Hello all - welcome to our February thread for 2018. Everyone is welcome and it's never too late to join in. We are decluttering our homes and keeping them clean and tidy(ish) as well as having some general chat as well.

We follow the Flylady method, and will post links daily to the missions via the Flylady website. For more information, have a look at www.flylady.net/

Here's to a fun February for all of us (with the occasional prod from the pointy stick of motivation and visits to the naughty corner Cake Brew Wine ) Grin

I think I’d choose the kangaroo. Koalas probably smell of eucalyptus. Yuck.

I think I should use an app actually, good shout. I have a lovely iPad now and spend far too much time on it so might motivate me!

Cagliostro · 12/02/2018 10:46

Is home routines fully customisable or does it have set tasks?

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 12/02/2018 10:58

It’s a bit of both Cag. It has set zones but with set tasks which are similar but not quite the same as the Flylady ones so I just ignore these. You can sync it to the internet to get more standard Home Routine stuff but I don’t understand that so don’t do it! The rest is pretty customisable. At least my version is. The only thing is the routines are the same each day but then you can add a note for each day. Eg one of my tasks is packed lunch or tea if needed. So if I don’t need it then I just don’t do it or just tick it off anyway.

GoingGoingGoth · 12/02/2018 11:48

Morning all

We were spontaneous yesterday, was such a nice morning I suggested we go up to Loch Lomond, DH then sugested we stay overnight and promptly booked us in at a B&B. So after a bit of running round setting up cat feeder and dragging DD out of bed we set off, had a spot of lunch then wondered up to the Loch. It was beautiful - for about an hour - after which the snow hit. (what we could see was still beautiful)
So we spent the rest of the day in the pub Grin
Still snowing there this morning, we drive home - gorgeous sunshine.

So my few Ta-dahs are
Unpacked overnight bags
Laundry on

Cagliostro · 12/02/2018 12:01

Thanks stressy I know that I tend to get annoyed easily if that sort of thing isn’t ‘right’ 😳 so not sure whether to go for it or not as it’s a fiver. In the meantime I’m trying habitify which isn’t specifically housework but wondering if I can adapt it to suit all the many things I should be doing! That one is free (can upgrade later) so thought I’d give that a go first.

Ugh I have a major case of CBA today. I need to go get food as we have nothing in for lunch at all. Normally I’d be all YAY SHOPPING (or an excuse for lunch out) but meh

Cagliostro · 12/02/2018 12:02

Sounds blissful goth I’d love to do more spontaneous things like that. If I am more organised in daily life maybe it’ll be possible :o

CotswoldStrife · 12/02/2018 13:09

Afternoon ladies - I've spent most of the morning in bed, as I've now got the sore throat and runny nose combo Angry It's not too bad at the moment and paracetamol is helping quite a bit. Just another excuse for a slow day!

Angry i am having massive fucking man child issues Angry

Cagliostro · 12/02/2018 17:35

Oh no! 😡😡😡

I have surprised myself by insisting that the Caglets go to taekwondo. They were a bit meh, I know it’s because it’s a different class time/group (sessions are condensed into one during school holidays) but they’ll have to put up with that in summer holidays anyway. I really don’t feel like it but dammit we are going anyway. Not about to mess up our 100% attendance to everything so far this year!

Bowerbird5 · 12/02/2018 18:00

😳 Zoo that is an amazing list

*Kitchen table clean and almost empty.

  • dresser, crystal glasses all washed and put back. Ordinary glasses too. There is a lot.
  • floor swept.
  • recycling put in shed.
  • washing done.
  • ironing done except one sheet.
  • kitchen tidied and spices put in *fire lit
  • bathroom, shower, toilet, basin cleaned Had two short naps for 15 mins each so resting too. I have just paced myself slowly through the day. Pleased to have been able to get so much done. The kitchen looks so clean and tidy.

Your dinner sounds. Yummy zoo I have M&S shepherds pie. Think I might quickly make potato and leek soup and perhaps small Apple crumble as it can go in the oven at the same time. I don't think we have quiz tonight so plan to have an early night about 9pm.

Hes not really 'done' anything. But his attitude stinks.

foxessocks · 12/02/2018 19:42

afresh I don't know what to say. It should be a partnership. Can you have a proper talk with him?

I managed to finish my list apart from didn't do as much in bathroom as had hoped. But I have almost finished my work. Ironing pile is growing again.

Thanks for the choc zoo !

Kids are asleep just going to let them settle before I finish on the computer as don't want to disturb them.

I'm feeling less grumpy now!

Afreshcuppateaplease · 12/02/2018 19:45

Stilllivinginazoo · 12/02/2018 20:28
Cagliostro · 12/02/2018 20:53

I guess even if it’s not a particular big ‘thing’ right now, you’ve reached your line in the sand :( he’s not coming across well that’s for sure Hmm

Afreshcuppateaplease · 12/02/2018 21:04

There have been a couple of tbh just rude and disrespectful comments in the past week. It made me think about what he thinks about us and about me. Appears to think i am some kind of doormat tbh.

Anyway

Today i have done stuff but i dunno what. Everywhere is pretty messy.

Stilllivinginazoo · 12/02/2018 21:08

Settling down to watch "trauma" on TV...

CotswoldStrife · 12/02/2018 21:28

DD is pretty poorly again tonight, so I'll do the links in the morning - sorry. She is just constantly ill but feels sick again. I may get a chance later but if not, I'll do them tomorrow.

Wh0KnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 12/02/2018 22:51

Hope DD feels better in the morning Cotswold

Your trip to Loch Lomond sounded lovely Goth, it is a place very dear to my heart but I've never been in winter and seen snow there.

Afresh - no advice really, mine makes my blood boil with his lack of input into the running of family and home and we do have fairly regular dingdongs over it which have resulted in some improvement, it's very wearing. I think you are right to not escalate it while you are both so wound up though, maybe talk more calmly in a day or so.

Well, not much achieved here, Flying wise, but did get DCs to holiday club, managed a couple of hours at each of two jobs and met a friend for coffee. Oh and went to a public meeting about local planning issues. Back in time for dinner and board games, games can be a bit fraught in our family though, as people get bored/distracted, wind each other up.
