Flying Resolutions for the Fledglings

Ok. 1st of January.

It's a long running thread, but we like new people. Just be aware if we seem cliquey it is simply because some of us have known each other for many mumble mumble years.

Respect. We won't tell you what you are doing wrong if you don't tell us. hint if you tell us we are doing it wrong we will tell you you are wrong

Babysteps. If you are new start here. If you dropped off the fly wagon, start here. Basically start here.

Missions. Do these, if you start with the babysteps you will end up doing these during the course of the month.

Decluttering - you can't clean clutter. But experience has shown that fly lady is good for routines but there are other methods that work better for decluttering. Feel free to mix and match.

Emails - feel free sign up to them. Most of us don't because there can be a lot, ergo whilst you are welcome to sign up for them; we don't generally recommend it. especially as one of the babysteps is to delete them anyway

Linkies. We will be linking to the launch pad from there you can get to babysteps, missions, flight plans etc etc. Be aware that some don't update until the date that they are on (eg looking at the links before midnight on Monday will not show the information for Tuesday iyswim)

Spent a mind numbing amount of time sifting thru Xmas stuff and trying to find homes/chazza any tat and generally declutter a horribly cluttered corner of my front room!
I have a bag for chazza
2carrier bags of rubbish and a pile of stuff that's halfway thru being found permanent homes.
New games have made their way to shelves in cupboard under stairs that allocate our collection

Feeling very tired and heavy today.miserable grey wet day isn't helping!!

Stilllivinginazoo · 16/01/2019 16:02

Dropped off chazza bagso that's not an indefinite ornament in front room as lil zoo walking home with dd2
Tonight's dinner-
Pilchards, pasta and broccoli for little ones
Vegi sausages, potato wedges with garlic and thyme carrots, green bean and broccoli

SassitudeandSparkle · 16/01/2019 17:36

Evening all, welcome newbies - still not enough flying and a large laundry mountain here!

Been out today, tomorrow is looking busy with appointments too unfortunately. Making the most of the time I have to get things done, have tidied/hoovered main room yesterday, ironed and done laundry.

DD sneezing ominously at the moment, have administered echinacea in the hope of scaring off any germs. One of the appointments tomorrow is hers and she needs to make it!

Need to run dishwasher and wash non-dishwasher bits too. Iron clothes for tomorrow and try to wash items needed for next week now to get ahead (sports and dance kits, that kind of thing).

Stilllivinginazoo · 16/01/2019 19:04

sass fingers X she doesn't drop.lil zoo succumbing as now has tempfingers X it's peaking and by the morning will be down again and off to school.still got headache, sore throats worsening
I'm just hoping she keeps her lurgy to herself!!

Talking of lurgy how's little fox?
Is he managing to keep the dreaded lurgy at bay?hope so

Little ones fed watered, wash up done
Four loads wash done today-2towels,loads soaked whites and two carrier bags dark socks..wtaf!where they pulled the from I will never know.i kicked off when dd2 casually mentioned no socks left n other chimed in same.i know I checked and emptied laundry baskets so they are clearly being "placed" elsewhere

foxessocks · 16/01/2019 19:15

zoo he hasn't been himself today actually although he did seem to perk up after a long nap this afternoon so we'll see! Hope you manage to avoid it , it's crazy how many people seem to be poorly at the moment Sad

I have been reading and keeping up with you all. I've been doing bits and bobs of flying, managed to do some mould blasting in the bathroom today Grin also working hard on decluttering the Christmas chocolate by eating a LOT!

I'm just not entirely sure where the time is going at the moment...I blink and it's the bedtime routine again.

Stilllivinginazoo · 16/01/2019 19:36

I've not got back in the groove since school went back foxes I blink and they're back and I've not achieved much at all!!

We are forcast "wintery showers" overnight

SassitudeandSparkle · 16/01/2019 20:15

DD still sneezing a lot and the tissues are piling up - she may also have to power through tomorrow, although due to the timing of the appointment I could wake her up early for medicine and then dose her up before she goes back to school after her appointment!

Got the Vicks and otrivine on standby for tonight, and another dose of echinacea planned ... see you on the other side tomorrow at lunch!

Stilllivinginazoo · 16/01/2019 20:36

Fingers X it runs smoothly sass
Lil zoo been down for a drink /complain about scarlet tonsils throat and I realised no bloody soothers left to suck,so she's making do with a fox's glacier fruit sweet!!
I've sent her back up but I bet she's back within the hour
I have a stash of chocolate and fudge hot X buns to snaffle, well actually they're ds' but as today's date be rude not to share them, and dd2 and I are very keen to avoid good wasteGrin ignores idea might have space for a couple in the freezer in favour being a greedy witch

Bowerbird5 · 16/01/2019 23:01

Well today didn’t go as planned at all.
Never mind I have had feet done and feel much better. Toenail was startin* to be painful. Had a bit of a browse around Laura ghastlier my friends nick name because she didn’t like most of the clothes but did
Like some of the other things. There is mark down on the mark down so I may well be back. I have bought something for some who gave me a large present than expected. She goes away for Christmas and New Year so we exchanged before and after. So just up graded hers with room diffusers. Three different sorts for £8. I also bought a cake slice pear and partridge for £6 and will pop that away for next Crimbo.
Bought a paint sample which is what I went for. Coughing like mad. Bought shell for hen and scratch mat for cat and came home. I was supposed to go for school but foot care app. Changed and as I was going in realised secretaries would have gone and I don’t have a fob to get in. Damn.
Picked DH up from station. Slightly worse for wear. £19 extra for 1st class and sandwiches, coffee and as much free drink as you can down apparently. Hmm! Put him in did s room😁he is not keeping me awake all bloody night snoring.
Some BRC sorted. Vacuumed until it ran out. Hmm not that impressed. Very good on tiled floor but not so great on carpet. Got choked with cat hair twice. Might pay extra for dyson.
Dishes and kitchen done. Bathroomed cleaned. Not bad.

Bowerbird5 · 16/01/2019 23:02

There are many other things to do but if I get that done with lil zoo and D's underfoot I be "happy" with that!!

SassitudeandSparkle · 17/01/2019 12:20

Well that was a morning. Got rather cold sitting the car for half an hour waiting for DD at school (dropped her in for a bit then took her to an appointment). The traffic was terrible and I got her to ring ahead because I thought we would be late, but everyone had been affected and we had to wait for a bit when we got there - fine though, just got back to school a little later than planned although that fitted in well with the calpol schedule!

Had already promised to give a neighbour a lift somewhere we both needed to go, so did that and had a lovely chat at the same time. Had a late breakfast and now thinking about lunch! Have done one load of laundry and sent one email today, that's about it. Will hang up laundry and do some more work.

Stilllivinginazoo · 17/01/2019 12:37

MeetOnTheledge · 17/01/2019 18:43

I'm here, just been a busy week with work and stuff. Both our cars have been playing up so a lot of to and fro-ing to garages and consulting bus timetables for tomorrow.

Flying wise, I joined Foxes in mould blasting the bathroom tiles ealrier in the week, they weren't that bad, just little black specks but look so much better now (bleach spray and elbow grease).

Does anyone else keep finding bits of Christmas decorations etc for weeks afterwards? I was determined to get everything put away in one go this year as normally I find things for weeks and they all accumulate on the shelves at the top of the stairs till a loft visit. Well, I scoured the house on 12th Night, looked everywhere, thought I'd got them all. There are now 18 Christmas bits sat on the upstairs shelves again, gah!

foxessocks · 17/01/2019 18:55

zoo definitely not scared off here!! Just not doing very well with any lists at the moment and generally a bit frazzled! (Aren't we all?!)

Meet I can totally relate , I have yet another pile of Xmas stuff to go up in the loft Confused

My flying win today is that I booked my eye test as soon as I received the reminder today rather than waiting and adding it to a to do list! I'm learning!

My flying low today was when I was just resting my eyes briefly when I hear the dc fighting so went to investigate and they'd found GLITTER. It is everywhere, I didn't even know we had the stuff!!

Oh and also day 6 of no washing machine and I'm eyeing the two washing piles nervously. Guess that will be my weekend then!

So as you can see it's all very glamourous here as usual HmmGrin

Stilllivinginazoo · 17/01/2019 19:08

Very rock and roll foxesGrin

Meet we don't haveuch so I usually round it up fairly quickly.tjst said my little cats have been clearly playing with and hoarding small baubles.ive found 4 this week in various locations around the house!!

I AM FURIOUS..
school have emailed o.t asking if she's signing him off.she emailed back if that's a supporting letter I can.asked about homework for authorised absence they still adamant learning in school but MIGHT give h a "little online" FFS HES BEEN UNEDUCATED SINCE SEPTEMBER
