We have been using a totally different method to this that saves about 2 hours a week.
It works around understanding what is minimal and what your level of acceptable mess is.
Having a 3 year old means toys everywhere but that can be cleaned up in 5 minutes to an acceptable level.
Their bedroom is often a tip 2 mins after cleaning so it’s best to clear to vacuum etc then let them sort it out. Keeping it clean will come later.
Once you know your basic level it takes barely anything to keep it ticking over.
You then save up some bigger jobs and do when you can, to keep things sorted and stored correctly.
Lastly working out a system to reduce mess in the first place is a big help.
Often we are conditioned to clean far too much and the pressure seems on, in reality the pressure is all in our heads and no one really cares if your house is “acceptably messy” or “lived in”.
Our friends all have children between 2 and 10, we all work to the same philosophy, our relatives and in-laws have started doing it too!
It also could just be kids are messy and we are all too knackered to keep cleaning up after them...
