Just opening the new thread while I have a chance! All welcome here, join in with the housework chat, the keep calm corner and general ramblings about life in lockdown!
Any of us have been here a long time so we may seem cliquey but it’s never intentional - newbies and returners are always welcome.

Tada
Wash on
Fed cats
Hour recipe sorting
Write list for DP- he picking up Swingball from Argos so whilst in sainsbo go grab couple bits, then pop boots at next along retail part for dd2 gaviscon as they only ones that sell it!
Start list for dd1 for Tesco
Wash in drier,more on

Dp can only do short and very specific or I will get any old thing close which in past has included eyewateringly expensive limited edition grapes instead of basic one,and organic fancy pants loo rolls instead economy!!

Loaf bread toasted and devoured
Grapes washed and devoured
Wash up
Wipe surfaces
First load folded and put away
More in drier
More in wash

DS chivvied to get dressed and put out some bird seed,he's now reluctantly doing schoolwork

Dd2 n I have had first row of the day

I've just gone empty upstairs bins and found paper in cat tray AGAIN
I warned anyone throws stuff vaguely in direction bathroom bin n lands on floor/ends up in tray I REFUSE clean trays again as it's awfully smelly when they get wee/poo not in litter and my supersense of smell gags on it.guess they go have divvy up who go clean it

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/04/2020 09:28

lane chocolate printed clothesight just subliminally make me want them more,so space galaxy is more slimming!!

I am a jeans n t girl.joggers are my current fave as so soothy.love a nice hoody/soft textured jumper.as we go into warmer weather I tend wear jean shorts(not very short ones I add, this old sheep dont want to look worse than i normally do!!Grin)and vest type t shirts.fluffy socks to keep feet warm in winter(and slipper boots) summer I like feet out.flipflops indoors and out(have one specially just for indoors as I inclined against my love of barefoot with cat fluids, messy kids and poor eyesight....)

I do own couple long maxi dresses.like lane I wish clothes and making an effort mattered more but I guess I too busy try get my head above water to manage another thing on the to do!

Hello everyone, I am clearly better at lurking than posting 😊 but in my defence I have spent the last two weeks sorting out the garden once and for all!
DH has assembled the new greenhouse which now has lots of seeds sown, hopefully they’ll grow. He’s also helped with the garden jobs needing brawn because I can no longer heave stuff around or do heavy digging ☹️
My little veg patch has chard, leeks, beetroot, carrots, lettuce and spring onions coming up, so I am very pleased about that, and the rest of the borders are tidy.
I dug up hundreds of Spanish bluebells that were taking over and hiding goodness knows how many slugs and snails 😡, and now have space to grow either runner beans or dwarf beans amongst the flowers.
I have also planted sprouting supermarket new potatoes so fingers crossed they produce more!
Housework-wise it’s passably tidy, so I can now collapse in a heap because I have totally overdone it these past few weeks 😳☹️. Unfortunately because I have heart failure I should pace myself, and usually do, never mind I will be good again soon. It’s hard when you’re used to working flat out!!
I love reading this thread, you’re all such strong women despite often difficult circumstances 💐🥂🌈x

Strawberrycreamsundae · 29/04/2020 10:10

Favourite pieces of clothing..... I tend to live in jeans, jeggings or loose jersey trousers with tee shirts or shirts and fleece tops. I have largely given my smart work clothes to the charity shops.
I do have phases of dressing less casually but because I like pootling around in the garden it isn’t practical!
I do have a couple of maxi dresses as I fancied drifting around looking less scruffy.....I think realistically that’s not going to be the desired effect, more like a mobile tent!!

foxessocks · 29/04/2020 11:34

Aw bower you must miss your dd a lot, is she missing you too or is she too young and carefree?! When I went abroad after school I missed my parents so much i was so homesick I still remember that feeling Sad but I don't think I ever admitted that to them (they probably guessed since when they did come to visit me I threw myself at them and we are NOT usually a huggy family at all Grin)

Clothes? I vary tbh, in the winter I tend to stick to jeans and jumpers or leggings under a dress with boots maybe at a push! Summer I have lots of dresses , loads of jumpsuits so I tend to wear that kind of thing but have to say while in lockdown if the weather has been hot I can't be bothered with a jumpsuit just for round the house 😂 so I've been sticking to shorts and t shirt , jeans or joggers when it's cooler.

Ta das
Cleaned bathroom - it smells and I can't work out why, even after cleaning I can still smell something unpleasant Sad
Emptied dishwasher
Put a wash on
Done RE with dd and stuck all her work she's done so far in her home learning book so it's a but more organised

This morning has flown past, the kids got up a bit later I think that's why.

Dd has just put glitter all over a picture so I now need to hoover Hmm

Fluffiest · 29/04/2020 11:51

Hello everyone!

jigalo book snap!

ED that 60s book would fit right in with my collection!

strawberry well done on all the garden work! Sounds amazing

I've got some of my mo-jo back today, and had a really pleasant morning. DD and I have been backing lemon cupcakes, and I've had a delivery of plants from our garden centre. I got a big mix of things to help fill the new flowerbed I dug last week. Ordered them yesterday over the phone and they were here by 10am today.

Slight issue that I missed the bin collection today Sad but it's not too bad. Don't tell the council but we have two black bins even though we are only a family of three. The house just had two bins when we moved in. We rarely use the second one but looks like we'll have to now.

👗 Favourite clothing- I live in jeans and jumpers for most of the year. But I have a light blue tunic dress from Phase 8 that is ever so soft and flattering. I feel really put together in that without feeling uncomfortable or dressed up.

averytiredmom · 29/04/2020 13:32

Afternoon all!☀️
We’ve had a lazy morning because none of us got much sleep last night😴

that how old are your 5? Are they spread apart or all quite young together?

My favourite clothes? Before I had the kids I used to wear a lot of bohemian things, flared trousers and sleeves etc. I still have it but rarely find the time to wear it, now it’s just jeans and a jumper. I also am very fussy about jeans and will only wear Joni jeans from top shop, because they feel like jeggings (that just autocorrected to heffingskortingen🤔). But since lockdown I have just been wearing pyjamas!.

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/04/2020 14:06

strawberry garden sounds fab.please be careful with yourself!!
Tired I've had few days I've not graduated from.jim jams..
Foxes plugholes need a bit soda crystals and boil water??

Tada
More laundry
Do decide sub few bits.he was very anxious stressed drop it.bless,he tried ..I got round cake tin liners not loaf tin ones,a very expensive pack printer paper,a completely different fabric softener.he claims couldn't find d.f milk in cartons not in fridge...
Good job dd1 doing bigger go later.if not sure she rings or sends pics of potential subs and can spot the most expensive and if it's worth the cost.i sound so ungrateful,he really did try and was very worried he's made mistakes.i text him after its fine.ge did find my favourite white tictacs so that was a win!!

Used red food dye on dd2 hair as she wants a temp dipdye(vac PAC beets failed yesterday)
Wipe and put shop away
Lunch- sweet potato wedges with thyme and garlic, rosemary and red onion veggie sausages.riast button mushrooms, broccoli and courgettes
Little ones had avocado mashed smoked paprika on fingers of toast, carrot, pepper and cucumber sticks, tuna, cherry tomatoes and a yogurt each.ds declared was still "starving" and NEEDED crisps and a biscuit too..

LaneBoy · 29/04/2020 14:30

Heffingskortingen is quite an autocorrect!

ta da
🥰workout
🥰shower/clean clothes/plaited hair, even put in earrings for the first time in ages
🥰checked tumble dried clothes and repacked - lucky as there were some stray odd socks in there!
🥰set reminder for DS’ taekwondo lesson as still haven’t attended any online which is getting embarrassing as he’s in perfectly good health now (he was too tired for ages after the virus)
🥰decent lunch
🥰printed out maths for DS
🥰long chat with support worker. She has to close our case, but her boss has agreed it wouldn’t be right to do this during lockdown so basically we carry on as we are - catching up over email mostly - and then when they’re allowed to do visits again we get one more to finish properly. Will still see her at playgroup anyway when that starts up (although I feel things like playgroups may be one of the last things to be allowed back? That said it is a children’s centre one for SN so maybe higher priority?) but I’ll miss the long chats about random stuff!
🥰some home ed with DS (Ramadan and Kensuke’s Kingdom)

Need to anti-procrastinate and rejoin gym (astoundingly good offer if paying by tomorrow, obviously the year doesn’t start until they reopen though) and put my savings money in as I forgot last month. Then I’ll find some more work for DS for the rest of the week (thought we’d do more on Islam) and also need to help DD1 with some work. It’s getting really hard to keep her on track.

You’ve been a busy bee in the garden Strawberry. We’ve made some progress with ours, though in the front I’ve only weeded the gravel and bought some pots.

Glad DP at least got your tictacs Zoo. Sounds like he’s being a bit more helpful.

We almost missed bin day too Fluff. Ours was stuffed, we’d have really struggled. Hope you manage ok.

I’m certainly not a full blown minimalist but I really struggle with clutter. The arrival of new birthday toys has sent me back into decluttering mode.

KCC - clotheswise I tend to like dresses as they are way and comfortable but feel a bit smarter. I used to buy them but then live in jeans and t-shirts or jumpers as I kept them ‘for good’. Now nothing is for good and I use the things I like whenever. Having said that I’m struggling at the minute as neither my jeans or dresses fit me, so unless we are leaving the house I’m in yoga / harem pants.

Quite a productive morning:
✅ beds made, upstairs aired
✅ clean washing put away
✅ LOL
✅ dressing room and both bedrooms tidied
✅ S & s upstairs and down
✅ tidied basket and unit in bathroom
✅ upstairs bins emptied and wiped
✅ birthday toys carried up and homes found for them
✅ re-organised old toys and binned some party-bag type plastic crap (with DD’s permission)
✅ managed to get some appropriate clothes on DD at the second attempt (first resulted in fairy wings and little else) and got out for a half hour walk.
✅ breakfast and lunch things washed
✅ decluttered and tidied under kitchen sink
✅ tidied pan cupboard
✅ made a start on upstairs home bleurgh but DD wanted a cuddle on the sofa and who am I to deny her Grin

To do:
⏺ finish upstairs home bleurgh
⏺ washing in dryer and another load in
⏺ food prep for tomorrow
⏺ make thank you cards with DD
⏺ record a video of DD saying hello for nursery

KTCluck · 29/04/2020 14:36

Oh and wanted to get some of the zone 5 missions done too. It’s a bit grubby in there Blush

KTCluck · 29/04/2020 14:38

Cross post Lane. Well done on the work out!

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/04/2020 15:46

More laundry and recipe sorting done
Red food dye failed in dd2 hair.i now have a crime scene bath to sort out

foxessocks · 29/04/2020 16:02

You're probably right about the plugholes zoo I didn't get time for a deep clean today, I'll have to tackle them soon. It smells a bit fresher now anyway! It might also be ds as he likes to drip wee everywhere while he sorts his trousers and pants out 😂 bless him

I feel so drained! I can't quite explain to dh who has gone back to work this week and therefore been out of the house a lot. But the noise level of the dc and having to keep getting dd to do work which she can't do on her own is starting to stress me out. I'm not getting a moment to myself! In the times when they are playing together I'm trying to keep on top of the housework (which I'm not!) Or I'm thinking about what is for lunch or dinner....argh!!

I've ordered some workbooks for dd in the hope she'll be able to do some on her own. But then what do I do with ds??

Lane and other home schoolers please tell me your secrets ConfusedGrin

averytiredmom · 29/04/2020 16:08

zoo it’s a pj day everyday hereGrin. I just feel weird lol if I’m in the house and I have real clothes on!!.

lane I had never even heard of it before!😂😂

Wow strawberry! you’ve been busy. My gardens a right tip!!!

Ta Da:
Decided to give the kitchen a bit of a clean as it was disgusting, I will do the bathroom too!. ✅
Hoovered✅
Currently making tea✅

Do any of you have any ideas of some sort of home learning I can do with my 3 year old and nearly 2 year old?. We’re currently just watching Thomas and friends all day so I think we need to do some more!!.

foxessocks · 29/04/2020 16:27

*Averytiredmom" my 3 year old enjoys dot to dot books and sticker books which are good for pen control / fine motor skills! We've also been enjoying craft with pipe cleaners Grin oh and I drew a big zig zag on paper and got him to put his toy animals on the line...he loved that!

Is your 3 year old nearly 4 and starting school in September? Mine turns 4 in September so I'm not too worried about much actual learning right now, more just making him think he's working to be like his big sister because he doesn't like being left out!

averytiredmom · 29/04/2020 16:46

fox they’re good ideas thank you!. He isn’t starting school in September so it’s more just to entertain him than actually learn. But he is like a sponge he constantly wants to be learning

THATscurryfungeBITCH · 29/04/2020 16:47

averytiredmom they are 12, 10, 7, 3 years and 7 month! So we are covering most of the age stages

THATscurryfungeBITCH · 29/04/2020 16:49

My 3 year old ds is doing a lot of playdough, drawing, painting, playing in sand pit at the moment. He enjoys playing snakes and ladders too and those wipe clean books for white board pens.

foxessocks · 29/04/2020 17:22

Oh yeah my dc love the wipe clean books!

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/04/2020 17:53

Testing for May thread - just ignore!

Pop onto the Flylady website to have a closer look here but be aware that lots of emails arrive if you sign up.

Lisette1940 · 29/04/2020 18:28

yep works!

Lisette1940 · 29/04/2020 18:51

I'm really going to have to get myself in gear in May so if there are any newbies lurking then we will essentially be starting together when I lead the May thread. I have been chomping my way through the latter half of April and have totally taken my eye off the ball in every area of my life including the house. Not enough self care either.

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/04/2020 19:07

Lisette considering how poorly you have been you mustn't be so hard on yourself

Tada
Last load for today in drier
