Hello everyone,
Welcome to the Flylady thread for April, where we follow (sort of) the Flylady system with baby steps, missions, daily focuses (foci?!) and decluttering. But more than that, we are a supportive bunch where we share the trials and tribulations of everyday life. We post our to do and ta da lists and chat a whole lot.
Newbies, lurkers and returners always welcome!
Back tonight with links for tomorrow!

😒 oh dear afresh aim for 9:30 ,10 am?

Ta da
Wash on
Bathroom - basin, toilet cleaned. Shower next. Then dust and floor.
Fed hot mash to 🐔 and let out.
Cup of tea.

Back to bed.
Cosy and fed up.
Need to get up and use up that -anger- energy.
Bet DP has gone walking for the day. Difficult to get to appointment it means a forty minute walk, a bus, a train, 35 minute walk. 3:30 hrs altogether. Would be 1hr 20 minutes by car. Think I will need to cancel. Been waiting for ages. Will try to contact DS2 and see if his day off he might take me. We could go earlier and I could buy him lunch. Or later and buy him dinner from award winning pub. He might agree. Food-Definitely a way to that boy's heart.

Bowerbird5 · 05/04/2018 09:18

Ooh I had forgotten about that thanks. I'll have a think. If DP ever comes back with the car!

FoolandFitz · 05/04/2018 09:28

Aargh...my eyes, my eyes, I'm blinded, what is that giant yellow orb in the sky? Yup, miracle of miracles, the sun is actually out. Hallelujah!

Bowerbird5 · 05/04/2018 09:39

White stuff on the ground though. Very heavy frost here. Sunny here, lovely bright day which is why I suspect the SB has gone walking.

Bowerbird5 · 05/04/2018 09:41

Hills probably not.
It looks great but I need to reduce my stash not add to it.

HillsBesideTheSea · 05/04/2018 10:14

That is how I am feeling atm. I would like to at some point but perhaps not this week.

CotswoldStrife · 05/04/2018 13:20

Gorgeous sunny day here too, no frost or white stuff of any kind if you don't include the tissue shreds all over the first load of laundry today so DD was planning to do an outdoor Easter trail this afternoon. I say 'was planning' because as I type, she is still on the sofa in her pyjamas. Ah well.

Bower do you have a landline you can use? Perhaps it's because you live safely rurally but I'd never leave my bag in the car! Hope you make your appointment!

Laundry covered in bits of tissue is hanging outside to make the best of the weather. I've had soup for lunch and done some light tidying/washing up. Must motivate self, pass the pointy stick!

foxessocks · 05/04/2018 13:20

Lovely bit of sunshine at the park this morning!

Ta das
Sorted birthday present and card and gave to recipient!
Got bits from shop
Started daily routine
Sorted lunch for dc - chicken legs and salad and fruit

To do
Book lunch
Finish daily routine
Swish and swipe downstairs loo
15 minutes decluttering anywhere
Clean front windows

Just heated myself up some leftover soup. Ds in his bed but not asleep. DD busy watching Peter rabbit on cbeebies.

Hope you got out of the house afresh!

Bowerbird5 · 05/04/2018 13:55

He turned up about 11am. Pre arrangement with Son2. However lack of communication means I have had to cancel my appointment but can re arrange for a week on Friday. I hate cancelling appointments.

Cotswold
I can but don't usually. I had brought shopping in then it started to snow so I thought I would wait to retrieve bags and bits.I remembered when eating dinner but forgot after finishing. Memory! Purse was inside as it was in my coat pocket. It turned out phone wasn't in there hmm. Really need to write number in journal so I can ring myself. Will check car pockets.DD would be rolling her eyes.

Bowerbird5 · 05/04/2018 14:40

Ta Das
Washing done and some already dried.
Ironing done
Vacuumed downstairs and the stairs.
Shiny sink.
Fireplace done.
Sorted stuff.

Going to venture out to get Polti and wash floor. DH found garden shears so going to chop, chop, chop and gather up weeds.

Medical app. Coming in thick and fast today. One hospital, one nurse for tests.
Hope you got out somewhere Afresh

Hope you are feeling a bit better Hills

I had racing pulse again. Wish I had thought to tell nurse when she rang. She is lovely, great sense of humour and never tells me to lose weight because she is usually heavier than me 😁 it has settled down and might be because I forgot my capsule last night. I remember thinking about it and handbag and was going to get up but must have dropped off again. I felt really anxious before which is a side affect plus I was worrying about app. Now I have cancelled it I feel better but bit miffed as it is such a lovely day. DH isn't good at communicating and that makes me feel anxious as I don't know what he is doing sometimes like this morning. he makes arrangements but doesn't tell me and doesn't check that I might have some so I end up cancelling, apologising because of him.

FoolandFitz · 05/04/2018 14:49

The sunshine has energised us all.

As a family, our ta-das include:

Clearing the garage and three trips to the recycling centre
2 loads washing hung out to dry
Paying bills online
YNAB all up to date
De-cluttering papers and toys

All the papers were DS’s artwork that we went through together using the Kondo method. He is a hoarder and generally hates to let go of things but hewas pretty good at saying which artwork sparked joy and which he was a bit meh about. He kept only a manageable third. We also went through a box of his non Lego toys (he doesn’t have a lot of non Lego toy tbf) and got rid of more than I expected and he said that the children in my school would get more joy out of them than him now. He thanked the artwork and the toys. Bless him. I am actually very proud of him. Smile

To do:
Go for a walk to the park and play chasing games.

FoolandFitz · 05/04/2018 14:53

Aw Bower that’s really thoughtless of your husband especially as he knows you feel anxious. I am all angry 😡 on your behalf. Take it easy won’t you?

Afreshcuppateaplease · 05/04/2018 15:10

I am home Brew

Decent day out. No meltdowns. Low cost. Everyone fed and watered and tired.

Ds3 suffering less with teeth now snoozing on sofa

foxessocks · 05/04/2018 15:44

afresh sounds like a good day!

Fool what a list well done!

Loving the nicer weather. Bit annoyed I pre-booked an indoor activity for the dc tomorrow! But dh pointed out I could take them out for lunch nearby beforehand to a place with a garden.

Ta da
Daily routine
Dh building swing for dc in the garden (dd got it for her birthday but hasn't been nice enough yet)

I must finish the rest of my list before I run out of time as meant to be working later. Can't help sitting down for five minutes to enjoy the peace while everyone else in the garden. And dh made me Brewso I'm never going to move now am I!?

foxessocks · 05/04/2018 16:29

ta da
15 minutes decluttering in utility room - got rid of loads of old stuff for the cat. Found some gin-infusing stuff which I'll never do so have offered it to my mum as she makes sloe gin every year
cleaned front windows and front of front door
swish and swipe downstairs loo

Just need to sort out the lunch booking now.

Have found a nice storage idea for the porch but need to wait for it to be decorated first so can't do much more in that area. And our dining area is in our living room and very small area so not much to do there either. I have realised though that our house is seriously lacking in things like toy boxes...the amount of toys and none of them seem to have a home.

CotswoldStrife · 05/04/2018 17:09

We did go out to the Easter Trail - it's on a farm and very muddy, so it's a welly boot job. I thought it was a bit smelly today but DD didn't notice Grin Cafe had closed by the time we finished so took our money elsewhere for coffee and ice cream.

Better start planning tea - risotto might be an option if I can get the cooked chicken in the freezer defrosted all hail the microwave

We've got an indoor activity booked for tomorrow, but have to drive there so hoping for not too much rain. I think today was the best day weather-wise.

Sorry you had to cancel your appointment Bower, good to hear that it can be rearranged without too much of a wait.

Cagliostro · 05/04/2018 18:56

Anyone have the pointy stick? I seriously need to snap the hell out of it (the mood I’m in I mean... although snapping the stick itself is a distinct possibility)

Does anyone else ever feel like they only exist and have a vague semblance of value because of everything they do for everyone else, and no actual interest or value or anything in their own right? I feel like a non person and it’s hit me like a train today for some reason.

Time to actually get up and do dinner. I am really regretting starting DD’s melatonin break yesterday. It will not be fun and I have no headspace for neediness.

Bowerbird5 · 05/04/2018 19:05

Thanks. It wasn't a medical one but just annoying. I calmed down after I chose to cancel it. Went outside and it was so nice I decided to have a go at tidying up some of the garden. I got all the top bit done. And DH finally came out and did a bit. He has been wanting to cut the buddleia down but has no idea how to prune. I let him in the end as it was breaking at the bottom. It must have been the high winds we had a few days ago. Thinking I might drag him to B&Q or Garden centre to buy some matting and bark. Will have to curtail Henny's travels. She has quite a big pen around her coop but likes the run of the garden but likes scratching too. Might be able to barricade her in the bottom half as we have a fence and arch about half way.
DH has gone to M&S to buy something for tea. I did suggest a Chinese carry out but he doesn't want to go there.😝 I settled for an M&S S one so hope they have some. It is a little quick stop shop and probably our nearest shop.
Thanks FF sometimes I think Old B. Unfortunately anxiety is a side affect of the medication. Never heard that one before and hadn't read the bumf initially but was feeling like that. I thought perhaps I was more stressed than I realised. GP thinks I am a bit stressed I think. He was asking q's but then that makes sense because sometimes I feel jittery which I haven't experienced before. I missed it last night and think I might have had some sort of reaction. Nausea, hot, anxiety and a bit dizzy with racing pulse. Have two appointments next week at GPs. Hospital one at the end of the month. DH back wonder what he has brought. Pop & ping I hope! Sweet and sour chicken apparently.
Great flying, agree the good weather is motivating everyone.

Bowerbird5 · 05/04/2018 19:10

Oh yes Cags!

I think you might be a bit tired you had a massive lot on in the last few days. An unmumsnetty hug for you.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 05/04/2018 19:35

Hello! Not caught up on thread yet as been busy with work and children the last few days. Just having a 10 minute tidy up and then it’s bedtime for the girls. Have a plan to put some drain unblocker down (the glamour) and submit a job application to do some extra freelance work which I have been putting off for months tonight.

GoingGoingGoth · 05/04/2018 20:00

Cags regularly. I'm learning to say NO a lot more often these days.

Ta-dahs
Morning routine
Rang mother
Dry laundry away
Today was actually errand day;
Post office
Charity bag dropped off
Dry cleaning dropped off
Booked eye test
Shopping
Including a quick lunch with DD
Then helping DH with his work
Dinner
Washing up

CotswoldStrife · 05/04/2018 20:52

My DD has suddenly started saying 'I'm bored'. It only started at the weekend but already I am ready to kill.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 05/04/2018 21:01

One of mine is frequently "bored" and "but theres nothing to do" This only occurs when screens are restricted.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 05/04/2018 21:10

Mine are bored frequently. With or without screens Hmm. DH just gone into work so I am going to get a drink and do this application before starting to cook tea or I will never do it.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 05/04/2018 21:38

Done as much as I can of application but missed some bits that needed scanning (need DH’s help Blush) so can’t finish it. FFS. At least have made progress.
