hob which holds my favourites and then a spice rack on the back of the larder door for all the others. No particular order though!

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 22/04/2024 20:48

I think this came from B&Q (still not big enough!) fitted insude cupboard door.

I have a revolving two tiered rack - here we call them a Lazy Susan. I can hold the smaller spice jars, you just can't wiz it around too fast or they'll go flying!
I have quite a few spices On another shelf I keep one-tiered similar for the larger jars of spice.

Mine are on a lazy Susan in my cupboard - game changer

LiterallyOnFire · 22/04/2024 20:50

Bought the rack from Etsy. Put inside an old linen cupboard and repurposed it as a larder. The racks are great. I'll keep them even when I replace the kitchen.

Like @TwoLeftSocksWithHoles I have racks fitted to the inside of my larder doors (one on either side). I also have a plastic box with larger bags of spices, inside the larder.

Caspianberg · 22/04/2024 20:52

In kitchen drawers laying down so can see.
Top has mainly herbs, salt, garlic powder etc. I use these the most
Next drawer mainly spices.

Wishiwasatailor · 22/04/2024 20:53

The drawer next to the hob fits Sainsbury’s spice jars in perfectly. They are also big enough to fit a teaspoon in and have the name on the lid so easy to see which is which.

LiterallyOnFire · 22/04/2024 20:54

Oh and mine are vaguely thematically ordered with the most commonly used pots easiest to grab.

No pics but mine are stood up in a deepish drawer. I have several tension rods separating them into rows, and they are ordered alphabetically. I use a label maker to label the lids (sometimes), with yellow labels for spices, green for herbs, and red for mixes.

Previously I had an old fashioned, wooden wall mounted spice rack. I found a maker on eBay and asked them to make a custom sized one for the space I had.

I would also recommend a masala dabba for your most used spices if you can't keep them all close to hand. https://www.popatstores.co.uk/spice-box-masala-dabba-with-ss-lid-cover-size-11.html

Oh I need one of those. You could do that thing where you pretend you're a tv cook.☺️

LaWench · 22/04/2024 20:58

Mine are in small ikea storage boxes in the cupboard.

When we have our kitchen done I want them in a shallow drawer under the hob. I bought rectangular spice containers so they'll sit nicely like this picture.

These are mine, drawer inserts, easiest bit of my kitchen, they do need re alphabetisising (?) though.

In a drawer. I used to label the lids but the Sainsburys ones have labels on the top. I might rearrange them to theme them a bit.

LiterallyOnFire · 22/04/2024 21:01

I think whatever method you choose, @LaWench 's picture is the theory but @NecklessMumster 's is how it ends up. 😁

We have a weird spice cupboard built in - basically a very very shallow cupboard, just the depth for spice jars, and with a couple of levels. I think it sits in front of pipes or something which is why it isn't a normal cupboard. I use that for lesser used spices and then have this on the side by the hob for the ones I use frequently

Spice racks inside the larder door. Love them.
The other door is all stock cubes, pastes, bottles of soy sauce, wasabi etc.

Is that actually your drawer? If so it's beautiful. I want to stroke those jars Grin

SanFranBear · 22/04/2024 21:05

I have literally no storage in my kitchen so I got some magnetic shelves and they're stuck on the side of my fridge!

Not really enough space but better than nothing!
