Since we were all so chatty and supportive on the last thread, let's keep it going. We're not all mums, not all organised, but we're getting there!

For new joiners: check out www.theorganisedmum.blog for the basics of Level 1 and Level 2 jobs and then come and chat about it!

@frogsarejumpy I think the blog is having issues because of the app. More traffic or something?or maybe updates? Not sure.
If you have Pinterest you can find the print outs on there.

@notso I have three teens. Dd is quite tidy but both ds are disgusting so I shut the doors and leave them in their pits! I am braving ds1 room later to hoover but only because he has a friend coming. Wish me luck!

PJMasksGhekko · 19/08/2019 15:58

I'm loving the app, Friday Focus is living room but I've done quite a bit of it today, so will switch it and do the utility room.
Wish the weather would make it's mind up, it poured down earlier!!

ShatFic · 19/08/2019 18:06

Thanks Littlechocola.
I started today so my lounge is spotless and everywhere else is a mess Grin.
The thought of boot camp was too daunting for me but I guess everywhere will gradually get tidier and cleaner as I go along. Hopefully

Iamdobby63 · 20/08/2019 18:57

I tried swapping days around on the app and now it doesn’t work.... also tried joining the FB page but haven’t heard anything. Love the concept, Gem is very inspirational and I love her sense of humour. I’m sure everything will get ironed out in time.

Pepvixen · 20/08/2019 19:51

I've been back on the wagon after falling off due to building work. House is starting to look better.

I got the app, also because I'm a sheep :D

notso · 20/08/2019 20:02

@Littlechocola how did you get on with DS's room?
I have two teens and two primary school DC. DD and DS2 are the messiest and both react terribly to being asked to tidy up/help out, it makes them really angry. Both have been told off in reception for hiding in the toilets at tidy up time!
DS1 and DS2 seem to be naturally helpful. If I ask them to do anything it will be done.

@Pepvixen baaa Grin

PJMasksGhekko · 20/08/2019 21:01

I've not been doing all 3 bedrooms for Tuesday's jobs, I concentrate on one bedroom then do another the next week etc, so next week is the girls room, got it all done today, and I even done some ironing, which I hate Grin

Littlechocola · 21/08/2019 02:27

@notso I survived! Grin It wasn’t actually too awful although I stayed away from under the bed and found a valence sheet to hide all the crap he’s hiding under there!

I didn’t do the Tuesdays level 2 as I was sleeping off a night shift so it can wait until next week.

Iamdobby63 · 21/08/2019 08:37

For anyone who has successfully joined the Facebook group, is there any talk of issues with the app? Wednesday is still not loading for me.

NinaMarieP · 22/08/2019 18:39

There's lots of talk of glitches with the app. I know they were moving it to a new server as it was overloading because of popularity, and they were working on various issues but not sure if any of that is done yet.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 22/08/2019 22:25

I've not posted in a while. I've done my kitchen today (like a good TOMMer) and I think the grout in my kitchen tiles could do with scrubbing up. I've got asthma so I don't want to use anything to pungent. What's the best thing to try?

notso · 23/08/2019 09:13

Love the valance idea @Littlechocola Grin

I did my kitchen yesterday late as we'd had a long day out and I don't see the point doing it until after dinner. I got into it as I was listening to an audiobook and didn't consider the time. It was midnight when I'd finished! On the plus side it was amazing to come down to a gleaming kitchen this morning.

Not sure what to do today. Living room barely needs anything doing. Don't know whether to have an easy day or tackle something else.

PJMasksGhekko · 23/08/2019 09:16

I'm washing my cushion covers, there are always toys out so they get done every day anyway, going to tackle the utility room later before work.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 23/08/2019 09:19

Not sure what to do today. Living room barely needs anything doing. Don't know whether to have an easy day or tackle something else. Think I may wash the hearth, it only ever gets done every few weeks and then tackle the car which is in a far worse state than the living room Blush

Iamdobby63 · 23/08/2019 09:24

Jiltedjohnsjulie, can you cope with diluted bleach and a toothbrush?

Yes the app seems to be very glitchy, feel a bit sorry for them as it must be quite a headache. The printables are back up so at least people can refer to those. I’m hoping an update later will allow us to swap whole days around easier.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 23/08/2019 09:55

Jiltedjohnsjulie, can you cope with diluted bleach and a toothbrush? . Probably not but I bet DH could...Smile

Pepvixen · 23/08/2019 11:27

Depending on how busy/tired I am when I was totally on top of TOMM earlier in the year, I would either finish when I'd done all the jobs or move on to another room, whichever needed attention.

Right now I don't finish the whole list before the timer goes. I know I'll get back to that soon enough though.

birdling · 24/08/2019 12:28

People who have a dining room, how do you fit it into the week? I tried adding it on to a day, but it needs a lot of work since my 3 kids are extremely crumby. And all of the other rooms need their full day too.

zackly · 24/08/2019 13:41

Hi there! I haven't RTFT because I doubt it would be all that enlightening, but I've decided to start on TOMM and see how it goes. My house is gradually getting cleaner (children getting older and lazy messy ex moved out) but it's a long way from where I'd like it to be. So here I am Smile.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 25/08/2019 08:58

Mine are getting older too zackly. They are definitely past emptying the toys all over the floor stage. The only real mess they make is leaving dishes everywhere.

HalloumiGus · 29/08/2019 22:07

Marking place

Littlechocola · 29/08/2019 22:31

@birdling half an hour only. I add an extra room to hallway day because the hallway never takes 30 minutes.
@JiltedJohnsJulie tell me about it! If all of the dishes were put away they probably wouldn’t fit so it’s great that the dc hoard cups and plates Grin

plinkyblonk · 01/09/2019 12:29

I followed this about a year ago! But let it slip stupidly. Need to get back on the TOMMs wagon.

lazylinguist · 25/09/2019 12:28

I want to start this again, but can I ask a question? On the website it says the everyday tasks should only take 15 mins, but hers include a quick floor clean of living areas, a load of washing, a quick clean of the bathrooms and making the beds. That would take longer than 15 mins, or am I missing something?!

plinkyblonk · 25/09/2019 15:12

@lazylinguist I watched one of her videos and it's just putting washing in the machine and turning it on from what I gather unless I'm missing something.
