I seem to be struggling to keep up with the thread again, but have just read through and been nodding my head at various places.
Washable wipes - yes, used them for both DCs, cotton mini-flannels from the Nappy Lady. Still in daily use more than 10 years later as face wipes, spill wipes, whatever, in fact I bought a load more bamboo ones a couple of years ago, we keep a basket full in the bathroom for anyone to use. I used to use wet-wipes out and about but I have eczema on my hand and they aggravated it so I really didn't like them. Haven't used them since the DCs were out of nappies.
Steam mops - we have the Karcher cylinder vac type one. Not much use on floors, you have to fill it up, plug it in, wait for it to heat up, mop, watch it push crumbs around, reverse the whole process. However it is brilliant with its small brush head for cleaning grot-spots such as fridge and dishwasher seals, cooker hoods, the edges of the floor where a normal mop doesn't quite get to, grouting etc and does a good job on windows.
Chemistry - my favourite subject! Cag we have a set of chemical element Top Trump cards which are good fun. Also a pack of litmus papers from Amazon has all sorts of uses. I find the CGP KS3 workbooks useful and explain things well.
Flying. Err not much so far. Working at home today, DCs at school. One load of washing optimistically on the line (quick-drying sports wear) and one in the dryer. DW on. Ballet bag sorted and packed for later. Dinner planned. Thinking about making a pineapple upside down cake with some leftover pineapple.
