No delayed exit for clutter - March Flylady Thread 2019 for fledglings!

What would a combo of exit and clutter be, clexit? Exclutter? Perhaps we should just stick with declutter ....

Welcome to the March Flylady thread, we’d love to have you with us as we chat and work our way through our houses in March. Flylady uses the zone method of cleaning so we’ll be focusing on a different area of the house each week – we will post daily links to the Launch Pad on the Flylady website which gives all the details of the current Zone, daily missions and babysteps.

Newbies are always welcome so feel free to join in at any time. Flylady does recommend decluttering your house first, so if you are not ready for the cleaning routines yet it’s fine to focus on the decluttering bit – add the babysteps in if you wish.

Here is an attempt at iambic pentameter Chic...

Another year has gone, it’s world book day
Some schools do dressing up, some say ‘no way’
Of the two schools to which my daughters go
The students have to dress a potato Hmm

Ok it’s not perfect and actually only DD2’s school is doing the potatoe dress up, DD1 is having some inconveniently timed book fairs. Neither are doing proper dress up so both DDs are unimpressed.

More washing
Church with D's to look at stations of cross
(Did half of the today)
Made lunch

Clear up
He's now doing cell division and respiration in science workbook we bought
Some wash on airer(tops with weird transfers)rest in dryer
It is perishing out icy wind and driving rain.pick up has never looked so unattractive

A poem
I stumbled once upon Mumsnet,
Some lovely people I have met.
We have a corner with a bar stocked with drinks,
A leader who does cleaning links.
We chat away and have dump life's troubles,
Whilst drinking gin(they're often doubles).
We add in chocolate, and foxes cakes
Belgian chocolate and various bakes
We clean up if we have the time
(Am I boring you yet with my rhyme?)
We can be slatterns or queens of clean,
But most of us are in between
I love this thread there is no flaming
We talk of men and DC taming
We've met new friends along the way
Who help us thru our hardest days
Raise your mops,or mug or glasses
Cheers ladies.now sit on your arses

Well now I know what to do next time I'm bored Toostressy . Reckon I could make a pretty good model of Flylady out of a potato and a heritage beetroot Grin

Stilllivinginazoo · 07/03/2019 15:50

I can imagine fat fairy as heritage beet head and spud body!!

Cagliostro · 07/03/2019 16:39

Not just any beetroot, it has to be heritage!

Loving all the poetry. :o

World book day has passed me by. Caglets cobbled together some costumes last minute (good old HP, as we already had a cloak from a charity shop ages ago, and Thalia from Percy Jackson) but I wasn’t feeling well enough to go to the party. Between DH and DSS and a friend changing plans, they still got to go, and DD has gone early for her sleepover. Staying home with DS now, we just started his chemistry book. No written work in the book yet just discussion and videos. I think I need to get the Caglets some folders too for worksheets and such. Now planning some vikings stuff (we are using a study guide thing, but will be supplementing). Feel like HE has finally gone back to a decent standard after such a long break. So that’s something.

Long evening ahead though. It’s a very difficult stage with rowan, I would love to play some board games or something with DS but she’s just so into everything and won’t nap any more today. Mum is arriving before DH will be home but still late.

Sanguineclamp · 07/03/2019 16:48

Naturally Cag! Wink.

Good work re: HE and good luck with your long evening ahead. Brew Cake

Stilllivinginazoo · 07/03/2019 17:53

bog standard or hand picked by Elfin's on a full moon whilst weeping beets I'm sure it will still brighten my day!!
Think of it as a crafting therapyWink

foxessocks · 07/03/2019 19:22

X post zoo oh no!

Bowerbird5 · 07/03/2019 19:49

Baked potato, broccoli and lamb chops. Lovely but then he dumped the pan chops were on in the sink. Grease all around the bowl and the sink. Left me to wash up and tidy kitchen. I’m tired and my back is aching having been on my feet a lot today. School trip tomorrow so going to bed earlier tonight.

Sorry to hear some DCs are poorly and also some fledglings SC and I’ve and anyone else.

Bowerbird5 · 07/03/2019 20:03

Ooh yes poems were fab.

We had a few unicorns, lots of Harry Potters and princesses. Some great home made ones.

Wine ...made mulled from left over last night. Maybe a gin.

No one wants to watch Crufts 🤨
