Hello all - welcome to our February thread for 2018. Everyone is welcome and it's never too late to join in. We are decluttering our homes and keeping them clean and tidy(ish) as well as having some general chat as well.

We follow the Flylady method, and will post links daily to the missions via the Flylady website. For more information, have a look at www.flylady.net/

Here's to a fun February for all of us (with the occasional prod from the pointy stick of motivation and visits to the naughty corner Cake Brew Wine ) Grin

Afresh 😯😉 unless there is something she forgot to mention you.

Stilllivinginazoo · 19/02/2018 04:46

That reminds me afresh, foxes - we still haven't found our "victim" for A new baby on the thread yet have we?!

Irritatingly I can't sleep.assume as its first day back at school and I have a billion and one things to do today this is why.i will give up trying and get up shortly....

Stilllivinginazoo · 19/02/2018 04:47

Forgot to add, hope cagletini is a little better today.horrible when tiny ones aren't well.sending hugs to you cag,and to DD bless herFlowers

Bowerbird5 · 19/02/2018 06:27

E ugh! The dust. I have pretty hat boxes from TK Maxx on top of my wardrobe or does she mean dressing table😁 I don't have one. I have two chest of drawers cos you can cram more stuff in them.

My ' dresser ' is in the kitchen and the only bit I didn't clean so I think I will do that today and save wardrobe top for Wednesday.

One thing is for sure zoo it won't be me. I'm past it! Unless it could be a grandchild...I wouldn't mind one of those but I don't think DD would oblige.
Hope Cagletini and DD are feeling better this morning.

I'm starting back full days today. Not really looking forward to it which isn't like me. I'll be very tired afterwards and an afternoon nap is on the cards I think. It is also my most tiring day timetable wise.😕
Have a happy flying day everyone.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 19/02/2018 07:16

Yes we need a thread bump. I would oblige but 'dp' says no. Although he contribute zero so i dont know why he even cares!

FlyingJellyfishInTheAttic · 19/02/2018 08:44

Thanks Foxes hope you are ok too. I’m working a lot at the moment but managed to organise kids crafts after work which is something (sorry I missed your post).

Hope everyone is doing ok. Will try and get back on this thread properly.

Steamcloud · 19/02/2018 10:15

Just diving in to say hello! Back to reality after lovely half term holiday: tax inspection at home and in the office today. They happen about once a decade. Three people sitting at our dining room table from 9am until 4pm (sigh). House is a tip but I brazened it out then left it to dh and escaped to the country where there is another mahoosively long list of jobs to work through.

Will have to read back through thread but in the meantime,
sorry you have been having such a horrible time of late Flowers Callmecordelia, life with young DC can be v isolating at times.

Humungous waves to everyone else!

Cagliostro · 19/02/2018 10:40

Hey sc yikes that sounds a bit scary!

Cagletini hasn’t had a fever for 24h now and is mostly ok ATM, just when she catches her throat she coughs a lot. Annoyingly there are things today and tomorrow that I really can’t cancel again, so as it’s just a cold I’ll snuggle her into the sling and hope for the best. 😕

Feeling fairly motivated this morning, so have done a few things from the bed. Not in a dodgy way 😳😂

ta da
✅spellings and maths (will PM you now bower but please ignore if not up to it, really hope your return to work goes ok 💐)
✅delegated washing and drying
✅posted about sports club, made the decision to delay another week as things are just too crazy and stressful to countenance starting tomorrow (partly due to the things mentioned above that I can’t cancel) but put up booking info and filled in diary dates for it
✅emailed about trampolining

Need fooooood must get up now

Steamcloud · 19/02/2018 10:43

Here are some thread "bumps" btw! About to lamb any day soon!

Glad Cagletini feeling a wee bit better Cag if not totally recovered poor thing.

Yes, and good luck with the rtn to work Bower

Afreshcuppateaplease · 19/02/2018 11:01

Ah sheep baaaaaabies!

Steamcloud · 19/02/2018 11:22

Pics of fluffy lambs to follow when they arrive Afresh!

And yes it is rather scary Cag they turn up early (deliberately) and are sort of silent and tight-lipped with darty eyes Grin Our notaire and accountant come to represent us and it all a bit adversarial across the table.

The most excruciatingly embarrassing bit for me though is people from office coming to our dusty old house (try to keep both bits separate as much as possible but inevitably fail) and process is made much worse by DH who only gives me minimal details because he thinks I'll be less stressed that way - when in fact the opposite is true - ggggrrrAngry. Oh and everything is pretty immaculate in office because if anything breaks it gets fixed immediately, or if they need storage it is bought immediately, and it's decorated all the time .... not so the house ... .

Oh dear. My Lenten resolution (stolen from the vicar in the Archers) is to not complain.

Failed again!!Blush Confused

foxessocks · 19/02/2018 12:47

Great sheep photo I love it!

Ta das
Dd packed lunch and dropped off
Been to 4 different shops for some groceries and in search of card, wrapping paper and sweets for dd birthday.
Ds had two cold roast potatoes for lunch Blush bad parenting?!
Ds down for nap
Made phone call re dd party
Daily routine
Emptied kitchen bin
Reloaded dishwasher

To do
Hoover
Mop
Dust - do extra dusting upstairs as dd bedroom very dusty where all her teddies sit. Can never be bothered to take them all off.
Declutter in bedroom
Dressing table
Change towels / sheets etc

Sigh. I both love and hate Mondays. Hate the amount of housework I do on a Monday but I do love the end of Monday when everything looks nice. And that lasts until approximately 9am on Tuesday Hmm

Afreshcuppateaplease · 19/02/2018 12:52

Pointy stick please

CotswoldStrife · 19/02/2018 13:38

Hello all, just jumping back in after a really busy weekend.

House is a tip as it is post birthday party chaos. DD2 had a lovely party but there is now stuff everywhere, both children have been challenging over the weekend and we now have a week of half term.

Been out all morning to a farm park so have lots of muddy clothes to wash. Need to get the girls in the shower now. D

Plus the tumble drier is leaking. Give me strength Angry.

Current dilemma is do I take the girls to gymnastics this afternoon? Nobody wants to go, we have stuff everywhere and DH will be working late probably so I could really do with a movie / craft afternoon while I tidy. But I never normally let them skip it without a proper excuse.

Steamcloud · 19/02/2018 14:37

I would give yourselves permission to skip it Toostressy. Most extra-curricular stuff is suspended during half term here and DD always enjoyed the break from her usual classes. You might find lots of people are away so they don't miss much anyway; (or occasionally it works in reverse in that they get more hands on tuition because of the lack of numbers). I don't think it would harm just once if you're usually regular attendees though.

Steamcloud · 19/02/2018 14:46

Correction: meant most regular term time extra curricular stuff is suspended during holidays, although the holiday clubs are in full swing of course iyswim.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 19/02/2018 15:42

Thanks SC, we are skipping it. It’s a shame but staying gives me some hope of doing some tidying and so hopefully having a less stressful week ahead. Maybe Hmm.

foxessocks · 19/02/2018 15:49

Ta das
Hoover downstairs
Mopped downstairs
Dusted downstairs
Dusted dressing table and decluttered

To do

Cagliostro · 19/02/2018 16:17

ta da continued
✅went to library to meet relative and helped her sort some stuff out while the Caglets played with her LO
✅more admin with various home ed things I’m sorting. Think I’m getting into the swing of this sort of thing now.
✅reached out to newly HEing mum - I’ve not met her but I know her own mum from the school run years ago and they’ve just taken the DD, who was friends with my DS, out of school and don’t know anyone.
✅Caglets currently putting their clothes away before we dash to taekwondo.

Didn’t get a chance to do anything else we needed to in town and the Caglets didn’t do their work at the library either (the idea was that they’d do some independent work again while me and relative did baby rhyme with the littlies. But her LO didn’t want to and Cagletini was grizzly anyway so we just did the other stuff instead. I’ve brought the books home to get them to hopefully do the little tasks in the next few days. See this is why we get sod all done, there is ALWAYS something else going on. Gah.

foxessocks · 19/02/2018 17:32

Hi everyone, I am back! No more migraine - lasted 2 weeks! Went to the doctors numerous times, went to the opticians, am going to the dentist this week. I have to choose and book an appointment with a neurologist.

It's half term week. I got a very rare night away from DS and DP on Saturday night. There was a whole group of us who descended on friends who live by the beach. It was lovely to catch up with them all as I hadn't seen them for a year.

Minimal flying today as too tired. I was sharing a bed with DS and he woke me up the wrong side of 5.30 am. I will start tomorrow.

bower hope today went ok Flowers
cag poor cagletini. I always put vicks on DS's feet as well as chest and back when he had a cough still do - it seemed to work
sc yay at baby lambs on their way - photos please, for sure
fox beer sounds good but unfortunately alcohol triggers migraines

Waves to everyone else. (Are we back in the bedroom already?)
