Flying Resolutions for the Fledglings

Ok. 1st of January.

It's a long running thread, but we like new people. Just be aware if we seem cliquey it is simply because some of us have known each other for many mumble mumble years.

Respect. We won't tell you what you are doing wrong if you don't tell us. hint if you tell us we are doing it wrong we will tell you you are wrong

Babysteps. If you are new start here. If you dropped off the fly wagon, start here. Basically start here.

Missions. Do these, if you start with the babysteps you will end up doing these during the course of the month.

Decluttering - you can't clean clutter. But experience has shown that fly lady is good for routines but there are other methods that work better for decluttering. Feel free to mix and match.

Emails - feel free sign up to them. Most of us don't because there can be a lot, ergo whilst you are welcome to sign up for them; we don't generally recommend it. especially as one of the babysteps is to delete them anyway

Linkies. We will be linking to the launch pad from there you can get to babysteps, missions, flight plans etc etc. Be aware that some don't update until the date that they are on (eg looking at the links before midnight on Monday will not show the information for Tuesday iyswim)

foxes four years back fridge freezer, wash machine and tumble drier all went in January...only good thing is sales were on to save us some money but it was still very very tight budgets as paid on DP credit cards
Sorry things crummy at yours.it never ceases to amaze me how quickly things escalate when everyone's tiredFlowers

I had my nap,I seriously couldn't do anything else

Dark uniform parts/pe kits in wash now,I need to put rest shop away and crack on

foxessocks · 20/01/2019 16:45

zoo so true. When everyone is tired we are all horrible to each other!! Appliances do always seem to break at the same time and at the worst possible time! Hey ho, never mind.

Have given up entirely on dinner, the dc are going to have something on toast and we'll just see what we can dig out of the freezer later!

EustaciaVye · 20/01/2019 19:19

We had our grumpy time last night :(

I am watching Marie Kondo with dd right now imagining how much crap I could get rid of...

EustaciaVye · 20/01/2019 20:58

Dd and I have sorted out her pyjamas , knickers, crop tops and socks. Amazing how motivated they can be when it is their stuff...

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 20/01/2019 22:13

Oh no foxes.

zoo, if I ever find these motivated children I will ask them to tell me their secrets in a bid to get my kids to do the same Grin. Then I will sell the secrets.

Stilllivinginazoo · 21/01/2019 04:51

Oh how enterprising stressyGrin

Hope everyone wakes up in better fettles today
Just about to get up and investigate whether huge blood moon is visible....

IVEgottheDECAF · 21/01/2019 06:07

Morning all

I dont want to go to work Sad

foxessocks · 21/01/2019 07:07

I've Flowers BrewBrew

Zoo did you see it? I forgot but then as the dc didn't wake early I don't think I would have got up anyway!

I'm feeling better today, at last! I'm just contemplating whether to get straight into running clothes and go for a run after I take the dc to school / nursery. I think I'm going to have to really since I didn't move for most of the weekend!

We have washing all over the house trying to catch up with it. And I think dh fixed the dishwasher eventually so fingers crossed it works today.

Sending positive Monday vibes to you all!

stegosauruslady · 21/01/2019 07:15

Morning!

I had one of these! He is called Egon (after the Ghostbuster) and was born on the 28th December at 10.48, weighing 6lbs 5 after a three day long induction. The last month has been filled with drama, unplanned induction, death of a close family member in a shocking fashion, in and out of hospital with the baby and I've been ill myself too! However, he is delicious and things are now getting back to normal!

So, some to dos for my day!

Laundry (seriously, how much laundry do babies make!)
Tidy my bedroom
Dinner
Dishes
Feed baby Egon a million times

Oh wow, congratulations steg, he is such a cutie Smile. So sorry to hear of the stressful time you have had as well.

foxes, I have to get dressed into exercise kit or I don’t go. That said, I am currently sitting (in my activewear Wink) in Costa asi has a gift voucher and don’t think I will go to the gym today as my feet are still playing up. So frustrating Angry.

To do:-
Get something sorted for a summer holiday. Must make a decision!
Laundry. Always with the laundry.
Try to sort out childcare vouchers as can’t log on to the website Confused.
Thanks for links Hills

Cagliostro · 21/01/2019 10:48

Delurking to say congratulations steg! He is scrumptious and Egon is a totally cool name 😍

foxessocks · 21/01/2019 12:09

Congratulations steg ! Sorry you've had a hard time of it though Sad

I went for my run! Ds had a tantrum when I left him at nursery and he's having another one now. He's really not himself. Ignoring him until he's calm enough for some lunch (which was the cause of the tantrum in the first place because he wants to eat jam and chocolate Hmm)

Hi all [SC here] just emerging briefly from the gloaming to send huge congratulations to Steg on the birth of your lovely baby boy! He is really gorgeous! 🐣

I'm so sorry for the loss of your close family member and to hear that you have had such a difficult time Flowers. Do try and take things slowly x

Good luck with tackling school/mh services Zoo
Hope you are surviving the staff room Bower
Hope knee not as painful as it was Hills
And yes - I do keep finding endless last bits of Christmas ephemera Meet not to mention a few last pine needles in unexpected places - 'tis driving me nuts! Grin

Just about keeping a lid on things here but all a bit stressful for various reasons! Hope everyone else ok! Mahoosive wing flaps to you all!

👋

Sproutingcorm · 22/01/2019 10:28

. Just on Anna Soubry webchat.

Seriously , hope I haven't said wrong thing and caused offence, as haven't rtft recently

SassitudeandSparkle · 22/01/2019 11:49

Congratulations Steg, so gorgeous!

I am battling a cold (DD generously shared hers) and trying to get sorted before DH goes away again for a couple of days. Slightly hectic week coming up, coffee sales will rocket!

Some things got left from last week when we ran out of money in the bank account Blush , or perhaps it would be more accurate to say so we didn't run out of money! I should be finding forms and ordering stuff but sitting with a hot drink, box of tissues and MN!

Flap on, fledglings!

foxessocks · 22/01/2019 12:20

sc you haven't don't worry! It's quiet on the thread at the moment I think everyone is battling through January illnesses amongst other things! It's nice to have you back even if only briefly!!

Get well soon sass

My cat is being weird (even more than usual). We have muddy footprints everywhere because she keeps coming in and out , think she has been in a fight or something Sad and she keeps standing in the bath Angry which usually means she needs to go the toilet but won't go outside. Another cat is on her territory maybe. Luckily she hasn't actually had a poo in the bath ! this time

Sproutingcorm · 22/01/2019 12:26

Thanks Foxes was getting worried there for a minute! Smile. Hope Foxcat ok!

Sass hope you and everyone else feels better soon!

Mahoosive snow here!

SassitudeandSparkle · 22/01/2019 14:15

Loving your work with the Springtime name change there!

Feeling a bit better but have not done much. Bit of laundry. Must spark into action soon!

stegosauruslady · 22/01/2019 17:16

Hello!

Not many ta daas from me at the moment...

Laundry done
Children all in the places they should be at the correct times and with the correct things (big achievement at the moment!)
Been to IKEA to buy the last bits I wanted for my lush new kitchen (that was finished the day before Christmas Eve, which also turned out to be the day before I was induced!)
Napped with the baby

Just sleet here today so I am now curled up in front of the fire with a snoozing baby and a snoozing cat! Sympathy and lemsips for everyone who has succumbed to seasonal illnesses.

To do for tomorrow

Clean bathroom
Laundry
Sort baking drawer now that I have beautiful bamboo boxes for everything
Midwife appointment
Baby massage class
