Hello all - welcome to our February thread for 2018. Everyone is welcome and it's never too late to join in. We are decluttering our homes and keeping them clean and tidy(ish) as well as having some general chat as well.

We follow the Flylady method, and will post links daily to the missions via the Flylady website. For more information, have a look at www.flylady.net/

Here's to a fun February for all of us (with the occasional prod from the pointy stick of motivation and visits to the naughty corner Cake Brew Wine ) Grin

Urgh. Still coughing . Both dc woke up coughing. And I woke up realising dh forgot to get dd to write her card to mil (he is dropping off present after work today) so now I'm going to have to deliver it after swimming. Humph.

Need to see if ds is awake or if I can sneak a shower in first.

Well people in the house overslept this means two things. 1 person will be annoying me all day, 1 will be stupidly late home from work and 1 is still sulking about homework and our argument on Tuesday. Hmm

Also I was supposed to be making pies for the freezer. I forgot to take the meat out of the oven and the kitchen looks like a bomb has gone off AND the table that is sooo useful when batch cooking is on the other side of plastic sheeting. And we all know it will not end well if I try to use the table it is also in a potentially high dust area hence the sheeting and no one likes gritty food

Ergo my day has put me in a bad mood so I have take 2 cups of coffee back to bed and I am about to throw a knitting project across the room in frustration. At which point my to do list is:

Laundry
pack ds' stuff
put clothes away
washing up
clean the kitchen entirely
put meat into defrost in a sink full of water
make chicken pie filling
make beef pie filling
slow cook gammon joint for pie making
steam clean the pastry board
make all the pies
make jam tarts if have left over pastry
book hotel
print maps
pass out face first onto bed
do not shout self hoarse at teenager and homework. Hmm this one is lies we all know it is going to end badly

I should also tidy my room, pick up a new light bulb for the car, book a service, pick up a prescription. And a lottery win or minions to do all of the above for me would be great too.

HillsBesideTheSea · 15/02/2018 09:06

freezer!!! not oven. The meat is still frozen not charcoaled

did I mention it is a 2 cup of coffee day?

Afreshcuppateaplease · 15/02/2018 09:22

It is a 20 cup of tea day!

GoingGoingGoth · 15/02/2018 10:25

Oh Hills I hate days like that, staying in bed is the only solution.

I seem to have found my mojo this morning, but I think I may have worn it out and expect it to disappear rapidly

Grin at zoo arsy DH and then mentions the vets...my brain instantly put the two together Grin

No romance here. I've had no internet. Very windy ( the weather 😏) and snowy. Cleared today but keeps trying. Had sunshine , hail, snow, hail, sunshine and that's just since 9am!

Lots of flying here yesterday ( no internet) I finished cleaning the kitchen. It looks lovely. Started on cupboard in dining room. Have a surface in there that is a hot spot it haven't tackled it yet.
Romance. We seem to be nearly all in the same boat.
DH phones me to say he has landed a plus.
Discuss supper as I don't really want to drive on icy roads. He decides to pick up Take away and get a taxi. Be here about 8:30 pm is that ok. Fine later than usual as he missed connecting train. Or M&S from station. All fine. 8:30 came and went no answer to text, 9pm no answer from call, three more calls till 10 pm. Message at 10:10 pm to say saw Son3 in town went to have chat( went to watch football) and could he stay with him and watch second half. Stifled polite bloody starving message from me. Arrives home at 10 :30 with warm not hot Chinese.
Bloody Valentines( we don't celebrate since he did something to make me not bother years ago) I was livid. He was drunk as well stumbled into door. Hope he has a bruise!

Afreshcuppateaplease · 15/02/2018 12:04

Ta da

School run and all that that entails
Nipped to shop
LR1 toys tidy
LR1 swept
LR2 sofa and coffee table tidy
LR2 swept
All pots washed
Sink shon (wow)
Lower cupboard and drawers fronts wiped
Under cupboards and drawers wiped
1 load washed now drying
Second load in (inc bath mat)

This morning was crap. Dc1&2 both ridiculously argumentative. Glad it was a school day.

Stilllivinginazoo · 15/02/2018 12:28

Are your off next week then afresh?
Mine off this and I'm losing will to live with the arguing and snot

Soups on
Wash cold n put away
More in dryer
More in machine

My sink desperately needs good scrub/shineBlush

Bowerbird5 · 15/02/2018 12:35

Ta Das
Not many yet having a lazy morning was supposed to be going away.DH doesn't feel like it today. So if we go I get one night! Not sure it is worth it.

Washing in
Lidl customer service great in request for elderly friend re missing item have emailed it to me.
Discussed kitchen plans with DH as I had a cheaper company plan while he was away. He agreed with me. I asked him first so didn't realise he was agreeing with my opinion. Like the more expensive one best. Will have to spend a year tightening belt to pay for it. Less hassle though as they come and do everything!
Breakfast and washed up.
Marmalade oranges and recipe at the ready. Need to do that today. Completely forgot about it yesterday. Idiot!
Need to remove box of stuff from sitting room and dust.

Stilllivinginazoo · 15/02/2018 13:00
foxessocks · 15/02/2018 13:16

Seems everyone is a bit fed up! I am too actually. Had to drive to mil house after swimming to drop card off. Rushing about tidying when we got in. Ds asleep. Finally sit down. Ds wakes up...after only 20 minute nap!!! He's crying. Because he's tired.

At least dd is quiet watching cbeebies.

Ta da
Some daily routine dishwasher on, quick tidy up
Emptied kitchen bin
Made dc lunch
Done some of online food shop
Delivered mil card
Did next week meal plan
Decided what to make for dinner

To do
Finish daily routine
Bath mats
15 min bathroom
Swish and swipe downstairs loo
Finish online food shop

Try and find some motivation from somewhere.

More wash in dryer, more wash on
I don't understand where all this washing is coming from?do my neighbours have secret access and are loading up the laundry basket?!Confused

Bowerbird5 · 15/02/2018 13:47

😱😡😤

Afresh you do seem to be having a time of it at the moment.
Let's hope things are better soon.

Goth where can you buy some of that Mojo? I need some especially today. Watching curling. I once saw the world championships inScotland. My grandad was a curler. I'm just waiting to spring into action...any minute now...any minute...
zoo I was thinking of making minestrone. Oh my dad used to make the best minestrone.

Bowerbird5 · 15/02/2018 13:55

The kids are earning pocket money from them zoo. Have you had the football kit yet? Not only did all three boys play ( 1 for four teams) but one was in charge of kit. 22 shirts, 22 pairs of shorts, 22 pairs of socks. DH had a job where he changed shirts on shifts. 12/ 18 times a week. Washed and ironed when I had small people. Now I think three loads in a day is excessive! Usually one every two days plus bedding. DH does his own now😬 took a lot of training!

Britain on tiebreak with China ...extra time. DH snoring. Exhausted after microwaving leftovers.

GoingGoingGoth · 15/02/2018 14:14

Bower I daren't put the curling on TV, it's so addictive I wouldn't get anything done.

zoo With you re the washing, I'm sure the socks are breeding in the basket. Dirty little beggars. Grin

Next lot of Ta-dahs
Ring doc re test results still not in
Almost got massage session for friend & I organised - got 15 days before coupon runs out, now to find out when she's free
Prep for work tomorrow & at weekend

To do

Collect DD / Post Office

DH is being spontaneous again, there's a light show in the Botanic Gardens running for the next few nights so he's booked us in for this evening. Forecast says rain, which is better than for the rest of the time when it says snow.

Honestly it's since coming on her my life has got more interesting, normally we never do anything.

Bowerbird5 · 15/02/2018 14:26

Britain beat them.

Bowerbird5 · 15/02/2018 14:28

I haven't 😊 well I opened the mail.
