Sold a necklace on ebay today so will pack it up to go on Monday. Not much else done today as DC1 had a big concert and went to watch it.

Pineappleapple · 26/03/2022 11:57

Couple of pairs of earrings gone, I only wear them occasionally now but used to most days. A couple aren't my style anymore, and even a couple of cheap ones which needed fixing. No value so they're gone

LivingDeadGirlUK · 26/03/2022 13:28

I've thrown out some rubbish that was in the garden. Still not tackled the craft stuff but thrown out some old tights.

Vinorosso74 · 26/03/2022 14:38

Last years NT handbook in the recycling so that's my item for today. Put a few books aside for charity shop but more sorting needed.

WildPoinsettia · 26/03/2022 15:11

Washed my cushion covers and binned a disintegrating cushion middle.

londonmummy1966 · 26/03/2022 15:16

Two old desks collected by Emmaus and some new square pillowcases have arrived so I can bin some of the ripped beyond mending ones. A shame as I inherited them from MIL but after probably the best part of 70 years of use they are now almost in tatters.

seperatedmum · 26/03/2022 20:57

working today but put some envelopes straight into the recycling instead of hanging around and threw out some rubbish really from under the settee last night it was like an episode of the big clean

LivingDeadGirlUK · 27/03/2022 12:13

I went through some bits from university, kept a few bits in my keepsake box but a lot of duplicate stuff and old magazines thrown out. So that's another large carrier bag out from under my office desk.

Still so many papers to go through, it's never ending. Saying that I do now have a lot more floor visable in here than when I started the process!

WildPoinsettia · 27/03/2022 14:59

Two bag-of-bags has gone out to the bin today.

Gassylady · 28/03/2022 08:22

Quiet weekend on the decluttering front. Went through one box file of old work articles and about 75% in the recycling as most things available online now. Starting to run out of easy wins which is I guess a good thing but it means I’m getting ever closer to difficult things like having to sort photos from childhood out. I’ve had a couple of sessions where I’ve got rid of random landscapes and blurry snaps but then get overwhelmed at trying sort the rest and put them in some sort of order.

seperatedmum · 28/03/2022 16:27

bag of coat hangers gone back to Sainsbury’s'

Pineappleapple · 28/03/2022 20:54

@LivingDeadGirlUK sounds great if you have more floor space, you must be doing something right.
A handbag decluttered today, have two similar ones so kept the one I like most.

Still haven’t continued with those 9 remaining boxes .admin and appointments have taken up my time and energy on top of the usual housework and kids and dog care . DH has been to the dump with three loads last weekend though .2 from the garage full of furniture and other deliveries packaging , clothes bank bags , old storage boxes etc and then he went to the storage locker and brought back another load much of which went to dump the next day . We got rid of a few more storage boxes and two cardboard boxes that had mailing envelopes in them I moved elsewhere, a couple of feather cushions, 2 fans , 1 heater, kids hangers, cot sides and other parts , a wooden shelf , 2 hanging shelves etc . There’s no more boxes there for me to sort out just 2 of Lego we’ll try to donate , the two buggies with all their accessories we’ll sell, motorcycle panniers we’ll sell, sailing boat paraphernalia DH probably won’t keep and a changing table that’s going too so nothing we’ll keep I don’t think . I’m hoping DH can get another load out next weekend although now might be going to Finland in the holidays and DD birthday is right after we’d be back so I’m trying so figure all that out while doing yet more admin and housework . Just ordered a new spray mop that will hopefully help with the downstairs floors and the dog . DS is helpfully in the holidays already so he’s doing the aft school pickups for me thankfully which is a huge luxury ! Have yet another headache and a sore throat I’ve spent the day in bed pretty much . Tomorrow I’ll attempt to get a few more boxes out of the dining room …

londonmummy1966 · 30/03/2022 01:15

Managed to dump a tattered pillow case but little time at the moment as I have a big concert on Thursday. I am looking forward to dumping the score afterwards though!

Vinorosso74 · 30/03/2022 12:14

Bit of progress today. Small box of books dropped off at charity shop so stuff has gone out the door!
DP is going to do a dump run at the weekend so I've got things together for that; it's mainly clothes and shoes for the recycling but there's a variety of other things.
I wanted to get rid of some old bedding but we have decorating to do so can use it for dust sheets.

TruffleNoir · 30/03/2022 13:26

@londonmummy1966 what do you play? Smile

I am doing my decluttering little by little. So surprised at my sales on Vinted.

Going to go up the loft and sort through the old bag of 18-24 months clothes from my eldest as my youngest is almost 18 months. While up there I think I'm going to try and sell some more baby things like the Perfect Prep machine that's sitting up there. There's certain things I will be sadder letting go of.

We've had so much illness in this house so been doing the minimum housework and really need to get motivated for a spring clean! Any tips?

londonmummy1966 · 30/03/2022 15:41

@TruffleNoir - concert coming up is singing - a lot to learn and nowhere to hide!

I'm impressed you are selling stuff on Vinted I've found it very much a dead zone whilst the same stuff is selling fairly well on ebay.

I'm going out later so I've taken the opportunity to edit my makeup bag and chuck a load of eye liners I don't use.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 30/03/2022 18:48

Another sale posted today, I find Vinted can be a slow burn but as there are not listing fees or cancellation fees, you can list on both there and ebay if you want. I was just getting really annoyed with the ebay fees.

TruffleNoir · 30/03/2022 19:48

@londonmummy1966 that's lovely! I play in an orchestra so was wondering Smile

When I first put things up on Vinted I sold a few things quickly then had a quiet period then randomly an old pair of trousers was sold last week. I seem to be doing a one out one in thing though and using my balance to buy myself bargains 😂🙈

WildPoinsettia · 30/03/2022 20:40

Today's out: a pair of earring backs and 4 hairclips that never get used

londonmummy1966 · 30/03/2022 22:57

Thanks all - I'll wait patiently for sales then. In the meantime the last 2 Thrift+ bags I sent are now online and selling well - about £150 to share between me them and my favourite charity!

Pineappleapple · 31/03/2022 13:03

I actually need to buy some toddler clothes - looking on vinted postage is 0? Is it calculated later?

LivingDeadGirlUK · 31/03/2022 13:44

I think you get free postage on your first purchase.
LivingDeadGirlUK · 02/04/2022 14:08

I've shredded all the papers in one of my big boxes of papers, the box has now been passed to my partner so he can use for storage instead of his current method of dumping in a cardboard box.

So a bit more space at my feet in the office!

I'm also putting together a bag of stuff for the charity shop which I will hopefully drop off tomorrow.

seperatedmum · 02/04/2022 15:50

cleaned and decluttered 3 kitchen drawers on Thursday, much better. 15yo pulled all shoes and a bag of shredded paper waiting to be added to out of cupboard tho 🥺
