Flying Resolutions for the Fledglings

Ok. 1st of January.

It's a long running thread, but we like new people. Just be aware if we seem cliquey it is simply because some of us have known each other for many mumble mumble years.

Respect. We won't tell you what you are doing wrong if you don't tell us. hint if you tell us we are doing it wrong we will tell you you are wrong

Babysteps. If you are new start here. If you dropped off the fly wagon, start here. Basically start here.

Missions. Do these, if you start with the babysteps you will end up doing these during the course of the month.

Decluttering - you can't clean clutter. But experience has shown that fly lady is good for routines but there are other methods that work better for decluttering. Feel free to mix and match.

Emails - feel free sign up to them. Most of us don't because there can be a lot, ergo whilst you are welcome to sign up for them; we don't generally recommend it. especially as one of the babysteps is to delete them anyway

Linkies. We will be linking to the launch pad from there you can get to babysteps, missions, flight plans etc etc. Be aware that some don't update until the date that they are on (eg looking at the links before midnight on Monday will not show the information for Tuesday iyswim)

I'm not busy although I have cleaned up the kitchen after tea and played exhausting early Wii game with DD (I don't think we realised how tiring it was even DD was ready for a break. Don't get the very early games with a mat, they are hard work!).

Can't believe there are only a couple of days left before the rest of the house goes back to school and work Sad I have loved having them here, the holidays are never long enough for me.

I have an organisation challenge planned to keep me busy though, so will plough on with that next week.

Cagliostro · 05/01/2019 00:27

Today's jobs

Morning everyone! Ds in our bed from 2am and he threw a random tantrum at 3am , so we aren't exactly well rested although he did lie in this morning at least.

I really need to go to Asda which is always hideous on a Saturday morning.

Good morning all

A warm welcome to Wheely!

Cake for grumps Hills and ta for links

Xmas Wink

Only just getting up here; slow start. Wish I could still see fields from bedroom window, but alas ... .

Have lovely friends coming around tonight for informal supper and normally I'd be looking forward to it but woke up at 4 am with mahoosive sore throat feeling a bit wretched. Hopefully I'll feel better as day goes on! Lots to do!

Sorry about morning sickness/cold I've take it as steady as you can! You too Cag!

Sass I know exactly what you mean! This fortnight's holiday has gone so quickly; can't believe it's back to work/school on Mon! It's also the only time traditional!y that me and dd get to spend any quality time with dh because holidays are difficult for him in the summer; except this year we weren't alone so feel we've been a bit short-changed somehow!

I'll be on my own with two furries for the first time from Mon too, so should be interesting to see how that goes! Furry2 has fitted in so well, has stopped barking incessantly, has brought a smile to furry1 (saw him playing with a ball for the first time ever the other day - he was neglected as a pup and never learnt to play - so quite amazing to see) and she travels like a dream in the car. The only issue is that I haven't quite mastered walking with two leads. Despite their size, both dogs are quite strong and I keep getting tangled up around lamp posts! Xmas Grin

I love labs Tibni! Wish our furries didn't go upstairs but I was over-ruled! Happily, mine don't shed much and we only have wooden or tiled floors/no carpets. Hope all goes well for you next week!

Zoo and Beepbeep you are both Flying high! Star Star

Hope your DS3 is feeling a bit better today Mercury and you both got some sleep!

Hope you had a lovely evening out Mog!

Glad to hear you had a lazy morning Toostressy you've certainly earned it!

Thinking of you Bower hope you are having a lovely time with your sister!

Waves to all newcomers (hope Flying is going well for you) and everyone I've missed!

Right, it's so late, must get cracking. I'm still in my PJs fhs! Xmas Shock

W0MANlikeME · 05/01/2019 09:26

Also still in pjs

About to drag dc1&2 from beds

Puts on hard hat 👷‍♀️

Slightlycoddled · 05/01/2019 09:29

Have given up on getting to Asda , it isn't going to happen as we are going out for lunch soon! This morning has not been great, everyone tired and shouting, I may have had a cry Blush . However slightly pulled it back now, told dd to go back to bed because she was clearly tired and grumpy and she actually hasShock,ds is now doing a puzzle nicely with dh and I've managed a small ta da list and now having Brew before we head out. Waves to Beep and everyone else!

Bowerbird5 · 05/01/2019 23:42

A late hallo.

Thanks for all your good wishes.
I went out with sis on Thursday. We took her for lunch and wander around gallery.
Friday was an inset day. Wish I had never gone. Bloody stressful. I was feeling crap with cold / asthma and still recovering from bad back. Left before I should have in tears. Thought here I am and sis at home and can’t go into it but felt a put down again by certain person. No one spoke to me at lunchtime and all talking about a night out I ( and a few others ) were excluded from. I really need to hand in my resignation but I will miss having my wage. Will have to go out less. For the first time in our lives we have been going out whenever we felt like it and having a meal out if we wanted to as we are finally not paying anyone’s rent, car etc. Our kids have never been grabby but we have helped them when they have needed it especially the young two which have low wage DS3 and uni and then trying to make name for herself DD. I might add she has just had word she sold 9 pieces of work before Christmas. One big painting we think which is £650 and smaller ones and some soft furnishings. She is just waiting for confirmation of large one. They are in two different galleries and a shop. She has just entered a local gallery photos to see if she can get into a large exhibition.
Went out for meal last night but sis went on train today to surprise our other sister. Shame about yesterday. Not sure if I can face Monday. I was tears and feel embarrassed yesterday evening but also think if I am bursting into tears I am not fit enough to be at work. Foxes hope you are ok tonight. It just hits you sometimes doesn’t it. I told DH in summer I needed a holiday.
Ta das
Continuing to clean kitchen before going to bed each night even when out and someone else’s mess.keeping on top of washing. Just.
Tidied decorations and cards from kitchen need to get boxes out of the bloody loft and pack plus tree new experience as usually lugging it into the garden for the birds.
Cleaned out 🐓 chicken licken.
Mum’s taxi 🚖

Took down tree and other decs in LR2, rearranged and tidied LR2, rearranged and tidied LR1, took some toys upstairs, through some stuff out without crazy horder dd seeing. Rooms now look bigger and cleaner. Decided need rug in LR2, think found one online to order.

I worked out the other day that although i couldnt get mat pay until June, if i get really fed up i could quit in March and claim maternity allowance. Anyway. I voiced some issues at work the other day so hopefully things will improve and that wont be necessary

Slightlycoddled · 06/01/2019 07:21

Thanks Zoo much appreciated. No rush for it.

Sorry you had such a crap evening and night Flowers.
Good luck waking the Krakens. I am about to do the same as DD has revision to do for an exam re-take.

Bower sorry you had such a horrible time at work yesterday. It sounds like such a nasty atmosphere. They all need to do one and grow up frankly Angry
Glad you had a good time with your sister and your dd sounds really talented btw.

Just about to go down, empty the DW, and tackle the rest of the clearing up from last night.

Rest of tasks for day:
start taking down decorations Sad
sort and start washing (haven't done any for a week! )
putting away and organising clothes that are tumbling out of everyone's suitcases - including mine - and that haven't been out away properly
tidying!
chilling out and enjoying last afternoon of holidays Sad
(Hopefully cheering) sausage dog walk! Xmas Grin
