Fledglings aim for an amazing August - the Flylady thread

...or just aim to get through the summer holidays!

Welcome to the August Flylady thread. This is a really lovely thread where we loosely follow the Flylady system (see the Flylady website ) in the hope of having organised homes and lives.

Every day I will post a link to the launchpad which has everything you need for that day if you do want to follow the system strictly. Plenty of options to follow the system more loosely as well :).

Please do familiarise yourself with the Flylady website, especially if you are new. The Flylady is (understandably) keen that people do look at the website.

On the website there is information for beginners. You can also sign up to the Flylady emails but we would advise not to as there are hundreds of them.

We post our achievements (ta das) and our to do lists and any other general chatter about life / flying.

Information on getting started: www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/

The launch pad is also a good starting place:www.flylady.net/c/lp.php

Fly stands for Finally Loving Yourself. The general idea is that short bursts of tidying / organisation are more achievable than marathon efforts. Flylady advises 15 minute bursts is effort but you can tweak this to fit your own circumstances.

Be kind to yourselves, jump in where you are and be careful not to crash and burn!

*
A daily summary (which should update automatically every day) is available on the Flylady website at flight plan here.

The link to the current zone and missions is [[http://www.flylady.net/c/sp.php#missions here].

Re. zones, do what works for you. I don’t always stick to the zones myself and do what works best at the time!

daily focus

missions for the week

Flykids mission

August’s habit is laundry - attempt to conquer Mt. Washmore!

beginner babysteps.

The best place to look for an overall summary is the launch pad.

Happy flying everyone.
**

Please note that while there is lots of information on the website, from a security point of view we would advise caution with putting any personal details in or downloading anything.

Also a huge thank you to Expletive for the July thread CakeFlowersBrewWine.

I keep coming back to FlyLady but never stick to it ! I flit between this and the organised mum method, I think once my youngest starts nursery in September, some kind of routine that mingles in between the 2 methods will emerge Grin

Dishwasher emptied
Coffee drank in peace whilst kids are still asleep !!

I haven't got a to do list today apart from go out with the kids somewhere, the weather forecast is dry so either bikes to the local park or a walk somewhere, I'll ask them when they're all up and about.

Does anyone use the app? Do you find it useful?

IVEgottheDECAF · 12/08/2019 08:42

I think i saw that '6' thing on BGT zoo

I have the midwife later today. I might ask about crutches. I could barely get my legs to work when i needed the loo in the night and nearly fell on the floor Sad

Ta da

Ate cereal
Took iron tablet

ChicCroissant · 12/08/2019 10:11

As I have an Android phone, the app isn't an option for me anyway - I don't know why they didn't do an Android version.

Really must get on with something Blush

Lisette1940 · 12/08/2019 10:26

Regrouted small section behind kitchen tap. tries very hard to ignore overgrown garden

Cup of tea next. Will seek out timer for quick clean.

Bowerbird5 · 12/08/2019 10:42

I’ve sorry to hear that.

Zoo🏅for blitzing. Ah thanks re alphabetty and wow to the level. I might like that I like word things and sudoku.

Tidy whatever helps you get it done by my book.

Not feeling sick. Had a late, late small supper and then felt ill but this morning I feel ok and I have had breakfast cereal. Just feel very tired as I was awake till early hours then slept and then woke up and awake until light. Could do with a nap now.

Lisette1940 · 12/08/2019 11:13

Glad to hear you're feeling better Bower

Sorry to hear of continuing SPD problems I've

Waves to tidy 👋. I flit between different systems too but flylady seems to work best at the moment for me.

Tidyhomewannabe · 12/08/2019 12:32

Ta da
Everyone up , washed & dressed
15 mins declutter in our bedroom (the worst room at the moment)
Cleared bathroom sides
Hoovered up & downstairs
Breakfast pots done
2 loads of washing out on the line

Bowerbird5 · 12/08/2019 13:41

Day is looking more promising. It isn’t raining ☔️ yet! We are still on flood alert but one of our roads is clear now so I may venture out later for some shopping.

Animals fed
Me fed.
Some sorting of alcohol. We have lots of bottles taking up room with just two or three glasses of brandy, gin, raspberry gin liqueur and something with no name but BF homemade Christmas liqueur.

Tackled some of the washing pile. Putting away some of the ironing.
Some dusting.
One load of washing done.

TooStressyTooMessy · 12/08/2019 14:18

Hi Tidy Smile. I keep thinking about the app but have a Home Routines one instead.

Glad you are feeling a bit better Bower.

Well done on re-grouting Lisette and in blitzing zoo. Definitely ask about crutches Ive. Wow at loft decluttering Chic!

Struggling to get into the Internet here but managing it every so often. Big wing flaps to all, happy flying and hope weather isn’t too awful where you are.

ChicCroissant · 12/08/2019 20:13

Mw was crap. Not usual mw as she was sick. Basically said all they can do is refer me back to physio where i wont be seen until after baby is born.

I may just buy myself nappies

Lisette1940 · 12/08/2019 22:06

That's rubbish I've I'm genuinely shocked. You can't be left like that. Why not physio now?

IVEgottheDECAF · 12/08/2019 22:07

The waiting list is ridiculous

I was seen once about 3 months ago and then discharged

Lets just hope baby fancies getting out soon Smile

LivingInLaputa · 13/08/2019 00:13

That’s so shit ive :(

Argh was sooo sleepy earlier (but DH was out so couldn’t leave toddler) and now am wide awake. That swim really did me in. Didn’t go far but it was first swim in 12 days and I think I’m more worn out than I realised from the trip away still.
