Fledglings fly into December to party hard.

Morning.

Tomorrow is December 1st which means roll call for the fledglings and shiny new thread. It might seem a bit clicky but it is because it is a long term thread, park your arse in the naughty corner for moral support, natter and various delicious goodies. Oh and smidge of housework too.

We follow the flylady system HOWEVER we adapt it to suit the circumstances of our lifes and sometimes we ignore the slightly more fluffy/bonkers babysteps --because we can and there ain't no one the boss of us

Sorry to hear you are still in pain bower Flowers

You are all being productive and I've done nothing except buy a loaf of bread and make fried egg sandwiches for me and dd...I've just sat around being indecisive! It took me ages to even decide to get bread.

Really really must start doing something as soon as I've finished my tea!

Bowerbird5 · 22/12/2017 14:54

Thank you foxes.

Ironing done slowly but surely.
Washing on Lakeland drier and towels in little drier?
Fire on.
Just had a pork sandwich, pork from butchers yesterday. Very tasty.
Very misty here.
Off to put ironing away. Bed should be well aired by now.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 22/12/2017 18:28

Hello all, glad you are in a little less pain Bower. Brew for all of these with non-sleeping DC.

Ta da:-
We are at the in laws so Christmas can begin and what hasn’t beeen done in the house now won’t get done anyway
Managed to forget a bag of presents and to make matters worse they were from my parents to give to my in laws so not even my own presents I forgot Xmas Sad. I think I am just fundamentally disorganised Xmas Sad. Never mind, we will see them again soon and I will have to confess to my parents in the meantime.
DD2 in bath
Tea eaten

To do:-
DD1 bath
Plan when to get DDs to do a Christmas card and also DD1 needs to do something on the computer
Tesco shop for when we get back

Big Christmas wing flaps to all Xmas Smile

Afreshturkeyplease · 22/12/2017 18:37

Urgh i wish i was going away for christmas

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 22/12/2017 18:39

I know Afresh, I am very grateful!

Cagliostro · 22/12/2017 18:45

Plonking some painkillers on the haughty corner bar!

I have achieved absolutely nothing today even by my standards! Cagletini hasn't slept more than a few minutes at a time since about 8am. We even took a walk to the Coop and pharmacy (I suppose that does count as an achievement really as we collected DD's tablets... but also picked up lazy meals for dinner) just to try and get her to sleep. But nope. She has been ever so smiley and gurgly at times though.

Bowerbird5 · 22/12/2017 23:52

Thanks for the painkillers Cags.

Well had quiet afternoon sorting some stuff while sat down. DD needed picked up so I just waited until they were an hour away and then got organised to meet up in the carpark. Discovered DD had brought her cat. This is the weirdest cat I have ever met. DD has moved three times and the cat just settles within a day. She has been for over night stays. I think she went camping once.
DD has promised to help with ceiling decs and card ones. Also going to mop floor I will enjoy watching that! Up in morning for Turkey lurkey collecting and anything else we need.

Bowerbird5 · 22/12/2017 23:53

Hope little ones sleep tonight.

HillsBesideTheSea · 23/12/2017 00:20

I would just settle for ds to stay out of fecking A&E! Friday before christmas too, dear lord do I feel for those on duty tonight. Early when we were there but still utter pandamonium.

Tidying did not get completed. Icing of cakes did not happen but 5 different batches of cakes, allergy friendly stollen and allergy friendly mince pies done. Half the laundry also done and the bedding for the spare bedroom has been washed and dried. Allergy people are incredibly happy, ds is dosed up on pain killers and anti-inflams, And I am about to do the same. Early start tomo as the cleaning has to be finished before lunch when we have a big birthday party happening, ditto re-icing of the cakes.

So hope you have lovely evenings, I am going to eat some lunch now please. night night

Bowerbird5 · 23/12/2017 08:34

Oh she sounds lovely. Rather like my Aunty always a house full including some waifs and strays when I was a teen. She just say make room for 👱and she would eek out the dinner to feed some poor teen whose mum drank rather than feed the kid. We have memories of boiling cabbage...can still smell it!
She used to have" sittings" you were allocated a " sitting" and she would shout through the house or get one of the kids to do it as to whether it was first , second or third sitting. Our uncle was always given first plate as he had three jobs. No dole money or benefits then. Aunty bred, showed, judged, clipped and boarded dogs to help out. It was mostly a happy house with the occasional whack if you misbehaved. She had nana there too. My sister and I used to swap with hers to stay over. It was great fun. Top to toe in bunk beds too.

That is a great list so far. I am still lazing in bed. Sitting room tidy. DD has promised to help with decs and then we can get box out and find table. Need to collect meat and any extra veg that she wants this morning.realise I have missed two cards so need to stick those in post. Thought DH had done one but he forgot.right DDs cat has woken her up so I can get up and get cracking.DD has promised to wash floor too and get coal and logs in. Let's see if true to word and it will be nice to have that help. I still have mince pies to make. I thought we could do those tomorrow. She WAS impressed that I had wrapped all presents. It is usually Christmas Eve ritual.
Hope some of you with little ones managed some sleep. Keep flapping, small steps, try to delegate a bit today.

Bowerbird5 · 23/12/2017 08:37

Can you do 5 minutes of mindfulness zoo from toes to head. I find it does help that and making a list just because I like crossing it off! Need one today as I will forget things otherwise.

HillsBesideTheSea · 23/12/2017 08:58

Just drinking first coffee and coming up with a cunning plan as i am so burnt out it hurts to breathe. Sad Needles to say the plan for tomo is to stay in bed.

But today:
shove right ingrediants into bowls and delegate decorating of cakes.
clear bench in washroom and put shredding boxes which I was going to burn today in there.
laundry
ironing
move baskets of clothes
write post cards and go to post office
Do not panic and take control of tidying porch -delegate
Sink into bath and curl up in bed
set up sewing machine so mum can put 4 button holes in and the put sewing machine in a safe place.

I think that is about everything for today. I hope that is every thing for today. It all has to be done by 1pm too because we have birthday party. But at least then we are done.

Good luck for everyone trying to get it all done today. May tempers not get too frayed and humour not too dark.

Morning all

Ds stired a few times in the night but overall both he and dd stayed in own beds til 630 am

Dc are squabbling already and have already had to seperate dd from both ds1&2 (2 seperate incidents). Ds1 has now run off in a strop upstairs. I hope this is not the theme for the day.

Trying to get ds3 to nap so i can get a bath.

I am usually a christmas eve wrapper too but have wrapped about 75% already

Ta da

Nothing

To do

Everything

Cagliostro · 23/12/2017 09:31

I expect today I will have a ta didn’t list instead of ta da. I’m going downstairs shortly. Cagletini made up for her epic non sleepy day by going basically 11-6.30 with only a very short cry/feed somewhere during the night. She’s grumpy again now. Not sure if it’s a growth spurt or developmental leap as she has changed massively the last few days, really interacting more etc.

Not much left to wrap and what does need it is actually for after Christmas when DSCs come round, but still want to get it done. I think I need to go into town but actually I quite welcome it, crowds no longer bother me so much and baby gives me the perfect excuse to sit down with a hot chocolate or something if she needs feeding, I can just watch the world rush by for a bit. I still need to sort out what’s happening next week though, people to see, money to earn etc. Yikes.

Hope your DS is ok hills and love reading about these great hostess mums :)

Soooo much tidying to do today. Glad DH is off.

FlyingJellyfishInTheAttic · 23/12/2017 12:12

Hope xmas prep is getting there for everyone.

We finished wrapping, cleaning and clearing living and dining room and dh is doing food shop.

I did washing, dh to hang up to dry. This eve will be chilling and dvd.

foxessocks · 23/12/2017 12:24

I'm not even writing a list today! Anything I do will be good!

I'm so tired is it Christmas yet?!

Cagliostro · 23/12/2017 12:27

I don't feel like it's two sleeps to Christmas at all! Living room is just a usual mess with a tree and presents in the corner.

I've stuck a wash on and left the washing up to soak but then Cagletini got hungry so my plan to leave her with DD didn't really work. Sent DH back to bed as I wasn't tired and he's not feeling well. Not great timing but he hasn't had a single lie in (or even slept in our bed much as I share with baby until she goes in Moses basket... That's the aim for after Christmas but the boudoir needs clearing) since baby arrived whereas I have one several times a week.

DD wrapped the presents for DSCs but we need to sort out the stocking fillers and a couple of other bits I'd forgotten about.

HillsBesideTheSea · 23/12/2017 14:28

Cakes iced - checked
House cleaned -checked

Buttons holes and bath left to go. And then if i am feeling brave there is ds' room Hmm

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 23/12/2017 15:05

Washing up done. DH normally does it especially when off but I'd rather do that than general tidying. Also washer and dryer are both on and I've sorted a load of games into packing boxes (they will stay there until we move and we can play others in the meantime) which clears cupboard space for living room clutter (science/model kits which will be used then passed on, aiming to use them up in the new year).

Stilllivinginazoo · 23/12/2017 16:07

Need tissue paper, present for friend's birthday, bread sauce, veg for risotto tonight (craving courgette for some reason) and maybe sweets/chocolate coins for the stockings. Must. Not. Twitch.
