Since we were all so chatty and supportive on the last thread, let's keep it going. We're not all mums, not all organised, but we're getting there!

For new joiners: check out www.theorganisedmum.blog for the basics of Level 1 and Level 2 jobs and then come and chat about it!

I’m tackling my conservatory again today for TOMM bootcamp. I need to clean all the windows, but it’s a daunting job! Once I’ve done that I’ll only have the hallway to do and then I’ll be starting on the upstairs rooms. I can’t wait to have a totally pristine downstairs - I want to get to the stage where I don’t have to ‘panic clean’ for hours whenever a guest is coming over.

Littlechocola · 12/03/2019 22:43

Back from honeymoon last night and it was amazing to come home to a tidy house!

londonloves · 14/03/2019 08:01

Does anyone have any oven cleaning tips? I had ours done professionally when we moved in (nearly two years ago...) and haven't done it since, don't actually know how to clean an oven!

Pinkbells · 14/03/2019 16:18

Namedy Changedy
It takes me ages as well! But I do one floor (our King and spare room Double) on one day and the top floor (kids rooms) the next day, so have it on my timetable. I hate doing them all in one go and having a mountain of bedding. I also wash all the towels on two different days as they take two loads each.

Pinkbells · 14/03/2019 16:20

Londongloves I watched the oven cleaning guy last time he came, and decided to get the stuff he used - he used Astonish cream and razor blades (you can buy special scrapers for the purpose). You'd need to check whether the oven was safe for the scrapers, ours is cast iron so bombproof. It really works.

3 weeks since my jubilant the house is clean post and its still clean! Hurrah! I'm perhaps not as entirely strict as TOMM but close enough. Its lovely. This is worth it folks xxx

Littlechocola · 31/03/2019 19:20

Well done @lasttimeround it feels great doesn’t it.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 04/04/2019 22:56

I’m not sure why I find it so difficult to keep track of the Friday Focus, but I do. Please can some kind MNer help me out with what I should be doing tomorrow?

Stickmangate · 04/04/2019 23:00

Hi can I join? I’ve been trying to follow tomm for a while now not good at sticking to it! Blush

I think Friday focus is hall and stairs.

My plan is to really get with it over the Easter holidays and hopefully it will continue once school and work are back.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 05/04/2019 08:17

Of course you can join and thanks for telling me what the Friday Focus is Smile

NinaMarieP · 06/04/2019 12:14

I keep a print out of the Friday focus in the hall, it's written on the calendar in the kitchen and I have the list in the back of my bullet journal so I can add it to my weekly plans as I go, still find myself having to check all the time what it is... Confused

Littlechocola · 06/04/2019 17:24

I get confused every week. I like going to look at the website each time because it distracts me from what I should be doing for a while longer Grin
I like hallway Friday because ours is so tiny with nothing in it so it doesn’t need doing again on the Friday so I use that Friday to catch up whatever day I missed due to work. This week it was the kitchen.

FuzzyPixel · 07/04/2019 22:52

Another one hoping to join! My first baby is due in July, and we have just let go of our cleaner, which means I really, really need to get myself organised.

DH and I are going to start with the Messy House Bootcamp tomorrow. Our house isn't too bad, but we'd prefer to have a strong start. I'm weirdly excited.

FuzzyPixel · 07/04/2019 22:53

I should all, all the printable from the website have been printed and laminated. I'm just waiting on some command clips so I can clip them to the inside of my cleaning cupboard.

Stickmangate · 08/04/2019 19:22

Good luck fuzzypixel! I’m hoping to stay on track even with the school holidays. I emptied and sorted our understairs cupboard at the weekend.

We are also selling some baby bits and so a load of stuff is out of the eves cupboard in the spare room so that looks messy again but I know it will get sorted.
Did the living room today and organised some of ds room as future friend for tomorrow

Littlechocola · 10/04/2019 10:40

On a roll today! Does anyone else get excited to tick it all off of their list? Grin

Pepvixen · 14/04/2019 11:20

I fell off the wagon a little bit but back on this week. Amazing how quickly the house looks good.

Littlechocola · 18/04/2019 10:43

We had visitors yesterday and more tomorrow but no having to panic tidy! Even with missing days due to work/other commitments it’s easy to manage.
I’m loving the sun being out and being able to hang out the washing.

Stickmangate · 22/04/2019 20:39

I’ve not stuck to the method for the Easter holidays I’ve no idea how I’m gonna cope during the summer holidays!

However I have managed to do an impromptu boot camp of the kitchen this weekend. Got all my cake tins sorted and in baskets on top of the units so i might actually start baking again. Dh has also cleared out the summer house, it had loads of stuff in from his parents house (from when fil died last year). We’ve managed to make £100 from selling a few bits on fb too. Got 8 black bags for the rubbish tomorrow and a full garden bin and a pile of stuff for Dh to get rid of at work as also managed to get some gardening done.

Feel quiet productive this weekend Smile I sorted out 2 of my clothes drawers last week too now I’m just finishing off folding all the keeping bits and getting them in the drawer.

I’m hoping if we keep on getting rid of bits and sorting that I might actually be able to stick to the method and not have to do the mad tidying when visitors are due by the end of the year Grin

Littlechocola · 26/04/2019 18:22

Well done @Stickmangate very productive!
I hid from today’s Friday focus Grin

Retroraver93 · 10/08/2019 15:03

Hello. Any TOMMers still around?

Discovered thread 1 on here through the week when looking for tips for a tidy house. Had a look at the blog and I'm hoping that this will be the method that will finally help me to get my family home back in order.

Let the decluttering begin .......

NinaMarieP · 12/08/2019 10:10

I'm still here!

If you're looking to chat to other Tommers and get inspiration the Facebook group is hugely active.

Retroraver93 · 12/08/2019 12:22

Thanks for the reply NMP Flowers

Will have a look at the facebook page later

Littlechocola · 12/08/2019 20:58
