No delayed exit for clutter - March Flylady Thread 2019 for fledglings!

What would a combo of exit and clutter be, clexit? Exclutter? Perhaps we should just stick with declutter ....

Welcome to the March Flylady thread, we’d love to have you with us as we chat and work our way through our houses in March. Flylady uses the zone method of cleaning so we’ll be focusing on a different area of the house each week – we will post daily links to the Launch Pad on the Flylady website which gives all the details of the current Zone, daily missions and babysteps.

Newbies are always welcome so feel free to join in at any time. Flylady does recommend decluttering your house first, so if you are not ready for the cleaning routines yet it’s fine to focus on the decluttering bit – add the babysteps in if you wish.

Afternoon, love a bit of mash on a gloomy day zoo .
We've just been to the shops and ds chose a mini pizza for his lunch. I've made myself feel better by putting sweetcorn and cucumber on his plate too! But he's mostly playing with it Hmm

Dd back to school today but she cried the whole way Sad which made me feel terrible for sending her. She is fine but probably tired and lacking energy (as am I!)

At least we all slept better last night, got ds a Calpol plug in and he slept 12 hours solid! He seems less snotty today anyway.

Ta da
Been to the library
Sold a toy and it's been picked up
Wiped the glasses shelf in the kitchen
Tidied and decluttered dc books / puzzles drawers
Dishwasher emptied and reloaded
Washing on
Rubbish out
Got some leftovers out of the freezer to go with our fish tonight (trying to use stuff up from the freezer this week)

To do
Pretty much everything you can think of!

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/03/2019 13:02

Calpol plug in is amazing i always use it for myself when i am full of it Grin

foxessocks · 06/03/2019 13:03

Oh and this might make some of you laugh. We had dd (5) parents evening last night and they had the kids say some things in their own words about what they enjoy. My dds answers , what do you enjoy doing at school? Whistling. What do you enjoy doing at home? Whistling in the morning. What do you want to learn how to do? Whistle louder. What have you enjoyed learning at school? How to whistle.

???????? Grin

She has mentioned a few other things but we suspect the teacher was prompting some of the other bits Grin

foxessocks · 06/03/2019 13:05

I've it really is amazing!! I can't believe we've never used one before and we have a 5 year old and a 2 year old, how has it escaped us until now?!

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/03/2019 13:07

God knows i am always telling folk about it lol it is good shit

Cagliostro · 06/03/2019 14:46

Thanks for thoughts it’s a flipping minefield isn’t it?

I should get one of these calpol plugs. We have a vaporiser thing from boots but it doesn’t seem to do much. I’ll add it to the wish list.

My scales arrived and I can no longer stick my head in the sand regarding my weight eeeeek

Stilllivinginazoo · 06/03/2019 17:29

Tada
Wash up got done
Located and scrubbed dining table surface
Cleared lots clutter that was building in corner of front room-- lots bits I've recycled into paper bin, rehomed stray belongings

What annoys me is I can see where I've been and makes other clutter look worse so how do I stop rebuilding bloody piles?!Angry

School run

As expected dd2 is now in agony, poor thing.just pop to local shops and picked up cheap yogurts in heron foods, along box ready break and jelly with fruit in pots as she was crying at lunch she couldn't even chew pasta and was so hungry tried swallowing without chewing😢

Tea tonight for her will be soup (made of veg I roast for myself) and add in some mixed beans.top with some grated cheese and I got a Warburton's farmhouse which is very soft bread for her to dunk in it

Little ones wanted tuna and tomato pasta(literally tuna and chopped fresh tomatoes tossed into cooked pasta with basil oil and black pepper) .I love it when they choose and it's an easy option!!

Sanguineclamp · 06/03/2019 19:24

Bloomin' well done Zoo that sounds really good and nutritious and amazing value! Glad your ds enjoyed church service too.

Grin re: your DD and whistling Foxes

I feel bad because I didn't get to church today. DD ill and I didn't feel up to going on my own.

Stilllivinginazoo · 06/03/2019 19:47

You are being unkind to yourself again SC
You are recovering from major surgery and your child's unwell.either would let anyone else say it's ok not to go.you know you don't need to be in church to pray/reach out to God so you can offer thoughts at home
Don't make me get in a dingy and paddle over there to give you a good shaking!!!!

Sanguineclamp · 06/03/2019 21:04

Grin you'd be very welcomeZoo !

I must confess though that I haven't been good with church attendance in general over the past few months. I feel guilty but also disillusioned with the institution for reasons that are not hard to guess. Every time a priest preaches I can't help thinking about loss of credibility/moral responsibility. Still participate in the parish/ social justice activities though.

Dh has just informed me that he is going to be working again tomorrow. However, DD and I have had an interesting time this evening researching Tchaikovsky for her latest cultural project. I had no idea he was originally a civil servant and that he was trilingual in French, German and Russian aged six. Can you tell recuperation is starting to get boring

Stilllivinginazoo · 06/03/2019 21:18

At least you have DD homework research to stop you trying to guestimate how long til the sun implodes or what lives in a wormhole in space.....
I am curled up comforting dd2 on sofa with her laptop on our laps streaming various episode favourite shows snuggled up together.shes max out today's pain meds and still uncomfortable so expecting very little if any sleep

Sanguineclamp · 06/03/2019 21:26

Oh dear Zoo hope you both manage some shut eye and your dd2's pain diminishes soon.

Stilllivinginazoo · 06/03/2019 21:47

I'm desperate to sleep already SC.late night try get her to settle last night, lil zoo up at 3 with sore throat....
DS is wobbling with anxiety tonight, lil zoo been down twice with throat- I've sent her back up with a barley sugar to suck.one at a time please guysSad

Sanguineclamp · 06/03/2019 21:57

Sending you strength and patience Zoo good luck for tonight x

IVEgottheDECAF · 07/03/2019 07:24

zoo BrewCakeFlowers

Shit nights sleep here. 'Dp' went out and came in being a noisy selfish arrogant cunt. Sometimes i think you have the right idea not living with yours zoo

My arse / back / legs are sore. Only places i can get comfy are bed and on the sofa. My arse needs softness.

It is indeed World Book Day, and my thoughts (and a pain au chocolate and a strong coffee) are with those of you who still have to dress their child for the day. A thread leader of note would be writing this post in iambic pentameter in the style of Shakespeare. Unfortunately, you have me this month so that won't be happening Grin

I think my DD is a bit disappointed they don't dress up in secondary school tbh - we always liked the dress-up days though. They have some kind of book swap available, although it hasn't been advertised to the parents so I am slightly doubtful as to the take-up rate in school, especially as it hasn't been mentioned on the FB page (the source of all knowledge!)

Had my croissant this morning, just having my decaff coffee and will crack on. Will check the thread just for rest purposes, of course.

One benefit of secondary I think chic dd2 had option dress as Hogwarts character in year 7(she didn't bother)then wasn't bothered after that hurrah

Given my common language I would think on wrong thread if you went all flowery or Shakespearean on me chicGrin

Tada
School run
S+s bathroom
Set D's up with maths workbook
Gather laundry aimed in or at least around bins(ignore floordrobes piles)and put 2nd load in
Wipe kitchen surfaces
Clean hob
Wash up
Empty bins
Littertray
Wash in drier,more on

Time go thru D's camhs work and look at today's lent reflection in little workbook we were given at church yesterday then we are off to community cafe to meet up with lady that gave D's it.shes offered to chat with him, answering questions and explain stations of cross in church for him

Sanguineclamp · 07/03/2019 12:35

Actually Chic I think you should throw in some blank verse and heroic couplets Wink Grin for good measure.

One of the advantages of the narrow education here is that DC only have to dress up once a year at Carnaval in primary (apart from annual end of year show when costume-making is shared). Absolutely nothing extra to do in secondary at all apart from annual cake-making!

Washing and dw is on. DH at work. That is all.
