Or try to anyway!

All welcome! I am struggling to stay awake so I’ll do the proper thread stuff tomorrow, but if you’d like some encouragement and chat while you get your house sorted then this is the place for you. We follow flylady in a delightfully lax sort of fashion.

Special thanks to zoo for the title idea 💐 😘

toostressy I really like the thinking like a tidy person idea! I'm going to give that a try today. Will report back later!

Morning all

I feel no better today really and still haven’t decided whether to teach today, I think I will have to though. I seriously need to sort myself out on this issue.

Why aren’t there more hours in the day?

You sound a bit burned out cag Flowers. Hoping today improves for you.

Cagliostro · 15/05/2018 08:50

Well I have said ok to teaching today. But also have asked about potentially changing lesson times as Cagletini is getting so clingy and I don’t think the Caglets watching her (which we only did once anyway) is going to work anymore. :(

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 15/05/2018 08:51

Thank you lisette burnout is exactly it I think x

Lisette40 · 15/05/2018 08:53

You have to be very kind to yourself then cag. Try not to berate yourself for not feeling like teaching. Eventually equalibrium will happen.

Lisette40 · 15/05/2018 08:56

House tidy but not clean, iykwim. Ironing present but not overwhelming. Shiny sink but not doing the dressed to lace up shoes thing. I'm dressed to socks. Off to work til 2 then doing the plan and play thing for Tuesday.

HillsBesideTheSea · 15/05/2018 09:05

I have a long day at work and I don't want to.
Finally slept a good solid 8hrs and my poor body is nnoooooooooo no wake up we needs more.
I fear if there were more hours in the day I still wouldn't sleep! Hmm

ds is still being an absolute pita about computer stuff. Angry which actually makes being out late appealing though it is work meetings so meh

Also he has trashed his school shoes again so going to have to drag him out shoe shopping, which is going to be like pulling teeth. seriously, we had a 3 hrs argument about him needing new socks because his old ones fitted fine -until he got new ones and started wearing them and they were comfy well like doh that's what happens when you stop trying to squeeze feet into too small socks!

Hi everyone.

foxes, re. the lost toy. I presume you have done this but have you looked in bags? My DDs love to pack things away in bags or boxes and then forget about them.

Cagliostro · 15/05/2018 12:58

Yes we always find things tucked away in random bags. And boxes but that’s because I make frequent BRCs.

Teaching was fine but thankfully we have arranged to switch days, so DH will be here. Which makes me worry less about baby getting upset (although she was fine today).

Mostly we’ve done Japanese this morning and I’ve finally started making the hiragana cards which I’d kept procrastinating over even though I enjoyed it and knew I would. DS is now desperate to do some maths in Korean (they have a bit of vocab to learn for a tae kwon do grading). Good thing is I posted about it on FB and it turns out a new HE friend is also starting Japanese so I’m hoping we can team up. The Caglets really need to do some learning with other kids now that DD has moved on from all the bullying issues.

DS has been FUCKING HARD WORK all day though and I’m really struggling to cope with him being so hyper and downright irritating. Hyper stimmy bouncy loud boy plus my own oversensitivity to noise and need for personal space... well it’s not a happy combination.

foxessocks · 15/05/2018 13:05

I think I've checked the obvious bags toostressy but we have so many bags! You're right dd is always packing to "go on holiday" . Imagine her excitement when I told her she really needed to pack a bag today for Grandma's house!

I have been working today so not much flying done so far but hoping to squeeze a bit in.

Ta da
Took bottles and cans to recycling place
Put beef in slow cooker for later (forgot about the slow cooker so now I don't have to go to the supermarket!)
Dishwasher emptied and loaded
Washing out

To do
Finish daily routine
Food shop online
Meal plan for next week
Whatever today's mission is
15 minutes decluttering
Check calendar

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 15/05/2018 14:10

YY mine have both already packed for our holiday in August. Totally unsuitable stuff of course Grin. How annoying then, it seems as if you’ve looked everywhere.

Well done for getting through the tutoring Cag.

Ta da:-
Cupboard of doom is tidy!!!!!! It is still a bit shot as the storage is not ideal but that’s life and it is loads better. Have also declutterer a few stationary bits.
Dealt with a query about my childcare vouchers
Sent a load of emails about joining this freelance work thing - soooooo time consuming and I fear for little reward. Need to have a rethink.

To do:-
Opticians to get the first of two new pairs of glasses (had current ones for 5 years so very due a change)
School pick up
Charity shop if time
Must go!

Cagliostro · 15/05/2018 14:23

Oh motivation where art thou?

Caglets are currently drawing and labelling the lily before we cut the carpel open. But I’m secretly wishing DS would say he doesn’t feel well enough for Tap 😳 he’s coughing but feels fine.

OP posts:
HillsBesideTheSea · 15/05/2018 17:21

But tap might reduce some of the hyper stimmy type behaviour Cag as much as it is a pain in the butt for you.

ta da
work
Handover 1 role at work Grin

Cagliostro · 15/05/2018 22:44

True hills the tapping gives him really good sensory feedback! As does trampolining, was talking with the OT at that event the other day about how good those activities are for him (he is undersensitive on both vestibular and proprioceptive I think). Only problem is the trampolining teacher would be perfect for giving evidence to get him further assessed as she is fairly knowledgable about ASD etc but even she can’t see what we see pretty much everywhere else as he can do so well at bouncing 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Also though seeing him tap dance is just unbearably cute 😍

That said we did have Words about his behaviour today, rude, not listening etc 😡 we are booked on a trip on Friday and he has been told he won’t be going (DH is off but not booked on the trip as we didn’t know his schedule, so he could stay with him) if things don’t improve.

Anyway. Aside from that it was a crazy afternoon. Totally messed up and grabbed the wrong stuff on the way to tap as we nearly missed the bus, didn’t have a hat for the baby, or the outer wrap for my sling, or my phone. So fucking disorganised FFS.

OP posts:
HillsBesideTheSea · 15/05/2018 22:59

we are going on a holiday in 10 days. I have not booked it yet. Yep disorganised!
I think I know where we are going know so will run the plans past ds tomo, check details with a day tour we want to take and then get booked before I go to work tomo afternoon. At least that is the plan. Hmm

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 16/05/2018 06:09

How are you?

foxessocks · 16/05/2018 07:14

Poor you ivegot BrewBrew

Well I managed to get my food shop and meal plan done once the dc were asleep last night but the rest of the day was so busy didn't get much more than that done. Today is a bit quieter dd has a half day at nursery and I need to pop to the supermarket.

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 16/05/2018 07:37
