No delayed exit for clutter - March Flylady Thread 2019 for fledglings!

ChicCroissant · 28/02/2019 09:40

What would a combo of exit and clutter be, clexit? Exclutter? Perhaps we should just stick with declutter ....

Welcome to the March Flylady thread, we’d love to have you with us as we chat and work our way through our houses in March. Flylady uses the zone method of cleaning so we’ll be focusing on a different area of the house each week – we will post daily links to the Launch Pad on the Flylady website which gives all the details of the current Zone, daily missions and babysteps.

Newbies are always welcome so feel free to join in at any time. Flylady does recommend decluttering your house first, so if you are not ready for the cleaning routines yet it’s fine to focus on the decluttering bit – add the babysteps in if you wish.

Welcome lamars :)

I have the opportunity to nap and I still can’t sleep ffs

Friend coming round later we will split a takeaway and I’ll have company.

Got some good home ed work in between clubs so that’s good

Sanguineclamp · 14/03/2019 15:54

Zoo they are definitely muscari aren't they? (bulbs). Beautiful!

A warm welcome to LaMarschallin! Sounds as if you have a hard task ahead!

Great lists achieved Zoo and Foxes!

Hope you feel less anxious as the day goes on Cag and shame about play pen.

Waves to I've, Hills ,Meet, Chic* Toostressy, Holly, Icarriedaturnip, Honu, Lisette Pushme and everyone I've missed.

All I've done this morning is sit in a bright white shiny windowless hospital waiting room like something out of a space ship (brand white new hosp so wi-fi allowed) doing my on-line grocery order, followed by appt itself. Did put laundry X 2 on before I left (now hung up to dry) and two more on. Dw on (evident DH has come home and made himself lunch in my absence looking at the kitchen mess (sigh)). Also have folded towels and tea-towels straight from td.

To do:
hang up next two loads washing
continue boudoir
find customer number for service provider which we need urgently
write note to neighbours in three langs re: something that has blown off one of their balconies on to our terrace.

Cagliostro · 14/03/2019 15:59

Hope all ok at hospital sc
This thread may interest you due to DD’s choices! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/3532784-Has-anyone-got-a-career-in-science-while-still-being-a-bit-weak-at-maths

Still can’t sleep. I did have some Pepsi yesterday TBF which I do try and keep to a minimum but this is extreme even by my standard. Going to watch something on the iPad instead while still snuggled up with sleepy rowan

Sanguineclamp · 14/03/2019 16:07

Ooh that's interesting Cag thanks for posting. Will show it to Dr. (And no it's not my thread, even though I do have a cotton wool brain. Grin)

Hospital was fine thanks. Three student doctors looking up my fundament. Meh.

LaMarschallin · 14/03/2019 16:16

Thanks, Sanguine!
I keep telling myself "It didn't get dirty in a day, it won't get clean in a day".
But I hope it won't take another 20 years to get clean Smile

Sanguineclamp · 14/03/2019 16:27
Sanguineclamp · 14/03/2019 16:38

Heres hoping LaMarschallin! I've cleared out two houses and one flat left behind by others so you have my sympathies! Small steps and all of that ... .

Stilllivinginazoo · 14/03/2019 17:40

SC hope you are ok.thanks confirming what's a growing in my garden!!
Foxes I get restless when cross,so angry cleaning is a two in one really
Lamars welcome

Didn't get floors done, but did start clean out fridge and finish off hob!

Looks much better!

To do
Cook dinner(bolognaise I think, and might makes some garlic bread as have part bake baguette,.soy mince version for dd2.she loves her veggies so will have a side of roast veg too)
Clear and clean dining table
Need wait load in machine to finish then load in, rinse and wash the whites

I wonder if "d"p will show his face tomorrow.im still mad at him as quick emergency local shop means I don't now have enough for the full on top up shops at cheaper places.....he may be better keeping a very low profile😤

Camhs rang.booked us an app at school to discuss D's education (well lack of it).school said can't do next week, want week after .cant help thinking they need time to formulate a plan and excuses why he's been left with sod all😒😒😒😒

Best go cook dinner before I start filling with rage again!!

TooStressyTooMessy · 14/03/2019 18:36

Hi all, back from work and am shattered! Today was a nice day but yesterday was a long intense day so we are all exhausted. Didn’t have a good night’s sleep last night due to being woken up many times Hmm. No flying will take place tonight, just waiting for bedtime!

Bower Flowers

Hope the gloss paint is mopped up for whoever that happened to Shock. Pushme was it?

Must power through as have sort of collapsed now since I got home. Plan is ready meal tea and have just had a coffee in the hope of waking up.

SC, not sure if this helps your thoughts or not. I had an idea I wanted to be a HCP from my early teens. Although I dithered a lot on the actual type of health career to go into my career choice in terms of healthcare was defined early and then my degree was a professional / vocational one. Although there are many benefits to this (not least that there are usually jobs even if the exact job is not the one you want) I have often wondered if it would have been better to be able to be more flexible. I have loads of experience in my sector but not much is transferable outside of health (although I could possibly move into adult education) and my career priorities post- kids are totally different to pre- kids. So I agree with others that there benefits both to choosing a clear path early but also to changing or making later decisions. You will worry whatever happens of course! Not sure if that helps or if it is just a complete ramble.

Must get on.

Big wing flaps to all.

TooStressyTooMessy · 14/03/2019 18:51

I also have to say I wouldn’t advise anyone to become a doctor in the NHS in a million years I’m afraid Sad. Hopefully things will improve in the future and of course I am not sure if it is the UK she would be looking to work in.

foxessocks · 14/03/2019 18:57

Hope everyone has a restful evening sounds like we all need it!

Dd appears to have a urine infection, she's fine in herself at the moment but will need a trip to the GP tomorrow and I can't ring them until the exact time I have to leave the house for school Confused . That'll be fun!

Lisette1940 · 14/03/2019 19:04

Wishing good health to those connected with the thread. Easy dinner, child at soccer, need to do night time routine. Must forget to collect child 😉🤣

Lisette1940 · 14/03/2019 19:05

No no no no!!! mustn't forget to collect child. Ruddy autocorrect.

Stilllivinginazoo · 14/03/2019 19:12

Lisette so glad it's not just me that posts and autocorrect tells lies!!

Bolognaise inhaled,dd2 complained not enough garlic bread(having pinch bit of theirs and eaten all hers before her soynaise is ready!!)
Lil zoo eating mango sorbet,D's a yogurt whilst watch old episode bake off on home channelSmile
Soy mince is cooking, veg in oven(20 mins til my/dd2 dinner) washed up all pans(mince finishing off in a little foil tin in oven as I CBA wash up again tonight.dd2 offered to eat out said tin so only leaves pasta pan and a tray to wash in the morning!!(slattern I know)
Manage not to mess up my relatively tidy kitchen
No words/text "d"p even when text him about D's school app...if hear a ritual killing on news tomorrow that'll be me cos he showed his face hereHmm

Lisette1940 · 14/03/2019 19:15

Stilllivinginazoo husband's gone to collect him 😀. Not forgotten. At least we haven't had to turn a plane back. Yet.

ChicCroissant · 14/03/2019 19:27

Welcome LaMarschallin, good to have you with us.

We have discovered a bit of a leak in the fish tank filtration system, seems to have made the bottom of the cupboard a bit wet. Unfortunately, this is our drinks cabinet so just need to check the bottles. May be back later, maybe not Gin Wine

It really does help - thank you very much Toostressy - not a ramble at all! I imagine there is flexibility as an HCP in that there will always be a need for your vital services in multiple countries. And yes DD would probably be aiming to train/work over here as she would have to pay the same as a foreign student if she attended a uni in the UK now (whereas she qualifies for (virtually) free tertiary education here). Dd's planning to join the Red Cross this year once she's turned 16, to take her first small step in that direction anyway! We'll see! Hope you can catch some rest tonight!

I'm fine thanks Zoo when I said student doctors "were looking up" I should have more accurately said "peering at". 😱😷😂. Sorrytthat's probably tmi at dinner time. None of them fainted anyway 😁! Still in awe of your multiple suppers! And that's crap about ds school work. Sad Happy to volunteer for ritual killing squad any time btw! (Sharpens medieval pike)

Lisette believe me, once they reach the teen years, you'll occasionally want to leave them in the middle of a soccer pitch! 😋

Chic hope 🐟🐟🐟 ok!

We've had an authentic(ish) Greek salad tonight along with totally inauthentic frozen chips. I have finished off to do list, except for boudoir, which needs more work!

Hope your dd recovers soon Foxes! That appt system seems a bit mad tbh! Presumably every other mother is ringing & trying to leave for school run at that time too? For years here, doctors took their own appt calls during consultations (no receptionists!) which was "interesting" but increasingly it's moving over to on-line appt systems now.

Meet0nTheledge · 14/03/2019 23:17

I can't keep up with the thread! Hope DP turns up and pulls his weight tomorrow Zoo. We have muscari galore in our garden too, pretty little things they are.

Wills - we had ours done a few years ago through a charity scheme, it was very straightforward.

Flying - erm, very little. I have realised we are yet again losing the battle with clutter. Downstairs isn't too bad but upstairs and loft are dreadful.

ChicCroissant · 14/03/2019 23:49

Today definitely didn't stick to the choreography for me, but there is always tomorrow

Launch Pad link for Friday

Bowerbird5 · 15/03/2019 00:18

Didn’t finish until 10pm no charge left on phone so had to walk to DS1 house, feet are now sore .
Had lunch at 12:30 and dinner at 10:45pm.
About to sleep now.

Stilllivinginazoo · 15/03/2019 05:36

Howling winds have woken me,along with cats fighting outside.hoping scoutcats ok(just going to get up and check)
SC a medieval pike you say?that sounds fun as I was thinking chainsaw, but after mulling it over that sounds much more fun slower glad you are ok

Foxes hope DD was ok overnight.poor little thing!we had a friend at nursery constant blader/kidney infections.consultants first question is does she drink squash?mum said yes,but only blackcurrant/summer fruit as orange/lemon will make it worse.he sighed and said red coloured squashes irritate bladder most....just a thought.hope you can get an appointment for today.our doctor hellish for appointments,I tend to ring and just ask triage callback if urgent.nurse/doc rings back and decides needs seeing as emergency.never not been seen as I dont bother unless it's fairly important!

Sanguineclamp · 15/03/2019 05:59

Good morning all! Dark, wet and windy here. Foul!
DD up and off on school trip today (dh has thankfully taken her to coach this morning, as I'm still not allowed to drive yet).

So might as well get a head start chopping a mahoosive mound of veg for Cafod soup supper tonight (Family Fast Day fund-raiser). Thankfully have reinforcements coming to help lug pans about this morning (and will be able to rest this afternoon if all goes well now) but just at this moment rather regretting putting my name down .

Hope those who are sleep-deprived have had a better night!

Sanguineclamp · 15/03/2019 06:02

Aye - a rusty one Zoo harbouring nasty medieval microbes

Yes Foxes hope you get your appt!

foxessocks · 15/03/2019 06:57

Thanks sc, zoo, will be ringing as soon as I can, she slept fine , had a wee this morning which hurt but other than that she's fine in herself. Tbf our gp is usually good, yesterday is the one of only a few times I haven't managed to get an appointment. But I'm aware it is Friday which is always a busy day at doctors.
Zoo interesting about squash. She doesn't drink much of it but I definitely won't give her any for now. She usually drinks water or milk tbh and can only have water at school anyway.

Feel a bit in limbo without knowing what we are doing this morning but I will have to just carry on getting the kids ready regardless!
