How often do you change your sheets?

Just curious? I try to do them once a week but sometimes I don't get round to it and its 10 days before I change them.

@Theoldwoman

So how often do you change your bath towels then?
Fresh towels for everyone at home daily.

Each loo has a basket at the side with face clothes for drying off after using the bum gun. They’re used once then rinsed out and put in the laundry basket. There’s two hand towels, one each at the sink, and a bath towel each for after showers which can be 3 times a day in the very hot summer months if you’re in and out of the house a few times a day. Otherwise it morning and evening.

BlueSkyThunking · 09/10/2021 13:53

@Biscoffee do you live in the uk?

rookiemere · 09/10/2021 15:28

@Biscoffee I'm really not understanding the face clothes and bum gum thing.

Workinghardeveryday · 09/10/2021 15:43

Bum bum?

Workinghardeveryday · 09/10/2021 15:44

Bum gum

Insertfunnyname · 09/10/2021 15:46

Fortnightly. Would love to do weekly but have too many children so do half of us one week and half the other!

Henrywilldoit · 09/10/2021 16:07

Every 2-3 weeks.

Probably should do them weekly but it just seems such a waste of time, water and electricity. They don't seem musky enough after only one week Grin

toomuchlaundry · 09/10/2021 16:20

@rookiemere isn’t that like a hose to wash your bum and then use a flannel to dry it.

Kanaloa · 09/10/2021 16:51

So everyone in your house is using three towels a day? Or the same towel but changed daily? That’s a lot of washing considering you must be some squeaky clean people if you’re showering three times a day.

Thehogfatherstolemycurry · 09/10/2021 16:55

What's a bum gun??

Sheets when I can be arsed, once a monthish.

furbabymama87 · 09/10/2021 16:59

Once or twice a week

Feelingoktoday · 09/10/2021 17:10

Biscoffee - even hotels are not changing towels daily now. I think it’s a good idea re environment.

GillBiggeloesHair · 09/10/2021 17:11

Once a week in summer, probably once a fortnight in winter. Hot country.

Anordinarymum · 09/10/2021 17:13

Twice a week but the dog sleeps with us

Biscoffee · 09/10/2021 19:39

A bum gun is a small hand held shower you use to wash with after you’ve used the loo. Drying off with a flannel afterwards is self explanatory. One visit to the loo is one flannel. They’re not shared and for hygiene reasons they’re rinsed out after use and put in the laundry hamper.

It’s not a bath towel each after each shower. It’s a towel each that is used to the end of the day so two or 3 showers then washed.

The laundry isn’t a problem.

Regarding the environment - my house runs on solar energy and we now sell back to the grid.

Vindo · 09/10/2021 19:49

I aim for weekly, but sometimes it can be 2 weeks depending how busy I get.

Chunkymenrock · 09/10/2021 19:51

Fortnightly although fresh pillowcase weekly.

You’re not living in the uk though are?
Biscoffee · 10/10/2021 04:34

@BlueSkyThunking

I spend a good amount of time in the UK and apart from my house there not being run on solar energy my housekeeping is no different to when I’m at home.

Once a fortnight
I wash my daughters once a fortnight but the opposite week. So I do one lot of bedding a week

Moomarre · 10/10/2021 08:07

Every week for my bed. Mattress protector is done every week in summer but only every other in winter (drying issues). Pillow protectors are done every week.
Then I do 2 children’s beds a week so theirs are done every other week.

Mybalconyiscracking · 10/10/2021 08:09

Once a fortnight, same as my DM did.

whenwillthemadnessend · 10/10/2021 08:29

3 weekly. We all wear pjs and underwear Changing beds is my most hated chore

I do the pillow cases mid change on our bed tho.

KittyBurrito · 10/10/2021 08:33

Fortnightly. Work FT, don't have time or energy to change multiple king size beds more often.

dudsville · 10/10/2021 08:34

Fresh sheets for the weekend is one of life's little pleasures.
