Hello all - welcome to our February thread for 2018. Everyone is welcome and it's never too late to join in. We are decluttering our homes and keeping them clean and tidy(ish) as well as having some general chat as well.

We follow the Flylady method, and will post links daily to the missions via the Flylady website. For more information, have a look at www.flylady.net/

Here's to a fun February for all of us (with the occasional prod from the pointy stick of motivation and visits to the naughty corner Cake Brew Wine ) Grin

, it would have been lovely to see you, were you going to the town beginning with F for your yarn? I didn't make it myself as we were away probably just as well as I would only have added to my yarn clutter. I have got help with the EHCP, from a friend who works in the field and have been chatting/ranting to Swan as well.

Cag - there was a time when it seemed that just about everyone on this thread had a DCs with SNs, I had a lot of moral support and good advice here, if you decide to take the plunge with the EHCP I hope it will be the same.

No KFC here (just as well for my waistline) but we noticed that the one at the motorway services was shut at the weekend.

Erm, Flying. So far today I have done one load of washing, swished and swiped, sent the DCs to school and come to work, where I had better get cracking.

Cagliostro · 20/02/2018 11:18

First lesson done! Cagletini went upstairs with the others. Phew!

Cagliostro · 20/02/2018 11:20

Thanks who I am planning to because basically they can’t see an ed psych otherwise, apparently. And we are pretty sure DD has some LDs as well as autism. Plus if she goes to college one day it will hopefully help. It’s scary though!

It doesn’t surprise me in a way that so many of us here have children with extra needs. It is so exhausting and makes it harder to manage everything else and keep on top of it all!

Wh0KnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 20/02/2018 11:35

Yes Cag, lack of access to an EP was one of the things that tipped me into it in the first place. College is one of the reasons it's important I get this right now as DS is 14.

GoingGoingGoth · 20/02/2018 11:56

Ta dah update
Fed birds
Booked car in for service - why DH can't ring I don't know
Made:

  • cottage pie for tonight
  • jerusalem artichoke soup (yes it's use up the veg box day)
  • apple crunch pudding
  • blanched & froze celeriac (for future soup)
Washed up Rubbish out

Left the front door open as cat is starting to take an interest in going outside - this has stopped as cat from upstairs wandered in as if she owned the place and swore at him. His reaction was reminiscent of an elderly aunt.

foxessocks · 20/02/2018 14:40

HillsBesideTheSea · 20/02/2018 15:16

Whoknows Yes I did indeed go to that town. It was terribly enabling for indie dyers so not the cheapest (but very lovely) and no acrylic in sight. I did enjoy it, but unlikely to make the trip again though as didn't enjoy it as much as other more accessible (ie local) events. If I had realised it was so close before hand I would have seen how things were with you but I only realised it was so close when I got lost and ended up driving through. iyswim organisation it helps Grin

HillsBesideTheSea · 20/02/2018 15:16

Would recommend the event though.

FoolandFitz · 20/02/2018 16:57

Ta-da
Went for a walk to the shops
Tidied inside part of a wardrobe. It's fitted wardrobes - it really needs a lick of paint inside.
Bathed (always a bonus during holidays)

foxessocks · 20/02/2018 17:27

Ta da
Fish pie in the oven and remembered to make extra cheese sauce for tomorrow lunch -I have actually been efficient!Shock although now we need more milk Hmm

foxessocks · 20/02/2018 17:28

fool our wardrobe needs painting, repairing, handle has come off...it's a state. Oh and a light as I can never see any if my clothes! Might be why I often look like I've got dressed in the dark then!

Stilllivinginazoo · 20/02/2018 17:47

Tea at yours sounds good foxes
Top marks for making sauce for tomorrow too, very organised!!

Supervised homework

Just started dinner-baked salmon and green bean and pea risotto with tarragon
Pud-baked pears(half, core and fill with mix oats, honey, chop hazelnuts, little choc or raisins if healthier than us)dollop yogurt with that😋😋😋😋😋

Cagliostro · 20/02/2018 17:59

ta da
✅panic tidy
✅daily focus - made huge headway on World Book Day party, various posts, sorted payments, ordered resources
✅diary admin
✅tumble drying
✅scanned Tesco shop
✅taught my first paid lesson!
✅home ed - independent research work (one of the tasks they didn’t get the chance to do at the library yesterday), a couple of workbook pages and started using DoodleMaths app which I got a cheap subscription for. DH did maths and spellings with them while I was teaching.
✅played a new science card game with DH and DS (was supposed to be family fun on Saturday but then family stuff happened. Again.)

Cagletini still super clingy so it’s a turkey dinosaur sort of evening.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 20/02/2018 18:18

Ta da:-
Had play date at my house
Tidied up half of house after play date
Girls had a haircut
Tidied up muddy boots and trainers - had a good idea to repurpose a storage box for the muddy trainers that have nowhere to live. Will need to buy another box but it was only a cheap one so can do that once the girls are back at school.

To do:-
Tea for DDs
Think about our tea later
Tidy up the other half of the house
Become a more organised, less stressed person. I think if I could just get the house organised I would have so much more time to be organised myself and then to work on other things. Presume people can relate???!

Bowerbird5 · 20/02/2018 18:54

Met my new 1:1. Seems like we will get along fine.

Little ones doing well with Maths.

Very littles ones enjoyed two books and some arty farty crafty because I had left the wrong bag at home including my planning. As it was done weeks ago I couldn't remember what it was. Anyway they enjoyed it and listened well. Made a mess so must have enjoyed that.
Taught favourite class and thankfully finished the work from last term so only one week behind. Love, love , love those kids. It was difficult, not what I had chosen but we were all finished by 3 pm and tidied up too. Bible story then home.
Had hot cross bun and cake for afternoon tea then dozed off in front of film on 5. Was going to make SPAG & meatballs only no SPAG so changed halfway through to mini burgers with pesto in them which actually turned out tasty. Baked potato and I had an egg from little hen.
Out now for church thing then bed early.

Bowerbird5 · 20/02/2018 18:55

All fed no one dead although tempted when I found my lovely clean dishclothes 😡😖DH what the hell!

foxessocks · 20/02/2018 19:47

toostressy can't even being to tell you how much I relate to that!

Ds is now coming down with something I think or his teeth are playing him up. He won't go to sleep. Have given him calpol. He feels a bit hot and had been very whiney all evening.

Dd is also not going to sleep she keeps playing with her musical bear "to help her sleep" then complaining that she can't sleep!

Made a posh coffee that went cold because of so many trips up and down stairs

Stilllivinginazoo · 20/02/2018 20:49

Ditto foxes / toostressy
Cold coffee is rubbish, poss cold coffee is a bloody disaster imo!!
Bower her at hubby and dishcloths!!

HillsBesideTheSea · 20/02/2018 20:50

Me: I have a day off tomo I am going to do all the things read craft and make a long to do list

Me: no is a complete sentence and allowed Yep nope problem
The house: WTAF?! Me first! me first!

Yeah find me in the naughty corner until thursday and then run like hell from the to do/ta da list. You're welcome.

Stilllivinginazoo · 20/02/2018 20:50

Grrrrr atBlush

Wh0KnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 20/02/2018 21:35

Hills, I probably would have gone on Fri if it hadn't been half term, its only about 8 miles from here, I spend half my life driving there and back (I work there, DS goes to school there and we go through every weekend to get somewhere else). Having said that, I'm only really crafting for WH at the moment so no need for artisan yarn. I can't wear wool either, it makes me itch.

foxessocks · 20/02/2018 22:06

Well ds doesn't feel hot anymore but think we aren't going to get much sleep tonight. He is awake again. Just won't settle.

CotswoldStrife · 20/02/2018 23:18

Waves to fledglings on the thread today.

Actual flying took place here today. I almost caught up with the washing up, I posted a card, shopped, descaled the electric steamer (life on the edge here as usual), chauffered DD about and enforced all homework (musical instrument, spellings and reading) to be done. Wrote letter and included extortionate fee for upcoming event. Even got DD in the shower.

There are still things to be done but I am going to ignore them now and panic tomorrow morning a sure-fire failure method I will post the links early and take my kindle to bed to play games. It still counts as going to bed early Hmm Grin

Cagliostro · 20/02/2018 23:19

Oh no foxes :( baby still poorly here too. Cough just won’t shift and her throat is hoarse. Not sure if they’ll let her have her jabs on Thursday. Not been feverish for a couple of days though.

So bloody glad we didn’t have to leave the house today. Pleased with home ed progress too and DS suddenly wanted to do crosswords before bed and willingly wrote everything 😮😮😮

Feeling run down as hell tonight but also useless and guilty as I know I am not making good choices and that’s not helping. Still need to get my damn bloods done. And stop eating crap.

Also relate here totally stressy just don’t know where to begin with it all
