Welcome to the thread where we (loosely) follow the Flylady housekeeping system here to combat CHAOS (can't have anyone over syndrome) with a load of Wine, chat and mutual support along the way. Quite a few of us have been on here for a while, so for that reason, we may seem cliquey, but we really aren't, and all newcomers, lurkers, returnees, regulars, and intermittent regulars are very welcome!

Every day I will post a link to the activities for "Today" which summarises everything you need on a daily basis if you want to follow the system strictly, but we tend to adapt it to suit our individual circumstances, homes and energy-levels!

Please note that, although Flylady is keen for us to check in to the website, we've recently had a few concerns wrt security, so although there is lots of useful info on the site, it's best not download it or put any of your personal details into the website for now.

More information on getting started available:
here (containing baby-steps!) but please don't hesitate to ask if you have any further qs.

There are 4 levels for Flying:
-Baby steps - good for starting a routine and overcoming the perfection crippling effect
-Baby steps and missions - basic routine + more in depth tasks
-Baby steps, missions, and deep cleaning (if you are at that stage).
You can't clean clutter so don't consider this one if you need the next level.
-Flying combined with a decluttering system (kondo/unfuck etc etc) let's be honest fly lady is good for routine but not so quick with the decluttering results sometimes.

There is NO wrong or right way of doing this, it is about adapting the system to suit your life circumstances, which will be different from someone else's, and don't be put off by the barftastically twee nature of the Flylady site, the underlying system is sound. Feel free to ignore any step or routine that doesn't suit you or your home! No perfectionism allowed!

And when it all gets too much: come and take a seat by the fire in our specially adapted "naughty" corner where you can enjoy virtual Cake and Wine and lots of support from fellow fledglings.

More info follows ( but again, please note we advise only looking at the pdfs and not downloading them ):

** launch pad (general info) here

** daily babysteps pdf (ignore the ones that don't suit you or your home) here

** week day missions (some fledglings find it easier to do them at weekends) here

** info about zones (explanation of how zones work) [[http://www.flylady.net/d/br/2017/06/11/please-explain-the-zones-6/
here]]

** weekly zones (a rough weekly guide to which area of the house we are tackling currently, again adapt to suit yourself) here

** daily focus (helpful guide to allocate a certain day for a certain task) here

** deep cleaning lists pdf (only attempt when you have decluttered as you can't clean clutter!) here

Oh and not forgetting "habit of the month" which for June is : drinking water!

Good luck and happy Flying one and all!

Jeez, you needed some estrogen to balance up your house I've,but healthy babies are all the counts in the end...I must admit I had sciatica with D's and they thought I had what you got with lil zoo.fml it was hard work on stairs near the end.i think had I had no5(which I would still give anything for coz I am an old crazy idiot) I suspect I'd be in same territory as you feeling like I was falling apart though as shoulder is now fucked, hip joins in and we won't go into my back I guess it's happening anyways

Got soaked getting D's meds as dp "fancied a walk"like I don't do that all day every bloody day and it poured.he has a brolly (I don't)which he's great at catching me with sharp bits like kids do,and it tips on me at intervals as he's such a clutzonly silver lining was left DS with lil zoo so they didn't get half drowned

School left email want to visit Monday=massive clean up operation that will take all weekend...
Felt so defeated by everything retreated to bedand slept til dd2 came home.then ate 4french fancies and bag crisps and felt sick..

Sat listen dd2 daymoaned about mine.shes now gone to put some her stuff away

IVEgottheDECAF · 07/06/2019 18:17

Omg i want french fancies

Stilllivinginazoo · 07/06/2019 18:32
IVEgottheDECAF · 07/06/2019 18:41

I could go buy two boxes on monday and eat them while everyone is out and dc4 is asleep ........

Stilllivinginazoo · 07/06/2019 18:52

If there are any left this is an excellent plan I've

IVEgottheDECAF · 07/06/2019 19:10

Hmm dont you go bursting my bubble zoo! Shattering my dreams!

Stilllivinginazoo · 07/06/2019 19:25
Lisette1940 · 07/06/2019 19:45

I particularly like the chocolate French fancies. I even like the Halloween version.

What a day you've all had.

Stilllivinginazoo · 07/06/2019 20:12

I have a penchant for the summer (strawberry flavoured) edition- hope they do it again this year- and frosty fancies.orange ones do nothing for me(allergic to orange do don't even like it's flavouring)and imo should be banned!!

Tada
Little ones fed- (tinned)sardines in buttered toast.carrot sticks and apple slices

Veg sausages in oven with lashing of squash, onions courgettes and green beans.broccoli and broad beans will cook with the pasta. I think cheese will be added to cooked pasta as I need the comfort!!

Lisette1940 · 07/06/2019 20:17

I'll look out for the summer ones Zoo! I didn't notice the Halloween ones were orange flavoured. possibly eating them too quickly to notice

Singingcricket · 07/06/2019 21:43

🌼 Launch pad link containing flight plan for Sat well it will when it updates itself! Best to refer to it and not download!

I LOVE fondant fancies, any flavour I'm not fussy!!

Made my banana loaf. Had to bin it. First time custard didn't improve a gone wrong cake Sad

Singingcricket · 07/06/2019 22:43

If it makes you feel any better Foxes I cooked a "healthy" rice, veg and fish dish tonight which was really horrible and it went in the bin! Grin

Hope you are ok Zoo and I probably shouldn't say this but fhs send your dp over here and I'll teach him some basic manners (and umbrella etiquette) Angry

Sorry you have to clean over the weekend! I can't believe the school does home visits (so intrusive). Don't go and exhaust yourself - you clean so much anyway - and I am sure they won't be interested in your dusting routine! More important to make sure you are rested and on good form for the meeting itself. Good luck with it all! Flowers

I need have a good sort out today too so will keep you company Smile

foxessocks · 08/06/2019 08:28

zoo sorry about your rubbish nights sleep Sad
Well the mixture was too wet I think the bananas were actually too ripe...and it just sunk in the middle. Which I thought wouldn't matter if I just put custard on it. But it actually just tasted horrible!

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/06/2019 08:32

Ta I've have a Brew
Breakfast has been bought to me by I'm fucking tired and I don't care- a banana, galaxy ripple and four chocolate chip cookies.i may pay for this with reflux,my gut might complain in next few days.right now I don't give a flying fuck!!

Starting in front room I've divided the work into four sections(quarters basically) computer table corner(incl TV unit) to fireplace.fireplace to my sofa and behind it.behind other sofa(usually major shitfesr) and dining table- on and under

IVEgottheDECAF · 08/06/2019 08:40

I am actually jealous of that breakfast except the banana all i had was cereal Sad

👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋

To everyone.

I’ve my sister had home births after her first. The fifth one they made her go through to main hospital 35 miles away as baby not in correct position as transverse ,while she was in labour. Baby turned during ambulance ride and ended up easy birth!
Also back zoo regards pillow and also position bum in air, head down I used to do that with one of mine. It does work eases pain. Pillow at night needs to be firm I think I had two to raise hip. Re DD. I was allowed towards end to use the lift at college instead of two or some days three flights of stairs. Lots of offers to accompany me as some to lazy to use stairs, I took two at a time one carried bag and one to “look“ after me ! Consultant forgot to tell me when to stop college so carried on until the week before as we finished anyway except Wednesday’s. He did tell me at Easter to stop placement DD born June. Don’t know how I did it now. Two were at Secondary though.
Several families of 5 or 6 at school.

Cordelia how annoying. You planned and bought stuff. I would be delighted if one of my kids did that for me. Glad to hear your dad is finding he still has a backbone.

So I haven’t done kitchen as most of it still ok since new one in. DH not always putting stuff back and DD bought enough tea for months( different varieties) but otherwise everything seems ok where I first put it. I may add food to corner unit and take fish kettle and roasting pans out and store in shed. DH still hasn’t found Rayburn kettle I suspect he threw it out years ago. We have one shed to clear in summer. Hope kitchen tiles maybe there otherwise we have found some new ones.

I popped in for quick browse but ran out of charge to post. I have been very busy at work. We have been going to summerhouse after school for cup of tea and crossword/ reading. Yesterday DH said he would bring it down. He had put DDs rocking chair in after I said too big on Wednesday. It doesn’t look to bad and after a cup of tea he fell asleep in it! I carried on decluttering magazines tearing bits out. Recipes , patterns etc. When he woke up he went inside. The heavens opened (previously drizzle) and there was something quite relaxing about the rain on the roof and sitting reading whilst looking at the garden, Henny penny and the Pennines. Last Wednesday we went to son 2 to move some stuff around in his garage. We have some furniture stored there too. On doing that I found a tea trolley table and a carpet square that fit in near perfectly. So now we have furniture, plants and soon tea cups and gin!
Going to post now before I run out of charge. Back later.😉

Stilllivinginazoo · 08/06/2019 09:33

Watching Genny penny and penines sounds wonderful bower
I've the banana was my attempt at excusing eating shite with hint of healthy(only ate half as bottom end was bruised)

Tada
Living room
Computer table cleared,quick tidy underneath

TooStressyTooMessy · 08/06/2019 10:26

Hello all, we are away at my in-laws for the weekend. Rain and more rain here. Our home town has an outdoor event thing today which will be a washout Sad. Hope for the people involved it is not a total disaster.

Cagliostro · 08/06/2019 11:41

Aw that’s a shame stressy :(

I’m in a cafe with a most unsatisfactory hot chocolate Hmm while DD does ballroom (don’t much like this cafe but there’s nowhere else to sit), normally DH takes her but he was in a lot of pain so I took over. He’s still got the toddler at home. Also posted a return package and bought a ruby kitkat for later :o

Want to get the Caglets tidying up a bit over the weekend as we have some new friends over on Monday (well, I sort of know the mum but the kids haven’t hung out before) and upstairs is a tip. So is downstairs TBF but it’s more spacious!

Bowerbird5 · 08/06/2019 13:41

Ta da

I have done Monday’s today. All around front door wiped, vacuumed and tidied. I keep my school bags here as we use the kitchen/ side door. I piled everything into sitting room and cleaned everything there. Looks much nicer with bags of school crap but heigh ho need to put it somewhere. It is getting less though as I just go through and chuck everything.i have never been so ruthless. In the end I perceive it will just be Nuture stuff left which I hope to give to a Nuture group through my trainer.
Coats removed and sorted two for washing and two need dry cleaning.
Put back less and emptied another file. Have enoughpaper to start fire for years but may take it in a bag for school recycling one day.
Vacuumed all downstairs now up in boudoir which is a mess on one side of room. Going to make bed then put clothes away and then check what is left. DH gave up helping me after about five minutes. He is sorting old files and paperwork. I would have preferred some help still at least he is doing something though he is sitting and I am not!

Zoo it is sounding good. I also sometimes to a stash and dash. Big supermarket bag shove anything found in random places so collect and sort later. Then deeper clean for visitors after they have gone can sort rubbish / things.

Haven’t been in summer house today but needing to go soon. Wet wet wet here. On flood alert as rivers and tide times 🤭

Be back later hopefully with boudoir tidy😉

foxessocks · 08/06/2019 14:53

Total washout here too. We were meant to be going out for the day with my parents but gave up after a few hours because it was torrential rain! We are at their house now and the dc are watching TV, I'm bored because I didn't think to bring anything with me like a book didn't think I'd need it Hmm

Bowerbird5 · 08/06/2019 16:55

Nip out and treat yourself to a magazine foxes😉good excuse.

I’ve run out of steam now. DH made a sandwich a cup of tea, then I went to summerhouse for a break and a read. I have a stash of magazines I buy and don’t always get time to read so now I have them down there and after reading and crosswords I take out patterns, cooking gardening bits. I save them up to read the serials in one go.

Trouble is now I have relaxed I can’t be bothered to do any more!
