If you are strugging with C.H.A.O.S. (can't have anyone over syndrome) and S.T.U.F.F. (something that undermines family fun) then this is the thread where we (loosely) follow the step-by-step Flylady housekeeping system (in our own, unique, relaxed style) with lots of chat, support and wine and cake along the way.

This is where, from the first of the month (seriously, HOW is it June already?!), we follow – loosely – the rules of FlyLady [see website here ]. (Pls ignore Flylady's barftastic language, and we suggest NOT signing up to her emails as there are rather a lot of them. All the info you need will be posted here on a daily basis.)

Helpful info on getting started here.

We adopt a three-pronged approach:

-start or repeat baby steps

  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone or area (yes, just 15 mins focused work a day makes a difference!)

and/or

  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering.

[And if you are really enthusiastic and have finished decluttering - you can go on to detailed deep cleaning in each zone.]

The launch pad is the place from which you can reach most other useful areas of the site: here.

NB
This is a very long-running thread so we may appear cliquey but we really aren't! All newcomers, long-termers, lurkers and intermittent returnees not only welcome to join in but positively encouraged to do so!

Another NB
Start where you are at!. There is no need to worry about being perfect – perfectionism = paralysis! There is no such thing as ‘falling behind’ with FlyLady, if you miss anything, just move on and continue as normal the next day.

Any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Happy Flying one and all!

Ugh Sunday is usually Nofunday but not sure if we are doing anything particular for Father’s Day. We got him a Pokemon Go watch thing 😳 😂

ta da
✅didn’t get a takeaway - in fact didn’t spend anything, so probably better that I couldn’t be arsed to leave the house
✅tidied as I went a little bit
✅finally found and charged my phone
✅one load of towels washed and dried

Feel very unmotivated still, was telling DH it’s like Groundhog Day ATM, just finding it hard to be back in the baby stage I think! It is a lot easier with a portable newborn, this is a tricker phase by far as she is so into everything and needs entertaining and supervision! It’s lovely, she is amazing 😍 but bloody hell I am exhausted. I think really I do need to start taking her out for her own sake, as really there is no space for her to crawl and cruise around safely. Soft play might become my friend again I’m not one for mollycoddling little ones but it’s really ridiculously cluttered ATM and with two clumsy autistic kids with zero attention span, stuff gets dropped all the time.

Anyone want to come and move house for me?

That’s totally crap about the tutor sc

Thinking of you ive and hoping that tomorrow isn’t too painful. I have a feeling how the day goes (or indeed how today has gone as you haven’t posted this evening) will tell you what to do next. Thanks

HillsBesideTheSea · 16/06/2018 23:23

SC Grin
Zoo it was blowing a hooley up there and rather creepy as a result so not as restful and calm as it could have been, but far more so than being annoying by a noise that is inescapable.

Scoopofchaff · 16/06/2018 23:31

Hills now I have the image in my mind of Wuthering Heights with knitting needles! Grin

Cag Livewire stage with Cagletini sounds tough going albeit delightful! You can only do what you can do though. And well done for keeping going with the lists.

Yes, hope you are ok I've Flowers

Happy father's day to my dh who is currently cleaning sick off the landing with the wet Vax hoover thanks to dd...poor little thing. We are hoping a case of too many marshmallows at the bbq we went to rather that anything more serious. I really really don't fancy a household full of puking...

Just been in to check ds and he seems fine so far.

Joys of parenting I suppose!

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 17/06/2018 04:46

Ds3 up at 315am. Yay. Hmm

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 17/06/2018 04:57

Fingers crossed for no more sick foxes 🤞

Ty all for sympathy and offers of flame throwing. Did try to speak to UP (useless partner) yesterday but he clearly was not interested in conversation and believes he does no wrong. He didnt come to bed til really late, probably didnt want to risk me attempting to talk to him again Hmm

cag moving babies / toddlers are a MILLION times harder than little babies! Ds3 is a handful, he climbs on everything and in everything, he screams NOOOOO at everything even if he doesnt mean no. Ive taken him to three school events recently and he has kicked up a stink at every one of them! He keeps throwing food at the walls and spits drinks all over himself which he thinks is hillarious.

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 17/06/2018 04:59

sc very poor of the tutor! Shock

HonkyWonkWoman · 17/06/2018 05:31

Morning earlybirds.......
lays out mugs of tea for everyone BrewBrewBrewBrewBrewBrewBrewBrewBrewBrewBrewBrew
I've Ds3 sounds like a typical toddler boy with his climbing and No's and throwing food and spitting drinks. (What is it with the spitting drinks that's so hilarious to them)? Cute I bet, though!

beepbeep321 · 17/06/2018 06:23

Good morning. I feel you pain with the toddler. Mine has recently come through a period of 3am waking and now I get a lie In til 5.15!HmmHmmHmm
Today's plans
2 x washing loads - aim to wash dry and put away!
As kids are playing try to clear surfaces in our living area.
Bake a cake
And try to have clothes and pack ups ready for tommorow.

Stilllivinginazoo · 17/06/2018 07:19

Feel like crap
I've Brewhas he come earlier to bed chances are he would've been smothered so not a bad decision if he wanted to continue living.sending nerves of steel to get you thru today
Hills a windy hill sounds better than lots noise!
SC arrrgh at tutor.not the boudoir
Foxes hope everyone's ok

Bowerbird5 · 17/06/2018 07:36

Morning. Almost afternoon to some of you😣

Went out all day yesterday and had a thoroughly good time despite the weather. Had sausage s'wiches for breakfast , tea. Elevenses at 12:30 were hot doughnuts with sugar and cinnamon and lovely coffee and had my lunch/tea at 5pm and that was a med rare steak roll and a rhubarb gin and ginger ale.
Made two purchases which I was a bit 😵 At the time but love and think I did do the. Right thing buying them. Wooden trough for veg garden as I am running out of room. A beautiful lamp I bought from a friend of mine that looks even better lit in my house. Will need to tidy boudoir because I think I am going to put it in there and have subdue lighting at night.it was more expensive than I wanted but is truly beautiful.think if I save money eating I could justify such purchases! Yesterday's food and drink was more than the last week but it is a once a year event. Was out from 8am -6 PM so no flying except to sweep kitchen floor then DH phoned in middle of it, was aiming to wash it. Folded clothes and sorted half to ironing mountain.need to iron today.
Going to church, then somewhere to buy something for lunch /dinner. Thinking roast so I won't need to cook for three days.

Feel the pain losing things. Lost rings and at present have lost phone for last three weeks. Think I will need to purchase another.
Have promised self I will be up at 7:30. Tired.

Welcome beep beep sounds like you will fit in nicely. Idon't have any kids at home but still have lots of their stuff and lots of my own crap which needs decluttered. I was keeping (sentimental) some for grandchildren but decided I don't think that is going to happen.Very slowly getting through it. I get tired ( physically) from supporting other people's children so can relate to tears and tantrums and I do remember mine with early starts etc.
Sorry to hear people not well. Re dizziness might be good idea to get BP checked as that was part of my problem. Ended up with ambulance one night and in hospital for night.
Cags we had a very old fashioned and very large play pen which solved that problem for short periods like when cooking. Wait for the climbing up and jumping off phase!

foxessocks · 17/06/2018 08:21

Dd was sick a few more times, stopped getting up at 4 then ds woke up at about 4.30 (not being sick thankfully just crying) , needless to say we are exhausted! Managed to get up and help dd do dh breakfast in bed though. She seems absolutely fine this morning, running about and chatting away. Pretty sure she just ate too many marshmallows. She admitted she carried on eating them after we told her to stop Hmm they were tucked away and we thought she was playing with the other children there but turns out the game they were playing was "don't let the grown ups see us eating all the marshmallows" . Oh well I guess she has learned her lesson - says she never wants to eat one again!

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 17/06/2018 08:24

Oh no foxes! Brew Hopefully was just the marshmellows and it is done with now!

stupid missed heartbeats are back.i assumed be a one off.....

HonkyWonkWoman · 17/06/2018 17:10

That's good I reminded you Zoo
How are the missed heartbeats now? Have you maybe, been overdoing things recently, as it's sometimes a sign of stress? See if doing a deep breath, holding it, then letting it out slowly a couple of times helps.
Hope you ok!

Stilllivinginazoo · 17/06/2018 17:46

Still missing honky.....

I have anxiety but don't feel stressed unless family scaring me should ring 111/death imminent I feel odd in a this isn't my normal feeling body way,no pain.just bit pressure like need burp then belch and pressure very slightly relieved then rebuilds, burp and repeat.weird((sorry that tmi people))if I ring 111 and end up with an ambulance it will just trigger a panic attack which will make it worse
If was anyone else be on phone like that
