Good luck in your new role Hazel!
Sympathies over maths homework conundrums: it scares me frankly! I couldn't ever do mental arithmetic at school as I couldn't hold figures in my mind doing division or multiplication for example. I simply couldn't remember and then would panic. I had to see it written down (which they didn't allow then). I see dd writing out these long lines of equations for hwk and they could be Chinese characters as far as I am concerned. Goes totally over my thick head. However, she assures me that the long complex looking equations are in fact the easy ones ... .
And we rarely make beds but like Expletive I like to turn them down and open all the windows (fresh air freak).
Sorry things are still so hard going Zoo
And sorry to hear about illness That and more broken nights
Great lists yesterday Lane We3kings Hazel and KTCluck and others
Tinselette how are you?
Oh yes - and thank you - all offers of visiting littlies gratefully accepted
Any time
DD loves them and is very good with them too!
Dh away and I've been out this morning helping someone with English for their business/website. We were in the country yesterday, so I'm only now packing away toddler toys and my Ernest et Celestine bowls and spoons until the littlies come next time ... .
It was quite funny after they left actually, because we had cleared up and were just about to flop for the evening when we all had a collective f moment and remembered we had an important commitment at church in the country in 45 mins time that I we had totally forgotten about
and it's an hour's drive door to door. Cue me and dd running around laughing and shouting a bit and dh (thankfully) keeping very calm saying "bring coats and dogs, do not stop to take anything with you, we are leaving NOW" and we then piled in the car and drove like the wind (well as fast as one could in freezing fog) and made it only 8 mins late and happily things were running a bit late at that end too and there's an optional bit at the beginning so not too bad all in all. Felt tired on Sunday and I'd forgotten to order fuel as well (menopausal memory) so we were worried the central heating would stop but we had a nice day dog-walking in morning and visiting the mud monster dhorse in the afternoon. Didn't want to come back but loads on this week at office/home so needs must.
So far today have only emptied dw, done two washes and put in td, and put another two on.
Feeling a bit flat today. Not looking forward to Friday (obviously). DD is getting a bit of stick at school about it too (nothing serious but its comments from teachers as well as friends). A friend of ours is very ill. Then there is all the awful things in the news about Corona, environmental disasters, hideous men like Weinstein, and today all horrific and terribly sad coverage of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. Heard a very erudite woman on the BBC reminding us that as this only took place in the 20th century, and since then there has been genocide in Cambodia, Bosnia, Rwanda and many other places , it would be folly to assume it won't happen again in modern times. (In fact is it happening right now with Rohingya muslims in Myanmar? ) A good but sobering point I thought... .
Amazing stories of fortitude and resilience though too ... .
Anyway, anyway, sorry to witter on ... . I must go and do something useful. I'm ashamed to say the boudoir is still in a pitiful state and desperately needs attention.
Haven't caught up with thread but mahoosive waves to everyone!
