February Fabulosity with the fledglings, Flylady Feb 2018 thread

Hello all - welcome to our February thread for 2018. Everyone is welcome and it's never too late to join in. We are decluttering our homes and keeping them clean and tidy(ish) as well as having some general chat as well.

We follow the Flylady method, and will post links daily to the missions via the Flylady website. For more information, have a look at www.flylady.net/

Here's to a fun February for all of us (with the occasional prod from the pointy stick of motivation and visits to the naughty corner )

Afresh I've been buying fish and meat at farmfoods,and frozen veg.bread at aldi.lots extra walking but pennies count....

Just popping up to say.... YNAB (You need a budget) has been enormously helpful to us with our finances. We have been through some tough times in the past few years, and I dread to think what our money would look like without YNAB. It's really worth checking out.

Where it is particularly good is planning what your money needs to do before you get paid again, and encouraging you to think about your annual big expenses and plan for them. It's useful to do it with partners because it very clearly shows things like, "If you want to book the holiday then we have to take the money from our eating out budget/the getting a new TV fund/bottles of wine fund". It focuses the mind on what you really want, especially when there's not quite enough money to do everything.

It's DH day off today so I have lots of plans.

Book car service
Dust
Laundry catch up
Tidy away last few bits of leftover DD birthday stuff
Get DH to tackle his neat piles of random crap

But just came to say Bowerbird I am not an HCP so please feel free to ignore because as I really don't know what I am talking about , but I do have to take medication for wierd heart rhythm issue and have annual sometimes bi-annual check-ups. I do hope that they gave you a trace reading in A & E, and took bloods, and checked your breathing and it also sounds to me like you need to wear a mobile trace and bp halter thing to track everything for a couple of days. I hope that this is being done given your history. Looking grey does not sound good. Hope you are ok anyway and take it steady

Sorry to hear your dd is ill Afresh half of dd's class is ill atm there is so much of it about! Hope she recovers soon anyway!

Spent £16 and didnt get everything i needed so need go aldi later. Dd made me buy her humous and a feather duster which were not on the list .....

Dentists were ok. Luckily they hadnt actually booked me an appointment just the dc so they couldnt really complain!

Dc1&2 at school and im home surveying kitchen chaos. Dd and ds3 watching twirly woos. Hopefully she will not share her germs.

Oh and i am now having second period in a month (think you had this cag?) And have spot size of saturn on my chin.

Not to crack on,place degenerating terribly.need to bake more cookies/cakes as once spotted cookies they "had to try for quality control" and thus almost gone(tbh only makes 11,but as sugar free(bar the dates obvs)they don't keep more than couple of days)

Good morning lovelies, have we all been hit with the Thursday thrust yet? No? Probably because I just made it up if you build it, they will come ========> (strong pointy stick of motivation)

I ironed DD shirt for school, dropped her off, went to the PO (brilliant time to go, shortest queue ever!) and did a bit of shopping. Had breakfast and getting on to do the roll call now as I've seen an engineer in the telephone boxes near us and this often means a lack of t'internet when they've been!

go for it zoo! the cakes didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped...they are very small (all my spoons were in the dishwasher so a lot of stuff was just guess-timated! i.e. baking powder...)

hmm...I didn't read the recipe properly it was was meant to make six muffin type cakes not 12 mini cakes. I wouldn't have thought it would matter but they haven't really risen at all and just taste stodgy and under cooked. How shall I salvage? They don't taste horrible, maybe I should buy some custard when I pick up dd and make it into cake and custard for after dinner?

She's done the plan,just needs finish translation and me (or pref lil zoo who the expert in artistic matters)will be assisting with the drawing as it's french not set I don't see that as cheating😉
