Ok. 1st of January.

It's a long running thread, but we like new people. Just be aware if we seem cliquey it is simply because some of us have known each other for many mumble mumble years.

Respect. We won't tell you what you are doing wrong if you don't tell us. hint if you tell us we are doing it wrong we will tell you you are wrong

Babysteps. If you are new start here. If you dropped off the fly wagon, start here. Basically start here.

Missions. Do these, if you start with the babysteps you will end up doing these during the course of the month.

Decluttering - you can't clean clutter. But experience has shown that fly lady is good for routines but there are other methods that work better for decluttering. Feel free to mix and match.

Emails - feel free sign up to them. Most of us don't because there can be a lot, ergo whilst you are welcome to sign up for them; we don't generally recommend it. especially as one of the babysteps is to delete them anyway

Linkies. We will be linking to the launch pad from there you can get to babysteps, missions, flight plans etc etc. Be aware that some don't update until the date that they are on (eg looking at the links before midnight on Monday will not show the information for Tuesday iyswim)

Stilllivinginazoo · 09/01/2019 11:41

Meanwhile I feel an utter failure as my sons being tortured to comply to bastarding rules of the law(attendance etc)

HillsBesideTheSea · 09/01/2019 11:47
  1. you are not a failure
  2. It is the law BUT
  3. even if it wasn't allowing him to withdraw completely it is NOT going to improve the situation either.
  4. YOU are not a failure. The SYSTEM is failing your son!!!!!
  5. Repeat as necessary.

Hi everyone
I had a lie in today, as dh took kids to school then I proceeded to spend half of my day off writing a work presentation :/
It means my housework isn't done. Dishwasher is on though, as is washing machine. My ironing lady is coming to collect a basket soon - She charges a tenner for a basket of shirts and I happily go without other stuff to keep her :)
Dd anxiety is still exhausting. Finding it hard to be positive myself.

beepbeep321 · 09/01/2019 17:42

Hi everyone...
I've been surviving mainly this week!
House is a tip! Piles of washing everywhere....joys of being back at work and ds deciding to vomit everywhere!
Nearly the weekend and I'll try and catch up then!

foxessocks · 09/01/2019 18:57

Hope everyone having a peaceful evening. Dd is having a major screaming tantrum here think she is a tad tired! Dh is heroically battling with her while I drink wine and supervise an unusually calm ds!

Have sorted new side table I think...I keep rearranging things!

Hills ouch hope you’re ok.

Zoo you must be feeling despair. Sorry things are so tough. I wonder what triggered DS’s anxiety. It seems quite extreme. I hope you get some more help. Yes, worth checking hearing. DD has very acute at some high pitches. She was tested at two because she could hear airforce planes about 2 minutes before the rest of us and used to spread eagle in fear and wet herself. We are on flight path for low flying unfortunately. Perhaps he is similar and experiencing anxiety from acute noises.🥃🍰🍫take your pick.

🤮beep beep. Sorry to hear that.

I had lie in/sleep in as couldn’t sleep last night. Was up till 1am.
Just about to get moving when BF arrived. Discussed her job, my job and her previous one. She said she felt like me before handing her notice in and like me thought her mental health more important...ironic as she was a psych. Nurse.

I think I am going to do it soon. It is such a sad way to end a career. However I have been procrastinating on other sites and although not as well paid up here there are Nanny jobs available nearby. Lots of part time work so I could change job but pay cut would be £3:50 an hour less. If I was near London I could probably earn a lot more than I do now.
When DH comes home I think we should take a long hard look at retirement figures. I have asked for a forecast to leave at Easter. Not sure if I can stick out until end of year.😢

Bowerbird5 · 09/01/2019 19:02

I like the owl. And the wine.

Think I might go and pour a glass. Might make me sleep. I have agreed to go in tomorrow. I think in hindsight ( and coughing) I should have waited.

foxessocks · 09/01/2019 19:18

Ta da
School run X 2
Dishwasher on X 2
Washing on , hung up, folded ,put away
Rubbish out
Went to supermarket
Sorted side table
Got new basket for some of ds toys and organised his room a bit better
Decluttered in kitchen for 15 minutes
Cleaned front of oven and hob
Took bottles and plastic to recycling
Attempted to book dd birthday party but the venue was having a system update and couldn't do it, said they'd call back but didn't Angry
Paid tax bill
Ordered couple more bits for dd birthday
Started sorting photos to order prints of for photo album
Government bathroom quick wipe over and cleaned toilet
Took loads of toys back upstairs
Cooked dinner - roast beef, Yorkshire pudding (that went very wrong but ds declared them to be 'yummy biscuits' Hmm!), mashed swede, carrots, cabbage and roast potatoes
Cleaned kitchen after dinner
Split leftover beef into two portions ready to freeze

I would highly recommend Morrisons wonky veg boxes by the way, I ordered one online and you get loads of British seasonal veg for £3.50 (it isn't actually wonky at all really!) only one bit of plastic in sight too. Sorry if I'm preaching to the converted but I don't usually shop at Morrisons!

foxessocks · 09/01/2019 19:24

bower sorry about your job issues that really is a hard thing to decide Sad

Stilllivinginazoo · 09/01/2019 19:33

I've seen their boxes foxes and they are pretty good value.i saw on local news that co op are trialling a 10p bin of best before past fruit, veg and dry goods like pasta ...it's 10p per item and so far trials are not affecting store profits so high chance it could get rolled out to all stores!

Not best day ever here
DS had dreadful time at school.theyve admitted he's distressed all the time and not really doing anything productive.ivd rang CAHMS and they're chasing OT in hope can start work sooner than 24th and advise meantime...psych nurse spoke to said in meantime we have to weigh up if it's work the effect on his emotional and mental wellbeing (member of staff did suggest we ask if he could be signed off by health professional, but bet she won't admit that in front other staff members if I relied onit)
I discussed it at length with do and we have decided keep him off til o.t is on board.could be a day or two,or week or so.school accept hes a submissive there worn down and click watching to when he can get away.its not good for him and he's like a sad little shadow most of the time now.it breaks me seeing him like that
We agreed home on proviso he attempts supermarkets with us(has been avoiding as big triggers panic attacks and he can't cope that and school) and a routine/structure of get up,walks etc so he isn't just sat on his bum all day doing whatever...
I just hope it's the right thing
I asked how he felt about it n tears came in massive rivers fearful he will wreck future if gives "wrong" answer, worried we will get in trouble unauthorized attendance etc.hes got point totally overwhelmed we can't go on like this

Stilllivinginazoo · 09/01/2019 19:34

Ps bower that's very hard lovely.i couldn't stand being in that environment,it's not good for you and you deserve SO much better.i feel really angry on your behalfFlowers

foxessocks · 09/01/2019 19:44

Oh zoo that sounds horrible your poor ds (and you). I don't have any useful advice whatsoever but it really sounds like you're doing your absolute best for him and that's all you can do. I hope he gets some help with his anxiety soon.

Cagliostro · 09/01/2019 20:07

Oh zoo :( feel free to PM about work etc if you want x

Nice day here but I’ve achieved bugger all except have a shower. And watch anime with DSD.

EustaciaVye · 09/01/2019 21:04

Some really difficult issues going on :(
We are coping with dd anxiety and it is hell at times so you have my sympathy. DH is taking her to school again tomorrow as Thursday is the worst day and I can't cope so I am running away to work instead. Very lucky he will do that tbh but the impact on me isn't great otherwise...

House is still a mess. I haven't quite picked up the old flylady routines as I haven't shaken this bug since new year.

Slightlycoddled · 09/01/2019 21:19

Eustacia Zoo Bower Mog and others. So sorry so many of you are going through such really difficult and stressful times Flowers. Please try and look after yourselves (if at all humanly possible with so much else going on).

. Hope your ds is ok.

Amazing list Foxes and love the owl!

SassitudeandSparkle · 09/01/2019 21:32

Big hugs to zoo and Bower, you both sound like you need it - wish there was more I could do.

It is a bit strange being solo in the house for most of the day tbh. I am making inroads on the laundry mountain though and have even done small amount of ironing

Struggling a bit with sleep as well at the moment, but I get the odd good night in here and there which really helps.

Slightlycoddled · 09/01/2019 21:33

Sorry Beepbeep emboldening failure there. Hope your ds ok tonight.

Slightlycoddled · 09/01/2019 21:54

Waves to Sass! Is it awful to admit that I am absolutely loving having a few solitary hours to myself this week? unsociable grump emoticon (Although dh home for lunch most days and "puppy" nearly as demanding as a toddler!)
