Very keen to get some idea! Mine are currently thrown in a box in a cupboard. I am dreaming of them being organised alphabetically and orderly! 0

So jealous of all these, I have a teeny tiny kitchen with just 2 single cupboards, one double and four drawers 😞. So mine are in these in a basket in the cupboard, arranged alphabetically. Bigger bags are on an extra metal shelf thing that attaches to the original shelf.

I really covet those over the door or Etsy racks for inside my pantry door, but currently, it is covered with a mishmash of wire baskets, holding foil, rolls of bags, table mats, fly covers, etc.
I really don't know where I could put them all.

TheWorldisGoingMad · 23/04/2024 11:37

After much trial and error with many types of rack, I settled on these from Amazon. They are clear perspex. I have one beside the cooker that I use a lot of. The other's are on the backs on the kitchen doors. I have moved them around a bit but I love the fact they take up no additional room. I have a tiny Galley kitchen, so space is important.

Oh my wow, loving all (every one!) of these pictures! (Mine just shoved in with rest of food!)

In the fridge door, though herbs and spices keep their life longer in the freezer.

In a warm kitchen, exposed to light in glass jars, they will fade away.

Ohnobackagain · 23/04/2024 12:22

@Implosion85 just bought 24 hexagonal jars from Amazon for £15.99. The shape means they fit well. Also bought some labels.

I love spices! Here's mine. Big/tall/awkward jars in baskets on top layer. Underneath are jars in alphabetical order. Complete spice junkie.

I’ve come back to have another look.
Am feeling everyone is so much more organised than me
I bet you all have amazing sock drawers too. I really must do better.

BestZebbie · 23/04/2024 13:35

I used to have a set of beautiful little round metal tins with window lids that were magnetic and stuck onto the fridge.....however I am not going to find a link for them to post now as they ended up being useless as all the spices went stale and faded, so I'm back to a shoebox of the containers they come in from the supermarket on the kitchen worksurface again...

Occasionally something falls from the summit and scares the shit out of me.

These are mine, drawer inserts, easiest bit of my kitchen, they do need re alphabetisising (?) though.

This looks exactly like mine! I thought my husband had posted for a minute!

We have a weird spice cupboard built in - basically a very very shallow cupboard, just the depth for spice jars, and with a couple of levels. I think it sits in front of pipes or something which is why it isn't a normal cupboard. I use that for lesser used spices and then have this on the side by the hob for the ones I use frequently

I’ve got one of those too, above my hob, with 3 shelves. Perfect for spices & deep enough to have bottles of vinegar, oil etc behind them.

Ours are on the inside of the pantry door.

Thank you for spelling OXO with your cubes 😀

minipie · 23/04/2024 17:10

Ok, I’m going to have to have a spice sort out and possibly alphabetise them all now.

BirthdayRainbow · 23/04/2024 17:15

Mine are looking a bit depleted as DS took a load plus I'm moving so not buying much. The wall rack is in my pantry. The step shelves on the bottom shelf are from Lakeland and the step racks were probably Asda or similar.

I’m not the only one with multiple cinnamons I see!

😀

Imicola · 23/04/2024 17:24

For those with a rack on the inside of a cupboard door, how does it work in practice? Do your shelves need to be less deep, or stuff moved back from the edge of the shelves to enable it to work and the doors to close?

I'm tempted, I tried to tidy mine a bit last night, they are all in 2 small baskets on the shelves but it's not ideal!

minipie · 23/04/2024 18:30

Yes Imicola ours is on the back of our larder door and the larder shelves are only about 2/3 the depth of the cupboard. The larder is 60cm deep so if the shelves were full depth it wouldn’t be practical as stuff would get lost at the back. So shallower shelves + rack on the door back makes sense.

I wouldn’t do this on a wall cabinet which is only 40ish cm deep already as would lose too much space

Alphabetical, in a fairly bog-standard rack I got on Amazon.

I have exactly the same spice rack.

It's wall mounted, and they are stored alphabetically.

DaveWatts · 23/04/2024 18:42

I have two drawers for spices - one slightly more organised than the other!

Implosion85 · 23/04/2024 18:58

Wow my mind is genuinely blown with envy right now.

I'd like to know how the pantry ones work too without banging the shelves inside?

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 23/04/2024 19:02

Mine are lying in a drawer

Specialnameforanoutingthread · 23/04/2024 19:41

My pantry is really a cupboard under the stairs in the corner of the kitchen, so you can just about walk into it. The shelves line each side wall and the back wall so the spices don't hit the shelves. Most of the shelves were here when we arived but we put in a new couple and made the spice rack for the door.

It's surprising how nice a bit of plywood and a stick of dowling look with a couple of coats of white paint!
