Hello all - welcome to our February thread for 2018. Everyone is welcome and it's never too late to join in. We are decluttering our homes and keeping them clean and tidy(ish) as well as having some general chat as well.

We follow the Flylady method, and will post links daily to the missions via the Flylady website. For more information, have a look at www.flylady.net/

Here's to a fun February for all of us (with the occasional prod from the pointy stick of motivation and visits to the naughty corner Cake Brew Wine ) Grin

Good evening fledglings, sorry I have been AWOL today - been out to something this morning and then faffing around this afternoon. First time DD has been up, dressed and out all week apart from the doctor's visit. Has gone better than I thought, as I suspect she'll want to go back to school tomorrow so we thought we'd better see how she manages a shorter trip first!

Longtime well done on the DIY assembly
Cag hope Cagletini is doing OK
fresh that's a bit of an early start for the weekend!
Bower sorry to hear that you ended up in A&E again, please take it easy (I always think of Alan Carr's line about ending up in A&E on Friday night 'I thought someone had bombed Lidl')
zoo and Lisette have some paracetamol
stressy hope that machine is working again ASAP!
foxes a drink in bed is lovely, it is one of the few things my DH does for me
Hills I got caught in a bit of a Strictly YouTube loop myself last night and had to be strict
Goth an hour in the shower? Have you got any hot water left?

I'll prepare the links for the week now, and post Monday's later on. At least DD had a shower and hair wash/dry this morning so that's one less thing to do tonight.

I'm here for my roast *still Grin

cag that sounds lovely, especially at it being unexpected

toostressy when is it due to be repaired?

going yum at curry. That's what DP and I had tonight. This one with half fat creme fraiche rather than double cream, although it was me who cooked it.

Ta-da
Woken up by DS before 5 am and I took it all in my stride
Gave him a 3 course breakfast (cereal, toast with pb and then homemade fluffy raspberry pancakes!) plus all associated washing up
Wash put away and 2 loads hung to dry
DS and my clothes ready for tomorrow
Changed bedding in our bedroom
Phoned bank to set up security questions and switching dates
Walked to shops for "top-up" which it was not, bloody heavy:nearly killed me
Got DS to do the research part of his homework
Cooked curry

Ta-da for weekend
Didn't use the car at all

To-do
Make sure I get my steps in by bedtime
Batch cook soup for lunch at work
Self-care eg shower, hair wash and file nails (all things I hate)
Bedtime routine to start at 10 pm

Waves to everyone

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 04/02/2018 19:25

night

Stilllivinginazoo · 04/02/2018 22:34

Fanx for recipe😋😋😋

Cagliostro · 04/02/2018 22:36

ta da
✅spoke to pharmacist
✅made a rather labour intensive dinner (by my standard anyway, everything seems to take me so long and that’s before baby arrived)
✅daily focus - nice quiet treaty lunch
✅top up shop
✅managed to get medicine into (and on 🙄😳) wriggly grumpy baby
✅managed not to throw the laptop out the window - had to reinstall something complicated to finally fix a problem
✅washing and drying

I have felt pretty shit this afternoon/evening for a while but then realised it actually wasn’t so bad once I really looked at what was stressing me out (computer issue timed with making dinner and baby grumbling). That said DH and I are both pretty “meh” at the moment TBH and I’m not really sure how we can fix it. Everything is just difficult and time consuming and energy sapping.

Bowerbird5 · 04/02/2018 22:38

Managed to get cake made although I forgot to turn oven on to heat at first. Then remembered that I was supposed to be doing children's liturgy at Mass. So had to race around getting stuff and printer play.
Then choir. I love love love the songs were doing.😄
Shattered now though so lights outg.

I am working over time tomo. I could have said no thanks. I didn't, I am an idiot.
I have pulled a muscle or 3 in my back. Hmm

The people are doing impressions of cat zoomies. I wish they would fuck off to bed I want to sleep. Hmm

WhispersOfWickedness · 04/02/2018 23:25

Evening 😊
Bugger all flying done in the Whispers house this weekend, it has been dance exam weekend 😬 (dun dun duuuunnnn) I cannot begin to say how glad I am that it is half term next week and there will be a break from most activities 🙈 Just one week to go first 😬

Bowerbird5 · 05/02/2018 03:45

Yeah and if I can get myself through that I will be doing well, whispers!

Hills ahhhh! The daft sort of thing I would do. Why do we find it sodifficult to say NO! And even if you do people persist in asking then you either given or feel really guilty for not doing it. Other people say no and people just accept it. Like my DH. He would just say no and people accept it. Hhmmph! Not fair.

Oh good it's the kitchen this week and mine does need a sort out. Starting well because I am going to see what Howdens come up with today. I was due last week but was otherwise engaged...madly getting ready for Ofsted and had to cancel zas I was getting stressed trying to finish my planning by then and find all the sheets, props etc for the two lessons. Then after all that she didn't come in.the kids were brilliant though and cheered when they found out I was teaching that afternoon I was so touched. They said they really missed me. I haven't taught them this term😳 and I had missed them too.
Plan for today
Wash on.
Clean out baking cupboard. Make cake to take tomorrow to church...Ladies evening. Trying to use up ingredients so less to pack up when we get kitchen done.
Clean down all worktops and jars.
Clean microwave.

No visits to A & E😁
If I can achieve that today I will be pleased. Need to buy something for tea not sure what. I know stir fry. Our local butcher makes three stir fry bowls up. All you have to do is stick it in a hot work stir for about three to four minutes add noodles and a minute more tea is done.mmmm.
Happy flying today.
You've been so busy when I wasn't here. I'm impressed I read through all the threads to catch up on all your news. It is such an interesting thread hearing about dancing exams, faith groups and all the other things your families get up to. It is a busy time but you will look back on it and smile even though you 're paddling like ducks underneath just now.

cotswold hadn't heard that one. Good one 😄

Cagliostro · 05/02/2018 04:16

Ugggh up with coughing spluttering baby and she’s got a gammy eye now too. DH and I both tired and grumpy and snappy. Great start to the week. 😞😡

Going to try to sleep again now as she’s dozed off.

Bowerbird5 · 05/02/2018 06:30

Oooh poor Caglitini and poor you too. It will be a long week Cags
Lots of cuddles.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 05/02/2018 06:49

Morning all

BrewBrewBrew all round

Ds3 up 4-530. We just both had 30-45 min nap on sofa so now i feel nicely bent. Honestly its a good job i gave my job up isnt it.

Ive been doing bits in the kitchen already. Sorted a couple of cupboards and drawers. Cleaned fridge and microwave, descaled kettle. So kitchen suits me! It is generally our messiest room.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 05/02/2018 06:50

cag ive heard people say breast milk good for gammy eyes

foxessocks · 05/02/2018 07:34

Dh left crack of dawn this morning and then an hour later I hear his key in the lock again a little whisper of "only me" and he leaves again. Wondering what he forgot that was worth coming all the way back for!

Snowing here this morning so can't wait for dd to wake up so I can show her. Ds is whinging so I better finish my coffee quickly.

Will be back for a to do list later. Kitchen...don't know if I have the energy for the kitchen!

Cagliostro · 05/02/2018 09:20

Yup have put milk on her eye last night. She was not impressed 😂 hasn’t worked yet but hopefully. It has in the past and did with DS when he was little too.

So tired and could stay in bed longer but I’m going to get up as we have fuckloads to do and it’s really getting me down the last couple of days so I just need to try and wake up so I can crack on earlier. Plus I can delegate more from the sofa 😈

Snowing here too. Sooo not in the mood. Ugh.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 05/02/2018 09:41

We have some light snow too. I like it until its deep and i need to push ds up a hill!

WhispersOfWickedness · 05/02/2018 10:01

Argh, I want snow!! We just had a very light dusting this morning, not even enough to look pretty! We normally get snow every year, but seem to have some sort of forcefield around us this year as we've had virtually nothing even when the rest of the country appears to be snowed in!

I'm at work now (shhh), but my ta das before I left were
Dishwasher emptied
Washing in tumble drier
DD's bedding in washing machine (any hints and tips for getting kids dry at night gratefully received, she's six...)

We have an unexpected hour at home this afternoon because dancing has finished for half term, so in that hour I need to:
Fill dishwasher
Put bedding on to dry
Put the bins out

Happy Monday everyone 😬🙈
