If you are strugging with C.H.A.O.S. (can't have anyone over syndrome) and S.T.U.F.F. (something that undermines family fun) then this is the thread where we (loosely) follow the step-by-step Flylady housekeeping system (in our own, unique, relaxed style) with lots of chat, support and wine and cake along the way.

This is where, from the first of the month (seriously, HOW is it June already?!), we follow – loosely – the rules of FlyLady [see website here ]. (Pls ignore Flylady's barftastic language, and we suggest NOT signing up to her emails as there are rather a lot of them. All the info you need will be posted here on a daily basis.)

Helpful info on getting started here.

We adopt a three-pronged approach:

-start or repeat baby steps

  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone or area (yes, just 15 mins focused work a day makes a difference!)

and/or

  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering.

[And if you are really enthusiastic and have finished decluttering - you can go on to detailed deep cleaning in each zone.]

The launch pad is the place from which you can reach most other useful areas of the site: here.

NB
This is a very long-running thread so we may appear cliquey but we really aren't! All newcomers, long-termers, lurkers and intermittent returnees not only welcome to join in but positively encouraged to do so!

Another NB
Start where you are at!. There is no need to worry about being perfect – perfectionism = paralysis! There is no such thing as ‘falling behind’ with FlyLady, if you miss anything, just move on and continue as normal the next day.

Any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Happy Flying one and all!

Have you been to the GP with it Still?

Ok, so here we have 1 idiot setting off fireworks for the second night running. 1 dd who has the flu. A very relieved ds who has finished exams and has had a personality transplant overnight and the other 3 kids seem to be ok for now.

I've managed
3 loads of washing, drying and putting away today.

Hoovered house,
S&S,
made bed
meal planned for week
cried at overdrawn bank balance

and

bought paint to start re-decorating the kitchen tomorrow.

Curling up with your snuggly blanket and thinking of nothing could help with anxiety Zoo. Or watch something funny, like Father Ted or something to distract you. Hope it settles down soon!

Giggage · 17/06/2018 19:41

Zoo, what about trying meditation with the snuggly blanket? If you find a guided one on a free app that lasts about 30 minutes, it will give you something else to focus on.

It helps with my anxiety. It may help with yours.

Baby step no. 18 for Mon 18th is here. The Flylady Eleven Commandments!

We are in Zone 4 this week: [[http://www.flylady.net/d/zones/zone-4/
The Master Bedroom, Bath, Closet (June 17-23)]]. Spend 15 mins a day decluttering this area (and/or do a mission!).

If you are at the stage where you have finished decluttering Zone 4, here is the detailed cleaning list for the boudoir etc.

Monday's mission is: here. Spend some time throwing out magazines, junk mail, old cosmetics - any clutter you no longer need - in Zone 4.

Monday's daily focus is (unfortunately) the home bleugh. A minimal 10 mins spent on each of 7 essential tasks.

The habit for June is: keeping hydrated by drinking lots of water.

A summary of the above (which should update itself daily) can be found in the flight plan here.

Have a productive start to the week everyone!

Zoo so glad to hear you have been checked out thoroughly and are back at home. Hope you can rest up a bit now Flowers

Check this out: www.bodylogicmd.com/content/34-symptoms-of-menopause-and-treatment-options.

I have an unexplained heart arrythmia (for which I take beta blockers). Had all the tests and they couldn't pin down a specific cause. This happened a while back. However, palpitations are one of the 34 recognized symptoms of menopause, inc the fatigue, muscle aching, memory loss and feeling low/not on form you are experiencing. Just because the causes are hormonal, doesn't mean it isn't deeply unpleasant. (Believe me, I feel at about 50% capability most days!). I am obviously not an hcp, but suggest one course of action could be to go to a good gp who is up to date with menopausal matters. Good luck Flowers

Scoopofchaff · 18/06/2018 08:09

BTW, I should stress that I am not entirely sure that arrythmia is the same as palpitations but your doc will clarify!!!

Climbing back into Flylady again. Not managing thorough zone cleaning but the morning and evening routines are there.

Nearly at Perimenopause. Must get weight under control before that kicks off.

Only just been woken up by ds. need to leave the house in 2 mins. literally Hmm
