Flying Resolutions for the Fledglings

Ok. 1st of January.

It's a long running thread, but we like new people. Just be aware if we seem cliquey it is simply because some of us have known each other for many mumble mumble years.

Respect. We won't tell you what you are doing wrong if you don't tell us. hint if you tell us we are doing it wrong we will tell you you are wrong

Babysteps. If you are new start here. If you dropped off the fly wagon, start here. Basically start here.

Missions. Do these, if you start with the babysteps you will end up doing these during the course of the month.

Decluttering - you can't clean clutter. But experience has shown that fly lady is good for routines but there are other methods that work better for decluttering. Feel free to mix and match.

Emails - feel free sign up to them. Most of us don't because there can be a lot, ergo whilst you are welcome to sign up for them; we don't generally recommend it. especially as one of the babysteps is to delete them anyway

Linkies. We will be linking to the launch pad from there you can get to babysteps, missions, flight plans etc etc. Be aware that some don't update until the date that they are on (eg looking at the links before midnight on Monday will not show the information for Tuesday iyswim)

Bloody hell you lot are noisy. Can't a girl get a lie in?

Bower what happened with that other job opportunity you were talking about a while back? Is it still an option?

Ive like the new name

SC have they left yet?

Zoo my personal favourites for getting my sisters up were throwing water at them or stealing their duvets

Goodness knows if ds is back in school time routine he is a law unto himself plus he is not here to be chucked out of bed. Besides at the weekend we lie in.

I am afraid I need coffee before i do links. And maybe some toast and marmite.

MogTheSleepyCat · 06/01/2019 10:40

Morning all,

Bower - so sorry things at work are so awful, what an awful atmosphere to be in. Your DD sounds very talented.

Zoo - I luffs cherry based anything!

SC - hosting yet more guests?! How do you do it? But it sounds like a more welcome lot this time. Just noticed you have acquired another furry; is she a dachshund too?

I've - hope you're feeling better now

MogTheSleepyCat · 06/01/2019 10:43

I am also wanting to cry. My 'spare' washing machine that has been reinstalled is blowing all the electrics. Got the repair man coming back again tomorrow morning.

My lovely MIL came to the rescue and let me use her WM and TD to wash all our socks and smalls.

We're all off to the zoo today for a last family day out before normality resumes tomorrow.

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/01/2019 10:43

No sick feeling at all today, i am just eating everything and have been fantasizing about sunday dinner since 630am....

tibni · 06/01/2019 11:52

@Stilllivinginazoo jack monroe has a mushroom and spinach bolognese recipe that uses the minced mushroom mince. Got distracted by the book and about to make poor chaplain soup for lunch and cook a massive veggie lasagne to provide a few meals for the week.
Ds back from respite and he's had a fun time. Didn't get much done yesterday and currently have massive pot of coffee in naughty corner and am telling myself once I've finished this mug I will start the cooking!
Back to work tomorrow so I've had to check emails and diary appointments in case there have been any changes as I'm offsite first thing tomorrow learning a new Software delivery package.
Actually should make double soup so I can have lunch tomorrow (trying to lose weight too)
I have my eye on kitchen paperwork hotspot and am determined to get it sorted today!
Hope everyone has a good day Smile

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 06/01/2019 13:12

Hi everyone, haven’t been on the thread much but often have a little break after thread leading.

Went to soft play yesterday. Lucked out and bumped into a friend who we have not seen for ages so the kids had a fab time and we got to chat Smile.

Off to the cinema today, fingers crossed for DD2 enjoying it / behaving! Both DH and I are going so one of us can take her out if problems.

I have been watching the MK programme on Netflix. I have to say I am underwhelmed BUT it was a nice watch and I am pleasantly surprised that she seems a lot less militant now she has had kids Grin. I have also been meaning to read her book for YEARS so this might save me the trouble Grin. The first house was ridiculous though, not even that messy.

I have been doing some clothes declutteronf as I am going to do Clutterbug’s hug your home challenge which seems the most chilled out of the lot. She starts in the bedroom. Got rid of quite a bit of DD2’s outgrown stuff but she is the easiest clothes wise as it is a simple ‘does it fit anymore?’ and if it doesn’t ‘does she want to keep it in a memory box or can it go?’. Struggling with her fancy dress stuff but it all still fits so I think I’ll settle for reorganising them instead. DD1 is insisting on keeping all of hers too despite not having worn them for at least 2 years Hmm.

Like the new name Ive. Nightmare re. washer Mog Flowers. Thanks for links Hills.

Back to reality tomorrow for us too.

Slightlycoddled · 06/01/2019 14:20

Yes we are finally alone Hills! Xmas Grin

Well done re: clothes decluttering Toostressy

Oh no to ds's 5kg weight loss Zoo poor lad Sad. Great list btw!

I must get back to soup-making for healthy lunches too tibni
Good to hear your ds had fun. Good luck for the week ahead.

Oh no Mog that's a bummer about second wm, what a pita. Hope it can be sorted easily/inexpensively. Yes, another daschund (female this time) going well so far. Zoo sounds like fab idea to make the most of the last afternoon of holidays.

Slowed down a bit after lunch. Now need to go and cook and turn remnants of fridge contents/leftovers in to something edible!

beepbeep321 · 06/01/2019 18:24

Evening all

Food into fridge to defrost overnight
School work.

Waving hello to everyone as a have a stropping toddler hanging off me currently 🙈

Slightlycoddled · 06/01/2019 18:48

Waves back at Beepbeep

Feeling a bit flat tonight. Dreading the start of January
proper. Lots of medical stuff ahead for dh and myself which I am dreading. But needs must and all of that. And medical care very good here so shouldn't complain!

First decorations have come down.

Dd in foul mood as dreading school tomorrow. (She loves her school but education system here a bit brutal.)
The football has been on endlessly.
Furries (despite 2 long walks) are bored, missing open fields and causing mischief.
😞💤😞

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 06/01/2019 19:24

SC Flowers.

So we have two school reading books missing somewhere in the house Confused. Any guesses where they are please?

HillsBesideTheSea · 06/01/2019 20:52

WIth the PE kits stressy?

We have just had the great what week of a 2 week time table system is it when I go back discussion....When I suggested taking both weeks worth of books ds' response was (and I quote) "fuck that shit, I'll just take the stupid detention" Hmm

O thank god for that Sc I was considering hiring hit men for you by this point. Phew! Good luck with all the medical stuff.
