Hello all - welcome to our February thread for 2018. Everyone is welcome and it's never too late to join in. We are decluttering our homes and keeping them clean and tidy(ish) as well as having some general chat as well.

We follow the Flylady method, and will post links daily to the missions via the Flylady website. For more information, have a look at www.flylady.net/

Here's to a fun February for all of us (with the occasional prod from the pointy stick of motivation and visits to the naughty corner Cake Brew Wine ) Grin

The children have just got every single toy out of dd cupboard and insisted we all play. We've played an elephant game. A fishing game. Peppa pig guess who. Ben and holly giant puzzle. Ben and holly castle . I've had to bribe them with sweets to stop while I have a cup of tea! I can't stop coughing so am drinking constant tea. I'm pleased they are discovering toys they'd forgotten about but it would be nice if someone could put them away again Hmm

Ta das
Finished daily routine

Bath mats
15 mins bathroom
Swish and swipe downstairs loo

Cagliostro · 15/02/2018 14:49

Cagletini slept really well so feeling ok today really. Safely at mum’s now, journey was ok although I did feel a bit like Olivia Colman’s character in Green Wing 😳 especially as we missed the first bus and still managed to almost miss the next one. 😳🙄 Really glad I brought the sling rather than the buggy as the bus at this end was horrifically packed.

DS has done me really proud today talking about the periodic table 😍and being very polite to various strangers. He is in a mood now though and refusing to play outside. 🤔

HillsBesideTheSea · 15/02/2018 20:47

ds is not in a peaceful mood. dear god the homework trauma. Hmm

I have just been wondering why I have a headache and feel a bit rubbish. Might have something to do with the fact that breakfast was 3 small crackers and a bit of cheese, lunch was 2 more crackers and I haven't eaten tea yet. that'll be why the head ache then Hmm

I did the errands except 2, but the shop was shut (small business and life it happens) I have pie mixes cooling, pastry defrosting and should be prepping for tomo. Tbh I don't want to. I need to but I don't want to Oh fuck and handwashing I need to rescue. Sad

Bedtime?

Cagliostro · 15/02/2018 22:39

CotswoldStrife · 15/02/2018 23:24

Evening fledglings, I think I will be back to human form by tomorrow so get the pointy stick ready as well as the cough sweets and tissues

I will post the links shortly. I will be back to my usual enforcing role tomorrow (slams palm into fist menacingly). Well I hope so, because the kitchen here is out of control - DH can cook, but not wash up apparently Hmm Grin

Morning.not a great sleep here as let kit sleep with me.shes a sweetie, but her sister gets up to play in night and kept waking me up crashing around as she refuses to be parted from sibling.when we took them at 8weeks they were apart 48hrs.and "chatted" on reunion and rub/groom.theyve never been apart since(neutered tog and kept in same cage at vets as drew together in fear before and comfort after.they are one next month.be weird separating them for vets trip this morning...(8.30)
I need get up and be productive quell nerves
Stressful day ahead

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 16/02/2018 06:19

Morning all, thanks for links Cotswold, especially when you and DD are feeling unwell. I meant to say foxes, how lovely to find that card from your grandad.

I’ve just caught up with the thread and i’m afraid I am going to add to the unwell posts. Still have cold and now have a cough. It is DD2’s birthday party tomorrow and half term next week so not good timing at all.

Plan for today has to be rest as much as poss. Also though need to do quick food shop for weekend, clear a room for my parents to stay in tomorrow and have doctors’ appointment. Plus swimming lessons after school. Best get on as DD1 is up.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 16/02/2018 06:29

No zoo he hasnt
Its so far up i think its stuck

HillsBesideTheSea · 16/02/2018 06:50

I have to get a bazillion pies made before 12noon today. I am about to go start. I don't want to. I'd rather still be asleep. Supposed to be going away for the weekend. I don't want to do that either. It is all feeling like way too much effort right now Hmm

Afreshcuppateaplease · 16/02/2018 06:52

Why so much pie?

HillsBesideTheSea · 16/02/2018 07:10

batch cooking. We have no kitchen due to building work so it needs to be ping and go meals for the next 3 weeks. Gritty food is not fun!

Some fucker has hiden the ceramic beads for blind baking AngryAngryAngry I have had to wake a person to ask them where the fuck they are. Hmm The are just finding their eyes yep know that feeling

HillsBesideTheSea · 16/02/2018 07:12

Actually tbh we have a kitchen it will just be full of plaster dust Hmm and the plastic sheeting to keep it at a low level has already proper pissed me off keep forgetting it is there HmmBlush

foxessocks · 16/02/2018 07:24

hills that sounds stressful.

I can't stop coughing. It is really annoying me.

Sorry everyone suffering with colds

Dc just waking up so I better get moving.

Bowerbird5 · 16/02/2018 08:17

Stocks up naughty corner with tissues, cough sweets, lemons, whisky and a kettle. Blankies and a good book, some magazines with lots of pictures like Your Home to flick through when you don't feel much like reading.🔥cosy fire to sit beside.

Plan for today
Get up.
Make marmalade which should have been made Wednesday, Thursday but I got distracted. First by cleaning dresser, secondly by not being able to print recipe and iPad not receiving Internet. Hmm.
So today must do it as fruit turning, lost two oranges.
Vacuum stairs and hall.
Tidy bedroom, not much just put clothes away.
Other room is dining room today. I did all of the cupboard so need to do hot spot and dust window sill and then all done. Skirting boards. Set table. When I set table we don't put clutter on there.

Was hoping for two nights away but DH didn't feel like it yesterday. Has done nothing about taking car in. He knows I hate driving to where garage is. He is going to not mention it now so we won't be going. He was all for it when away. I would have booked it but it has been very snowy there and some roads closed. Waited to see if it cleared.

Bowerbird5 · 16/02/2018 08:26

Hills
You are brilliant cooking all those pies. They sound delicious. I have all this to come uuuuhhhhhggggghhhh! Still deciding on new kitchen. Worked out if I tighten up all my spends for a year plus a little from savings I can afford my share of kitchen. I want to pay back myself monthly. I am not looking forward to the mess especially the dust. I might move out to Son2. House for a couple of weeks he will LOVE that!

HillsBesideTheSea · 16/02/2018 09:07

Thing is I know that if I do 1 batch of each flavour there is only 1 flavour that I have to make more than 1 more time in the year. 4 large pies done 2 more at blind baking stage, 8 little pies at cooking stage. Run out of pastry and going to shoot out for more blind baking beads and single use aluminium pie tins - I'd rather use my reusable pie forms but today i do not have time to be messing about with cooling times so it is the only way forwards.

HillsBesideTheSea · 16/02/2018 09:09

It is the fun of having to make sure that pastry is milk free bower don't have a choice but just roll blue has been milk free so that saves me from making from scratch which I will done when I have time and energy as it is far cheaper but atm I don't have time or energy on my side.

Ds has his appointment date for allergies so hopefully we will find out next month whether or not he will need an epi-pen. All the funs.

HillsBesideTheSea · 16/02/2018 09:10

Sorry meant to say don't have a choice because can't buy allergy friendly pies. We want pie I have to make it.

Coffee?
